    Learning from you about 'Immidiacy effect', I did some trials with both my wired PurplePanda lav and my Fulaim X5 wireless lav. The latter improved dramatically by being placed in front of my mouth rather than beneath my chin. Far better top end. Doing the same thing with my PurplePanda, there wasn't such a big difference, but its frequency range was far broader with a much fuller bottom end compared to the Fulaim. I really should use the PP more, but I hate wires haha!!!
    Thanks for your videos which I'm enjoying a lot. Blessings.

      Totally ok. As a friend pointed out, a few is more than 0 so I'll take it! Hope to see you at a future livestream.

    Thanks for sharing. The Okava seems to be my favorite actually. I think perhaps it has a little advantage over Sennheiser in terms of position. I have the Go II but Oktava side by side sounds next level. Is it possible to achieve something comparable in lav form?

      The Oktava mic is a surprise, isn't it? I'm unable to recommend a lav setup that'll achieve similar results. Let me know if you find something. Thanks for tuning in!

      I saved up for a year to get the MKH50, so I totally understand. I'm glad I went that route because it's an amazing mic.

      The MKE 600 is another shotgun you might look at , or the Blue Baby Bottle supercardioid condenser.

    Audio: Being a complete beginner, a couple of days ago I tuned into a video by a sound engineer about common mistakes people make with audio.
    But...
    His audio was rubbish. Lots of background echo. He would have got much better audio using my $30 PurplePanda wired lav which would have picked up his voice rather than the echo from his hard walls. Interesting how experts can still be completely blind, OR deaf!!!

    What are your settings on the Rodecaster Pro 2 for the MKH 50?

    • @kriedholm
      @kriedholm  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have all settings turned off in this video so you can hear what the mic sounds like without processing.

    Why is no one using the mkh8050?

    • @kriedholm
      @kriedholm  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! Why should I be using it?

    • @DailyRiot
      @DailyRiot 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @kriedholm Well, it's supposed to be the new and improved version of the mkh50. I actually ended up buying the mkh 8060, which is the newer version of the 416.
      For the most part, everyone is buying the older models. I was looking for a review on the 8050. That's how I came across your video. Must confess, I definitely don't need it close to 30 mics and still buying then, haha. Some kind of mental illness that makes me keep buying then. Even though I end up using the SM7B often.
