Lenovo doesn't have great customer support and also you get better screen with Omen and one of the best thermals.

john matthew Quiazon up to now, there’s none. After having to play games for long hours, the temps dont even bump up to 90C with the performance mode.
Just ordered Legion 5 (Ryzen 5 + RTX 2060, 120 hz) for 750 eur (European pricing is usually higher then US). Great price/performance ratio even if i consider estimated pricing and performance of upcoming rtx 3060 laptops.

FYI - I discovered while researching for a potential Lenovo Legion 5 purchase that the RGB version of the Legion 5 comes only in with the 120Hz display and regrettably with 250 nits of brightness 🔆.
I'm kind of in the same pit, do you think 250nits is too low a brightness for the Omen anti-glare panel?

bad choice for thermals and screen flex... not very durable..
@@379moon it's been holding up quite well for me so far, and in everyday normal use screen flex is barely noticeable...just handle your laptop like what it's worth you'll be good. I have nothing to complain about

Issues with HDMI & USB-C Display Port output, anyone had those issues? I got the Legion 5P (Ryzen 4800H, RTX 2060) form Currys-PC World here in the UK for £999. The laptop comes with lower RAM and SSD specs (8GB and 256GB respectively), but they are both upgradable and I intent to upgrade to 32GB RAM and a second 1TB NVMe as soon as I have finished testing the laptop and happy with its performance. The first thing I tried to do after finalising Windows installation was to try to connect to two external monitors, very important to me for Soft Dev work. The laptop provides both HDMI and USB-C with Display Port at the back and both, according to the specs, support 4K @60Hz. Unfortunately I got all sort of issues:
1. The USB-C connection didn't detect any external monitors at all, does anyone know if I need to do anything special to "activate" the Display Port of the USB-C interface? I tried using a direct USB-C to USB-C cable with a 1440p HP monitor that has a USB-C in, but no luck. I tried using a small portable "docking station" that has USB-C to HDMI adaptor, but again no luck. With this adaptor I tried different HDMI cables and 3 different monitors, 2 x 1440p and 1 x 4K. All those configurations have worked fine in the past with my older 2018 Dell XPS and with a much newer 2020 Huawei MateBook 14, no issues at all. Anyone had that or a similar problem with the USB-C video out?
2. The HDMI connection worked both when connecting to 1440p and 4K monitors, but with a lot of issues. The 4K monitor was OK for the first couple of minutes then I was starting to get a blank screen (totally black screen) appx. every 10 secs and for about 1 sec each time. Very annoying. Tried different display modes, for example 32bit-60Hz, 59Hz, 50Hz, etc, but I was getting the same issues. The 1440p monitors behaved a bit better, no blank screens, but when I was playing TH-cam videos as a test the video would freeze every time I would maximise it to full screen, but the sound playing from the monitor speakers was fine with no interruptions, etc, as if the video was continuing playing behind the frozen screen. Also when I was splitting a Chrome window playing a TH-cam video between the laptop screen and the external screen, the half of the video on the laptop screen was playing fine where the external monitor half was frozen. I got some other similar issues, even when I tried enabling/disabling Optimus and used various display modes, etc.
Needless to say that after I encountered all these issues I tried several combinations of settings, installed all Windows 10 latest updates, upgraded all NVidia and Lenovo drivers, etc. The issues persisted. I even reset Windows a couple of times to make sure that it was not those updates creating the problem in the first place. But after a reset I would get exactly the same issues.
Anyone had any similar issues with the video output of the Legion laptops? Did I just receive a bad instance of this model? I have now returned the laptop and waiting for a replacement to arrive soon and I hope that I won't have the same issues, but any comments on this matter will be appreciated. Thanks ;-)

Why psref shows 10870H specs for Legion? If that’s the case, this isn’t really a fair comparison, Intel might have slight edge in game fps but is beaten in term of raw perf & thermal. Also Legion AMD specs is slightly cheaper compared to Omen for the same specs, why this review comparing 120Hz option for Legion vs 144Hz for Omen?
I personally prefer Omen looks & keyboard layout but this review’s giving wrong impression to ppl

But you didn't use the 144hz, 100% rgb color accurate legion 5 version?......
With the 144 hz screen the Lenovo beats the Omen imho. And with the rtx 2060 I have it's much more in sync with the i7 cpu.
Also the placeholder is there for structural reasons.

Not the greatest comparison. Legion 5 ryzen 7 is cheaper but far surpasses legion 5 Intel. In fact i9 Intel barely keeps up lol. Nice comparison between these versions tho

@tiptop Boi not really. I can nitpick a few things, but in general the performance and build quality is insanely good.
One of my biggest pet peeves so far is the amount of dust it accumulates. Though it is kind of reassuring that it is moving such a high amount of air. Luckily, it's super easy to take the bottom panel off if you need to give it a light clean.
I know some people complain about the screen flex, but it is super minimal. The hard cut corners have not been a bother to me either, but I guess it depends how you rest your arms when typing.

@@DS-nq5qf definitely go with ryzen over Intel, but as for omen or legion, it doesn't really matter as both are brilliant. If you want the legion, go with the legion 5 AMD instead of the 5i. The good thing about the omen is how easy it is to upgrade the RAM and SSDs. I'm not sure what you meant by the battery. The battery life is average on the Omen, obviously you won't be able to do hardcore gaming on the move for very long, but it lasts a decent amount of time.

Check what your supplier says about installed ram. Put in the same ram as there were previously. If you won't find this exact ram from same manufacturer, I would advise you to read about XMP/non-xmp ram. That makes difference to ryzen processors.
Take a look at the Just Josh's video about omen 15. There is a link in description about ram for ryzens. There is info about xmp and nonxmp or whatever its called. Check it out, its all you need
