    Correction: ROSEWOOD NOT MAPLE fretboard! (not sure why I said maple?????)

      Maybe because many of the newer Gibson's use maple.

    I am lucky enough to own an ESP Navigator SG and an Edwards Les Paul Junior Double cut. Both are unbelievably good - the Edwards LPJ is the most resonant guitar I own. Great video, Goose! Lovely bird too!

    Very nice guitar! I also have a very rare ESP. It’s a USA custom shop Telecaster body with AAAA Koa wood top. Only 25 were made and the first 10 had ESP on the 12th fret. #11-25 had the regular two dots on the 12th fret. I have #9 and it’s a great guitar. 👍

    ESPs were one of the best sounding guitars I've ever played. I can't remember the model. Is it Eclipse? The expensive one? A guy brought it to my studio about 10 years ago and it just sounded fantastic. At that point I've already bought my 2 Jackson Flying V customs and I was too lazy to sell them and even if I did I would've bought Gibsons instead, because I kind of prefer the Les Paul, but ESP is close second. I do like my Jacksons don't get me wrong, but ESP is just fantastic!

    • @Kali-Yuga-Peace-Corp
      @Kali-Yuga-Peace-Corp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ESP guitars are the best guitars I ever have played, nothing comes close. I prefer the superstrats like Horizon and the Mirage later only called M. The Eclipse, Les Paul style one is also great. Buy them now when you have the chance, they are all going up in price used.

      @@Kali-Yuga-Peace-Corp I would say I personally prefer the Les Pauls, but ESPs are close second. Like that one guitar I played - I can't remember - it was top of the line. It was brilliant. Superior to my custom Jacksons.

In fact, out of all of the guitar shops my son and I have been to, this is the nicest guitar I have held in 40 years, maybe ever! @@TheGuitarShowhey Goose I have a content idea that’s not really original but could be. I saw something the other day on guitarists who used not what you’d think on particular tracks. Like Gilmour played a goldtop with p90‘s on another brick in the wall, it’s widely thought Hendrix recorded purple haze on a tele. That stuff. But then I was watching your Hendrix video and you started pointing out that he likely used this guitar to record this track etc. And it got me thinking about merging the two. So like here an example. Page recorded Zep 1 on a Tele except for you shook me which he is rumored to have played a Flying V on. Zep 1 was recorded in late 68 (released Jan 69) so it’s unlikely that he got his hands on the newer 67 reissue version that quick in England. Hendrix custom ordered his and didn’t get it until 68 so I doubt Oage saw one in a shop in London. It’s likely that if he used a V it was an original 58 Korina C. And the only guy in England that I knew that had one at that time was Keith Richards. He played it at the Hyde park concert after Brian Jones died and it was later stolen in France. I’ve seen pictures of Page playing Keith‘s burst in a studio with the bigsby on it. If I had to bet I’d say (if he did use a V on you shook me) that he borrowed Keith Richards V for it. That’s the stuff I mean. That would be good content for a guitar nerd like me!

    Quite the score. Aesthetically the V is the best. But the Firebird's bright pickups do seem to lend themselves to a 3 pickup, 5-way switch setup.
    Rare Japanese copies are always more interesting that the 'authentic' brand.

    Blue one looks fake. look at how uneven the space is between the bridge and the edges of middle piece of wood is. Symmetry was either an after thought or it’s fake. Maybe it was a great playing guitar, but yikes.
