Ciara Keeney That’s amazing to hear younger people can be into things like knitting and crocheting. Haha. I’m 25 with three daughters. My oldest is 6 and she’s FASCINATED with watching me crochet and helping me count stitches. I’ve tried teaching her before but she has ADHD so bad. One second she wants to learn everything about crochet and the next she’s chasing the cat. Lmao. I hope she takes the time one day to sit down and do it. I have awful anxiety. When I first started crocheting in 2017, I was dealing with anxiety AND postpartum depression from having my second daughter in 2015. I noticed after I learned to make basic things like dishcloths and beanies, the depression slowly faded away. It helps a ton with my anxiety also because it gives me that feeling of being totally in control of something in my life haha. But again it’s so awesome that you’re only 12 and have been crocheting literally half of your life!! That’s mind blowing to me. And such a big accomplishment for someone so young. So pat on the back for you, my friend!! 💕
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this yarn Crystal!! I made my neighbors first baby blanket with it using the C2C stitch. Yes, I did go thru almost 6 skeins of it. But to be honest w/ you? The look on her face when she opened it and felt it, along w/ the stuffed giraffe (her theme) all in lavender? Was well worth not only the money and time... it was made with love!! I scored that day, and I love this yarn!!! All I have to say to that is welcome baby Olivia! ♥
I recently bought 5 skeins of the Coboo yarn. The colors to choose from were beautiful. It is so soft. For me there was a learning curve in how to crochet with this yarn. I experienced yarn splitting and had to mini frog to fix the splits. I made adjustments in how I held the yarn and the tension I used to grab the yarn with the hook. This made a difference for me and I don't regret purchasing this yarn.
I hold my hook and yarn the same way you do. You for showing us how coboo works up. Just letting you know I'm going through All your yarn videos along with the commercials.
This is actually one of my favorite Yarns, especially living in Florida. My kids love market and beach bags made with this. It’s nice, but I love most all Lion Brand yarn though. When it first came out it was in two Joannes in my town. They had a few of the colors like blue and pink, lavender. I haven’t seen them in a while so I just buy it online so I can have all the colors. I just bought silver, and yellow....Granddaughter wanted a yellow market/gym bag :) I also knit with it for anyone who enjoys both crafts.
Crystal I have been told that if I'm having trouble with yarn splitting to try pulling it from the other end. Depending on which way it was spun makes a difference in whether it splits a lot.
This review was made almost 2 yrs ago but I just bought 6 cakes of this Coboo to make a sweater (hope that'll be enough). I found it at my Walmart for $3.50ish. I think that is a great price for this! & I agree with Crystal - splitting is manageable, colors are beautiful, & it is SO VERY SOFT!!! I LOVE IT!!! Thanks for the review, Crystal! You're Awesome! ;)
I absolutely love this yarn! I’ve made several things with it and it drapes very nicely and works up wonderfully! I haven’t found a problem with splitting and it’s easy to pull out! So glad you like it! Stay safe! Love & Hugs! 💕🤗💕
I bought a cake from Love Craft, love the softness. I'm going to make a summer top with. Watching you work with it, I'm going to love it!! ❤❤ Thanks for sharing.
I have been eyeballing this at Walmart. Thank you for doing an educational video for us. I like this yarn, I like the idea of a cotton/bamboo blend. I like it and think I will try it for a smaller project. Thank you for your time and wonderful insight.
I've been able to get 6 of the colors at my local, small-town Walmart for $4.41. It's a wonderful yarn! I make hats for cancer patients out of it. No matter how many of the cakes I get of this yarn though, I have yet to find one that has a center-pull. Thank goodness, this yarn is smooth enough to just pull from the outside!
Love this yarn! Bought it at Walmart out of curiosity. Have made many washcloths with it that are super soft and luxurious on the skin. Does great in washer & dryer. So glad you like it, too!
I just bought this at Walmart for 4 bucks in steel blue , pink and the tan. I'm making bathing suit cover ups...just started the blue one, your design of course. And I love this yarn. Love it it's perfect for summer anything!
Thank you so much Crystal for sharing your thoughts on this yarn. I really value your opinion on all your yarn reviews. Cotton/cotton blends are one of my favorites and I can't wait to try this. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these reviews - they are very much appreciated.😊
Sweet! I bought two skeins today at walmart...they had 6 colors for 3.97 each. I was looking for a yarn that had a nice drape. Thank you Crystal 👼 for all you do for us. Be blessed🌻
I felt the same way about their tru-boo. At first it was a mess. I'm fairly early in my crochet journey. I tried I few more times and now I'm in LOVE with it. Ya kinda have to think of it like a cross between crocheting with ribbon and crocheting with multiple strands. Incredible drape and feel!!
Hi Crystal. Yes, I have tried this yarn and I also didn't find that it was prone to splitting. It also drapes beautifully after your project is finished. Hope that helps.
Crystal, so glad you reviewed this! I've wanted to, but had the same thought you did about splitting...so glad that wasn't a problem. I love the idea of 50 cotton/50 bamboo. Now I will give it a try. Thanks!
I found the new yarn Coboo at my Walmart, hear in Fresno, CA. Colors: white, soft, lavender, soft pink. I haven't checked my joann store yet, to see if they carry this yarn yet. You are soòo right, this is a very soft yarn and I can't wait to make something with it.
So glad to see this review, I haven't used this yarn yet, but I did buy some yesterday at my wal mart, for $3.97. I got the lilac color to make a summer baby dress. And it is very soft. Thanks again for this review..
Walmart carries this now. Its wonderfully soft. It can be a bit tricky as im finding some of them split more than others, but like you said, nothing you cant control. Its really nice for wearables, but totally agree to go up a hook size or two for a nice drape.
It looks really nice. I love bamboo blends, so I'm super excited. You know u can always use coupons on it if it's not on sale. There are coupons if u sign up for Joann's emails and if u download the app. Plus they take competitor's coupons. So u can even pull up a Hobby Lobby and Michael's coupon on ur phone when ur checking out to get multiple skeins on discount.
I am currently crocheting a baby blanket with this yarn. It does split a little but if you go slow it isn't too bad. It's so soft that I don't mind the splitting.
I’ll just go online then to buy. Just received my box from Lion Brand today. 8 skeins of Scarfie yarn. Love it. I wished I had of known last week before placing my order. I want to try this yarn really bad. Thanks for the review.
Do you remember the discontinued Classic Elite Cotton Bamboo and Wool Bamboo yarns? They’re my all-time favorites, so I’m excited to see this. I ordered 10 cakes this morning in Peach. I bought it online at Lion Brand. It’s machine wash and dry.
Thank you for the Review, Yes, I'll try it. It shows that Walmart Online and not in stores but it's $4.94 plus $2.96 fo Shipping. Too High for me but if ever on sale somewhere I will buy it. On Sale at JoAnn's online only for $3.49 (was $4.99) and whatever the Shipping cost. eBay $12.75 for 3 in Magenta only and free shipping
I made tunics for our kids with this yarn. Yes, super soft and became even softer after washing. I did delicate cycle and cold drier. It splits a bit, but after a couple of rows you just get used to it. I will definitely make more things from it, it feels cooler than just cotton.
I found this yarn and fell in love with it!! I too waited until it went on sale 😂 I found it at Joann's for 2.19 a ball!! I bought as much as I could and already made three hats and my kiddos love theirs!
Hi Crystal, Hope all is well. You are exactly correct it is a spitting Yarn. I used the white to make a sweater and I had to crochet very slow because of the spitting. My sweater is beautiful. I brought a lot and I love how it feels, but you have to be careful. Sold at JoAnn’s New Jersey, I purchased it on sale and used a 20% off coupon. Not stocked often at the store. Every time I see the yarn I purchased it, although it splits. The colors are very vibrant.
Wal-Mart carries it here. I've tried it and the splitting problem diminished the more I worked with it (slowing down, paying attention - no tv, etc). So I would say it's good for meditating. Beautiful drape. I wouldn't use for dishcloths, but great for clothing and baby stuff.
Thank you, Crystal! I’ve had my eye on this yarn, but I have to rely on reviews, not being able to get out & about. I’ve always found that I totally agree with your reviews, so this is where I come, and I’m grateful that you do so many reviews. (The first thing I do when I get my order is the “neck test” that you do! (I smell it, too!) Thanks again. X
I wind my own cakes, and I know what the yarn does in the beginning, which is the center of the cake. You are right try the bottom if you can’t find the end in the top.
I purchase some in store at Walmart. I think it's $3.98. I made a long sleeve pullover sweater. I love it, it's so light and comfortable. I did have problems at first with it splitting but after I used it a bit it got better.
Crystal, thank you so much for the review. I myself have not tried this yarn out yet. I too assumed that it would split, so I didn't want to spend my money on it. But after this review, I will be going out and buying a couple. Again, thank you so very much.
I bought this yarn last night, and started working on a doily. It split like crazy, which was disappointing since it was so soft, and held the shape so wonderful. After watching your review, I'm tempted to try it with a larger size hook. Thank you!
Finally got some Coboo at one of my local Walmarts. So soft! Does split some. Making a tank top. Also has the knited knockers approval! Two thumbs up by me! (They did not have it in store at my Joanns.) Thank you again Crystal for another great review! 👍🧶😁
From other posts I have seen (lady using it to make a shirt) it's not spun like the yarns we usually use. I am wanting to try it but at the moment, I can't afford jack hahaha.... Oh well! I will get this eventually. Thank you💖 Love watching your reviews and tutorials....
I've seen this now at several Walmart stores in Western states. I forgot what the price was truthfully. I didn't buy any yet, because I've been buying the HL & WM clearance yarns. And also the Lionbrand Comfy Cotton as I'm making a Poncho top for summer. Yarney love Pam
i just watched this is in 2020 august 14, and i wanted to say i found some mainstay at walmart that i didnt know was cotton. it was so soft i am using it in my huge sweater project that i needed black yarn. this was priced really well. i am so going to buy this soft cotton more often
I love the Lion brand Coboo yarn. It feels fabulous and the drape is beautiful. It can split but it's not an issue. Please review the bamboo Tencel yarn from Hobbii. It's very similar (but I hate the small yardage unlike the coboo cake) and it has an added sheen that gives it a very elegant look, plus the same beautiful softness and drape.
I just got two yesterday. I hope to try it for a little vest for my granddaughter. I found it at Wal Mart on the shelf by the cotton. June 28th, 2019. I paid $2.99 I think.
I’ve been wanting to try that yarn
I’m 12 and I’ve been knitting and crochet for 6 years now! I love your channel keep making videos we all love you!

I made an heirloom baby blanket with it, 4.5mm hook and once I got the hang of it I loved it. Bloomed nicely after washing too😊
I just placed an order for some of this yarn seconds before I got the notification for this video! Now I feel more at ease with my purchase. Lol!
I always check your videos before I buy a new yarn. Your videos are on Lion Brand for a lot of yarns that I've viewed. Thanks for your review.
I LOVE this yarn! It does split occasionally, but it's not a big issue. It feels so nice worked up and has a lovely drape.
Amazingly soft! Wonderful drape! Used it once and love it!
I hold my hook and yarn the same way you do. You for showing us how coboo works up. Just letting you know I'm going through All your yarn videos along with the commercials.

That's interesting and makes since, I'll give it a try... thank you 😊
Great point! Thank you!
Janeen Atkins I’ve heard that too. LBY has ZZZ Twist yarn which is supposed to be better for crocheters bc it’s spun in the opposite direction
WoW thanks just purchased my yarn and it is nice really nice but I'm going to try opposite end . thanks bunches
I'm thinking I'll try it for baby washcloths. I love the softness of bamboo for baby items. Thanks for reviewing it for us!
I use it to make the face make up remover/face scrubbie that i sell. They sell faster than the pure cotton ones.
Do you know of any bamboo yarns that are self striping or mandala types? Thanks 😊.
@@clairechapin5221 I don’t remember ever seeing self striping bamboo. I bet Crystal will know.

Iv been using Vanna for years and looking for a lighter yarn. Your excellent review answered questions about Caboo. Im getting it. Thanks.
Yay!!! I hope you make a hat.....I’ll be watching & waiting for what you come up with.

You make it look so easy, i probably give it another try
Thank you. I love Coboo and Truboo.
I love this yarn! I bought it online at Joann's. I made some baby snuggle sacks with a bigger hook.😍

This is why I'm subcribed to you because these videos are necessary ☺️
Thanks for the video, I think I'll try this yarn, I love bamboo blend yarns and I also like yarns that just glide on the hook.

Thank you for this review. I have been searching online for soft yarn that I can use to make myself chemo hats. This sounds perfect for my needs.
Just bought 3 cakes at Walmart for 3.97 each. It is really soft. Thanks for the review on this
I tried it and love it, I made a lace scarf and I like it very much!
I am currently crocheting a baby blanket with this yarn. It does split a little but if you go slow it isn't too bad. It's so soft that I don't mind the splitting.
thanks Crystal, I'll put it on my list for after Christmas ... got caught up with crocheting and giving my kids money all at same time haha

It seem to glide very smoothly. I think I would enjoy using this yarn very much for a Shaw, maybe in white or light beige.

Hi Crystal,
Hope all is well.
I just got some of this on clearance at Walmart for $2.50 a skein. Looking forward to using it. Thanks for the review.
I love cotton and bamboo blends for washcloths! Definitely have to get my hands on some and make some new ones for the family! Thanks for the review!
I was thinking it looks like it would have a nice drape and then you said what I was thinking! Ha ha! I also think it would make gorgeous shawls!
Thanks, Crystal. I just ran across this. Bamboo/cotton sounds good for a cardigan.
Wal-Mart carries it here. I've tried it and the splitting problem diminished the more I worked with it (slowing down, paying attention - no tv, etc). So I would say it's good for meditating. Beautiful drape. I wouldn't use for dishcloths, but great for clothing and baby stuff.

When a cake doesn’t pull from the “top” try the “bottom” sometimes labels are put on upside down.
I wind my own cakes, and I know what the yarn does in the beginning, which is the center of the cake. You are right try the bottom if you can’t find the end in the top.
Both skeins I purchased had the center pull end easily accessible from the the bottom of the cake.
thanks for your honesty
thank you! extremely helpful....was considering it for some baby items...yay!
I purchase some in store at Walmart. I think it's $3.98. I made a long sleeve pullover sweater. I love it, it's so light and comfortable. I did have problems at first with it splitting but after I used it a bit it got better.
Looks really nice, I am sure I will like it.
Thank you for sharing your opinion. It’s splitting too much for me. I appreciate your reviews.
Was glad to hear your review. Our Walmart carries it now.
I bought a cake at WalMart, a few color's to choose from, $3.49 each. Thanks for the review!
Crystal, thank you so much for the review. I myself have not tried this yarn out yet. I too assumed that it would split, so I didn't want to spend my money on it. But after this review, I will be going out and buying a couple. Again, thank you so very much.

I hadn't ran across this yarn yet. Looks like a good one. Thanks for the review.
I bought this yarn last night, and started working on a doily. It split like crazy, which was disappointing since it was so soft, and held the shape so wonderful. After watching your review, I'm tempted to try it with a larger size hook. Thank you!

👍🧶😁
From other posts I have seen (lady using it to make a shirt) it's not spun like the yarns we usually use. I am wanting to try it but at the moment, I can't afford jack hahaha.... Oh well! I will get this eventually. Thank you💖 Love watching your reviews and tutorials....
I’m so glad to hear your review. I got a lot from the video. Thank you.
I've seen this now at several Walmart stores in Western states. I forgot what the price was truthfully. I didn't buy any yet, because I've been buying the HL & WM clearance yarns. And also the Lionbrand Comfy Cotton as I'm making a Poncho top for summer.

In Augusta Georgia they had it this summer but don't any more I got some but have not tried it yet I will be will be soon for sure
Looks good. The tiny bit of splitting might clear up a few rows in. Interesting! I've never tried bamboo yarn. Thanks for a great review!

Cool! Thanks for your honest review,Crystal. I may try some to make summer top, with summer almost here in Australia, this would be good!
I just got two yesterday. I hope to try it for a little vest for my granddaughter. I found it at Wal Mart on the shelf by the cotton. June 28th, 2019. I paid $2.99 I think.
