Lol I forgot to mention the CPUs, whoops. Both of these laptops feature the Ryzen 7 4800H.
And another oopsie - the Omen 15 has a 71wh battery, NOT an 80wh battery. Dunno how I mixed that up

If you're in the UK, seriously consider the Legion 5P with 4800H and 115W 2060. It only comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD, but you can get it for £949 from Curry's eBay store. I added another stick of RAM (16GB total) plus a 2TB m.2 NVMe to mine and it still came out cheaper than the 2060 version of the Omen. Thermals are great, it never throttles, it's very quiet (compared to other gaming laptops) the 144HZ screen has 100% sRGB and a sub 5ms response time and I've recorded the 2060 pulling 120W! In summary it's the best Ryzen based 2060 laptop currently available (and one of the cheapest too)
*edit* Forgot to mention that this model also comes with the 80WHr battery. Also the listing incorrectly states that it has WiFi 5, where in fact it comes with WiFi 6.

I have been using hp omen 15 ryzen 7 rtx 2060 for more than a month now and I can say that the hinge is pretty solid flex is never an issue for me it’s very minimal, the screen is superb for content creation and streaming and for gaming it’s just amazing never experienced any screen ghosting or screen tearing.performance was awesome throw any game it can easily run on max settings and thermals where so good cpu avg temps never crossed 80 even after longer gaming session like 7hrs straight...and gpu max temp never even crossed 70 ...avg was always around 65 ...and even after longer gaming sessions keyboard deck and exterior never felt hot it’s just felt warm can touch anywhere comfortably....fan noise wasn’t that loud u won’t even hear it on lite tasks or while streaming..and finally battery is so good I got 9hr Netflix streaming at 50% brightness and still 24% remaining ....only con I felt was bcz of large vents dust may enter easily so frequent cleaning should be done...other than that I’m extremely satisfied with this machine.

Bought the Omen 15 2020 and so far, the laptop has been perfect, no complaints so far. The little problems people highlighted have been really negligible and are overstated. The legion 5 in my country only comes with GTX 1660 graphic card whereas the Omen 15 comes with RTX 2060 graphic card.

    • @codeHusky

    I have legion 5 with ryzen 7 4800h and 1660 ti. 16 gb ram. 144 hz display.
    Pros:
-Display is the best. Very much satisfied.
    -Very Powerful.
-Great thermals. Much cooler than other gaming laptops. And runs silent. On perfomance mode, its audible but not disturbing.
-great build quality. Keyboard is very good too. Idk if it is durable or not. But for now its great for me.
    -touchpad is great.
-battery runs good about 5 to 6 hours on browsing movies etc with hybrid mode OFF! With ON, it is about 3 hours.
    CONS:
The major con that might force you not to buy is that faulty driver updates. I dont think the drivers work good with all the softwares and games. There are some micro stutters in games a lot.
In future it might be fixed. But intel is better in this category. Its drivers work really good with all the softwares n games.

    Summary for me:
Omen and legion almost the same performance.
Thermal is also almost the same that it doesn't affect much.
The screen is almost the same but legion 5 is slightly faster.
If you want best performance and cheap: get legion 5
If you want a clean design and don't mind paying another 100-200$ then get omen
If your country only has one of the two devices only then get what you can.
Personally I prefer legion 5 because of its price. But I also prefer the omen design over the legion. The ports on the legion is just better than the omen

I am looking to buy a laptop that is good for music production and also gaming, and I have stumbled upon these two. Which audio technology would be best? Also, with the music production as my priority, should I go for the AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel i7?
Please note that I am not playing video games for too much.

    Dolby Atmos
    HD Audio
    Harman Kardon
    Omen:

well nowadays you can find affordable more budget like legion with 16 gigs ram,rtx 2060 1 tb ssd ryzen 7 but I'm honestly very good with intel i5 or i7 with are cheaper, also you can buy relatively cheqp s7 which is aluminium made , I'm good with plastic thou ,for buyers pay attention for display refresh rate many sellers forget to mention that if its very cheap its probably the 60 hz refresh rate ,go for 144 one ,the i5 its a little bit hgiher on temperature but not so high so better is a i7 or ryzen 7

That cost me £2300 just over a year ago but I spilt a drink on it. I then decided not to spend that much again. Instead I spent £899 on this. In gaming I can hardly notice the difference between the 2. The legion has much better thermals. I have added a 1TB NVME and ordered another 8GB of RAM. The Legion intel 2060 version is about $2700 in Australia, the Razor 15 is also $2700 running on i7 rtx2070. Which one is more value for money? Thanks

I'd opt for the legion as it will likely have better game performance

I know this is nitpicking but I wish the arrow keys on the legion were flush with the rest of the keys.. it looks odd to me :( the Omen layout just looks so much better.. also should have had rgb instead of just white backlight..
