Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but I'm curious about your idiom. I can understand some words but a lot of them sounds like you're speaking another language. It's english but India dialect? I've heard India dialect before and I could understand. Sorry again if I'm being rude
There is a possibility of hemi acetal Or ketal formation, isn't it?????? Due to interaction between keton and isopropyl alcohol. Can these side pdts be formed in mpv???
That's a very interesting Qn... Acetal formation happens in acidic medium, since the firststep there is protonation, hence the side products in MPV are not formed, and also we put in the distillation facility along with the reaction, so the acetone is immediately removed as it is formed, thus rxn shifts to RHS and also acetone is avoided to react with alcohol.
@@TUCTheUnforgottenChemistry ooo thanks for your comments sir, actually I forgot that the rxn between ald Or ket with an alcohol occures in the presence of ANHYDROUS ACID CATALYST. Sir i have another question is it possible to carry out this reaction starting with a bulky aldehyde or ketone? I think it will lead the TS state unstable or can be frozen???
@@topicalchemistry3320 here in MPV the nucleophile which is attacking is very small that is H-.. So bulkiness of ketone will not bother the rxn unlike in aldol condensation where nucleophile is a big ald or ket nly. So here we can use bulky ketone.. And we can make bulky compounds like chlorimycetin and estradiol
