I use ECamm Live, and i was able to program the buttons. I just use them as scene switchers at this point. It does suck Mackie has left Mac Users out in the cold. Rode Unify does work with it though
I use it for gaming through my PS5 using my Mac Air…most frustrating part to me was Audio. I was not able to audio from chat to come through device. I had to run a cable from my PS5 controller to Phone Jack in back of Mainstream to hear chat and i do have to use a Fethead with my Rode Procaster.
I Do have Streamer X from RODE and I just bought this device bcoz it has the Speaker out what a disappointment to see this speaker out is useless as to much delay in it.
thank you for this review, saved me headaches. Not being able to monitor USB Mics is a no no...would also have loved to see Bluetooth integration... its just too imperfect. in todays world, one would expect all the buttons to be assignable to accommodate different workflows. This product isn't ready
I appreciate you responding! I do have a question regarding the Mackie....do you recommend this device more for gamers? Does someone who does basic podcasting and videos need a device like this? I'm torn. I want one...just not sure I need one. Thanks!
The intro part until 1:00.... you could simply edit it out, and start with the content. I think this device is targeted for gamer streamers. They all use Windows, I don't know any gamer who plays on a Mac.
I'm not sure about that. When the Rode Streamer X first came out, it was the same situation with the software. PC first, then Mac. The Mainstream has the potential to do much more than support gamer streamers. Time will tell!
The matrix software on pC kinda is trash, I’ve had it for a month and still can’t figure out why all my audio echoes back to me, also have you experienced the static and dropouts yet? I’m not the only owner that has experienced this..really hoping we get an update soon because the poor quality really takes away from my streams and kinda hurts being I’m a new streamer, thought I was getting a piece of professional equipment being mackies rep on top of rode purchasing mackie recently but to be honest it’s a great ideas whith great potential but unfortunately disappointing until bugs are fixed

Ah haven’t tried ecamm live. I tried unify but it didn’t connect for me. Will have to take a look at both.
I am in the same boat as you. I love the Mackie mainstream. But until we have Matrix for Mac, I feel it's subpar.
Such a bummer!

A lot of quirks!
Its not just the pads. The software controls so many settings

Huge bummer!
Can it be used in offline mode? That is, can the power type-C be directly connected to a USB adapter instead of a computer?
Excellent video
Thanks for the visit

Yeah, I agree. Now that Rode owns the company, I'm looking forward to seeing where they take these devices!
Thanks for the information!
You got it, Cesar!

I need to explore OBS as an option in more detail. Thanks!
