I think sometimes the yarn companies try to capitalize on the cake craze tho I rather my yarn caked I won't pay more just because it is ....thank you for your honesty as always
I agree. Pretty colors. I like to see $1/50-100 yards for the commercially produced acrylic yarns unless as you said there’s something special about them like they are extremely soft because they added something. Thank you so much for your honest review as always. 👍

I bought some of this from walmart. I thought the same thing about the splitting by looking at it but I bought several skeins of it in different colors anyway because it was so soft. I havent used it yet but I am glad to see that its not going to split.
I agree about yardage vs what you're making vs price. You definitely have to figure on what you'll be making vs the yardage. Especially if it's a yarn eater project. Thanks for the review Crystal.

I agree on the price for acrylic, maybe if it was a wool or something I'd pay $5. Just curious on why you want centers to match. I always try to buy cakes that start with the next color the previous cake ends with to keep the color change pattern in sequence.
I completely agree. I saw this yarn on LB’s website last week and thought the price/yardage was too high. I would have tried it if the price was less or yardage more.
I personally, like Mainstays at Walmart. I think it's soft, plenty of yardage and only $1.97 a skein. They seem to be coming out with a lot of pretty yarns lately but with a high price.

Hi Crystal I think you're right it cost way too much for the yardage. It takes me at least 1200 yards to make a shawl to fit me. At that price I would pay almost $50 maybe more to get enough yardage for a shawl for me. I don't see me making anything that I can fit with that little bit of yardage.

I saw these on sale at the smaller Joann store by me. I ended up buying some Ferris Wheel yarn instead. I loved the Ferris Wheel yarn. I don't know if it is a new yarn but I hadn't seen it before in the store and only the smaller Joann store carries it. The colors looked great worked up in a beanie.
I would use a coupon if purchasing product. I haven't used a lot of 3 weight yarn. I would try this. Weight4 is usually my go to- what I gravitate toward. I'll check out color choices.
I agree with you...$5 for 187 yards is not worth it. Not to get a substantial project done without spending $25 - $30. That to me is pricey. If I could get it for $3 I'd buy it.
I would like to see how the colours roll out in a project. I really like cupcake, large mandala for the way the colours roll out in a pretty way when making a shawl.

Like the colours, but one thing I have learnt from you Crystal ,is yardage plus cost = nice priced project or too expensive project. I agree it’s a it expensive.
yeah I think it needs to be at least 250 yards for it to be worth $4.99. as far as the cakes I can make them into cakes myself even smaller cakes at that depending on how tightly I wind them lol. This is also the first time I have ever heard of it. That is something that I like about your channel too I find out about new Yarn lines from companies.

I went there for that particular sale, but in the end, I ended up buying other yarn and not the yarnado. I will try it when it is on sale again or with a 50% or 60% off coupon.

I agree I would not pay 5.00 for that yardage just because its caked up, I can cake my own yarn. It seems like they charge more for the convenience of it being caked. I love this yarn from hobby lobby is nice and soft and its 3.99 for way more yards.
I crochet from the outside of the ball/skein of yarn due to some unfortunate tangling several times when starting from the center, not fun. I'm always scared to start from the center - eek! :)

JoAnn has an online-only 20% off on Lion Brand yarns currently, so they're $3.99 at Joann.com. You got a better price on sale from the Lion Brand website, but if you didn't get free shipping from them, the net price might be about the same either way. I have no room for new yarn currently (not that that's stopped me from requesting yarn for Christmas!), so I won't be ordering this soon.
I don't really want to buy a cake with so little yardage for that kind of money. I was thinking that maybe I could make a cowl or scarf for one of my young granddaughters, but that's about it. I really don't see me buying this. Thanks for the review!
Lion Brand has been putting out some great new yarns and I love the names and colorway names too! (Round of applause 👏 to the creative person behind the names) But I agree..... Too spendy for the amount of yardage. Hopefully this isn’t going to be a continuing “trend” with all the yarn companies 😱 Giving the consumer less product for more profit and “fancying” it up with the packing. That’s really disappointing.
