After owning a Mavic Mini for one day, my friend's son crashed it into a tree and broke the left rear arm. My local drone shop wanted 150$ for the arm, and 150$ for the repair. After buying an arm for 40$ off of Amazon, it took a grand total of 35 minutes to replace the arm on my own, even having never used a soldering iron before. I highly recommend this video to anyone trying to do a repair by themselves, as the tutorial was incredibly useful. Thanks DJI Drone Service.

Given the whole kit is $399 and on sale for less the local shop needs to check the market.

OK. I MUST SAY THIS . HELPFUL VIDEO. HOW EVER NOT EVERYONE has the tools needed. I used a mini flat head to take shell off. The left rear side was being stubborn. Well you see there's a black sticker where the battery goes in and to tiny white dot stickers each side. If you look a tad further on left you see a black sticker from top to bottom. That's what's keeping it from separating. !!!!Wrong!!!!! Not sure what I cut but it's not a sticker . So I suggest In the demonstration that you should let the watchers know there are cables wires that run along the side of the drone as you' disassemble. be careful not to cut or tear one.. spend the $150.00 that way your not in my shoes saying now what.. So I give this video a 4 out of 1 through 10... I think it's very important to give As much detail and information Especially working on a $300 or $500 drone .so beware Red white Gray black wires are Running along the sides just like the part you bought to fix it I'll be careful .

you mentioned early (1:12) on that after the replacement, you'll need to reset the drone. Can you elaborate exactly what you mean there? I've just finished a front arm replacement on my Mavic Mini, got everything put back together again but then when I turned the drone on, the LEDs flashed green/yellow/red, and then held on a constant Red, which im reading is a critical error light. Idk whats going on....the drone pairs fine with the remote, and the firmware is all up to date. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance

Love the vid, helped me to be comfortable in rebuilding a broken arm. Seems the tricky part is repositioning the spring in the arm, rather than use any tools , just place the spring in the old arm, twist the top hinge (ie the bracket with the screw holes) , no risk of damaging the spring as I have seen else where.

    READ BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT:
I broke my mavic mini because I'm a dumbass. I flew it into a wall when I was flying it indoors. I cracked the top right arm and for a week or two I just had it taped it up. It flew fine but it looked tacky and I'm sure it would have been draining the battery.
Its been 5 years since I soldered and I was 13 years old when I did. This was the second most expensive purchase I've ever made but looking online I found that the damages wouldn't be covered under warranty and dji would charge me up to £100 to repair it(no dji care) . Being a broke college student you can imagine how scared I was to attempt anything.
But after a bit of contemplating I decided to do it. I bought this soldering iron kit:
    www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WVVV7SP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_y00.Eb5WZJJZN
And it's pretty good value for money, there's a lot of stuff inside, I'm not sure about the quality -as you can tell I'm no expert.
I also bought a spare arm from Amazon -now out of stock- and altogether it set me back ~£50.
The part that took the longest for me was getting the top shell off because I was very weary of breaking it. But take your time and keep in mind that you have to apply more force than you think.
Soldering was hard. The contact area is really small and at one point I thought I fried it because the soldering iron caused a smoky look on the PCB. It's also really finicky, but the two "tweezers" in that kit came in really handy.
Connnecting the antenna wire back was time consuming as well. You have to make sure it's perfectly level before you press down.
All in all the soldering is not the prettiest but it worked. It took me around 2 hours, I went REALLY slowly. Watch this video as well to help with some parts of this video that he brushed past:
    m.th-cam.com/video/E7hdTZ2BUSU/w-d-xo.html
I would say if you have the money, send it to the pros. But despite being a complete novice, I was still able to get it working and it looks as good as new -on the outside anyway. I would say go for it, be patient with it and watch this video multiple times and anytime you encounter difficulty with it, stop and search around online for other tutorials and teardowns.
    Good luck :)
P.S. Thanks for this video,it was really helpful and saved me some money, as well as giving me some respect for my drone and a very basic understanding about all the components

A problem with my drone , a few months ago i crashed my drone , and I tryed to fix it by replacing the wings and the motor itself but it didnt work the drone starts to move to one side once i turn it on it looks to me like it doesnt have enough potential in the back right rear part of the drone its the (dji mavic mini )

Still having problems after the rear arm was replaced. The drone won’t take off. It keeps going straight back and the one motor looks like it’s being underpowered. Could it be the circuit board?

My drone crashed and landed in a puddle 😢 and after drying it and trying it out again it just seemed the back right motor wasn’t giving full power so I bought a replacement and it’s still doing the same thing (not giving full lift power) so it just flips itself. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you for making this informative video. I have a question. Where can I find a front right arm for the mavic mini besides eBay?

@@chasingmountains700 well I broke both my camera and front left arm.
But I'd like to build my own as well and maybe get a 3d printer and print my own shells.

It seems to me because the Mavic mini has no sensors that it could probably benefit from a swap to a like size race drone CF frame. Perhaps it would save weight a little and gain an extra few seconds of flight time but most importantly gain some strength.
