    4:2:2 10 bit all the way! I never do heavy color grading but all the extra info to push things just a tiny bit to get the look you want is incredible. Also, the ttartisan 27mm 2.8 (the og for cheap 27mm lenses) is my favorite purchase...if I ever want something to look fun straight out of camera I use that. 27mm quickly becoming a favorite focal length and that darn 27 1.2 isn't helping...I want it soooooooo bad 😂 Awesome video!

    Dumb question. I understand the video and mic with the device on zoom. But how do you listen to your clients on your zoom meetings while talking into the mic and giving the sound effects? I’m assuming you must be wearing headphones? You cannot use monitor speakers correct?

    • @kriedholm
      @kriedholm 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can hear others via the speakers on your computer, but if you go this route, you won't be able to hear the sound effects. In order to hear both, you'll want to monitor using headphones via the Streamer X.

    I was a professional studio food and advertising photographer for almost three decades. I'm really dating myself here, but I used to shoot 8X10" and 4X5" film images with a Sinar view camera. (Yes, it's true: I am a dinosaur.) Back then, the only way we could shoot down with a beast the size of an 8X10" view camera was with a studio stand, which is and shall forevermore be the greatest single invention in history, photographically speaking. I used a Linhof Studiomatic studio stand, which costs more than the GNP of most European nations. And it was SO worth it. Weighing a couple of hundred pounds, the studio stand rolled on the concrete floor with three large casters. Its mast was at least 12' high, meaning I could go up on a ladder to shoot down onto a large set below. It had a boom (that could slide back and forth as needed) that was about 6' long horizontally. That meant I could roll the stand over a tabletop set with ease, raise and lower the boom along the mast height, and angle the camera precisely to where I needed it. Oh, and did I mention that it was rock steady? Sigh. Those were the days. Don't get me wrong: I love your solution. It totally rocks. Short of an overhead rail rig or a Hollywood-level cinema boom (I get kinda breathless thinking about one of those multi-ton units), the Linhof was as good as it gets. If good fortune were ever to offer you one of these monsters, don't hesitate. Here's what I mean: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/31597-USA/Linhof_003467_Studiomatic_I_Camera_Stand.html/overview

      Thanks so much and glad you're here! The Rode Wireless Pro came out after I made this video. I'd consider the Pro or the DJI 2 so that you have 32-bit float internal recording. This could be a lifesaver for you if you are recording in loud, unpredictable environments. I have had experience in both of those environments and you can remove or reduce those background sounds in most editing software.

    I have all the ingredients - and your video was exactly what I wanted to see before I plug them all in. I have a question, with the low gain on the transmitters, for quieter parts of the recording that you need to add gain to in post, how does the noise floor behave. Have you had any issues? Thanks. I have subscribed I am sure your content is worth knowing about.

      Thanks, Pedro! As many have pointed out, this is not the *ideal* way to capture 32 bit float. I have used this setup in a pinch and it worked fine for me. It was much better than having clipped audio that can't be used at all. Sometimes you have to be creative on shoots and this could be used during one of those times.

      @@kriedholm The truth is: There is no OTHER way to record the radio mics into the Zoom, but I don't see why it is an issue for us pre floating point users. We just have to be careful with levels as we always have done. Floating point is nice to have, for our direct input mics, such as shotgun. We can also get a recording of the two radio mics on one channel and the shotgun on the other with the floating point. Thus three channels for the price of two, what's not to like like. This is not a work round, it is the way to do it (IMHO) My question was in all innocence, I had not read the other comments. We want external recording, my camera's internal sound is well known to be terrible (DJI Ronin 4D). I think your video is really helpful, it confirmed the way I was going to do it, and I have literally never done this before, I am a complete noob.

    Did you use the right color space Rec 2020 when you tried HLG? I don’t find it over saturated. It is if you bring it in as rec 709 in your editor.

    Thanks for your video Kri! This is awesome! I just bought an insta360 x4. I have a fujifilm xt5 too. Do you recommend using the Extended Edition Selfie Stick or did you use a different selfie stick like telesin?

      Thanks Dennis! The link to the selfie stick I used to capture this footage is in my description. I recommend it along with the super long one. Both by insta360 and work great!

    Great breakdown. I would use it because of the terrible distortion.

    Love your real world advice based on your experiences, Kri! I love all my cameras, including the action cams, but wow does great glass on a great camera create something amazing (if shot well!) :)

      Appreciate it, Paul! Couldn't agree more. What's your fav glass to shoot on these days?

      @@kriedholm I'm a novice, so not a lot of glass. what I have I love. sigma 24-70 dg-dn (original) is in use 100% of the time during work hours on a sony a7siii mounted to my desk. it's heavy and beautiful - sigma 150-600 dg-dn - great images of the full eclipse on sony a7iv

    Picture quality aside (solid dynamic range), first thing I noticed (and couldn't get over) is the lens distortion. I assume that's just with the wide adapter you added? What's the normal focal length of the lens?

    • @kriedholm
      @kriedholm หลายเดือนก่อน

      Regular focal length = 20mm and the wide-angle lens puts you at 15mm according to DJI specs.
