He was a down to earth sweet guy off stage. I met him when I was fourteen and he obligingly signed autographs and answered questions for fans after the show, never copped an attitude or acted like a prima donna. RIP WILDCHILD!!! Thank you for the music
Agree. He always had the best attitude and personality. I met him in 2006 and he was super kind to us, he gave us hugs and autographs etc and was really sweet.
Currently musamaailma is bringing Laiho's signature edwards guitars to Finland from Japan. Hopefully I have enough time to get the money gathered up so I can buy both pinky and scythe. I "need" them both you know... Two different tunings you know... Lol
Alexi was a fantastic guitar player he's definitely one of the best in metal history weather people like it or not, you cannot deny his place in hard rock/metal history even kerry king said he was a guitar God. his guitar that he's showing right here is almost like a Randy Rhoads Jackson it's just a little bit different when it goes along the start of the neck an its the color of randys concorde aswell it's too bad that he liked to drink too much...he told the keyboard player in the band that he's going to drink until he dies...ruining your liver or your kidneys, everything in ur body slowly dies..so it's sad that he died from I don't know if the word is abuse but he definitely drank way too much and died way too soon.,.what was his actual cause of death? liver failure. ? idk alexi knew his esp model was def modelled after Randy Rhoads white jackson, strange how alexi never mentioned randy rhoads or wanting to make a guitar model very similar to Randy's
We're going back through our Rig Rundowns and picking out our favorite clips and reposting them. Some people aren't keen on watching a 30-minute video, but a more digestible snippet on a certain topic brings a bigger audience, and in result, hopefully engages with them enough that they check out the full video. (Full transparency: we got the idea from JRE Clips - Joe Rogan's subsidiary channel - and others that re-use their content to engage new/bigger audience.) Thanks for your feedback and support ... YOU make this channel a success.

I just don't get it. Why have a passive EMG with a gain boost? Why not just have an active EMG? He says it's different and it's more natural but I don't buy it. The gain boost would mess with any "natural" dynamics you'd get from the passive. And he never turns it off. in fact I'm pretty sure there's no way to turn it off.
It was just what he liked and he stuck to it. Before that he used a passive Jackson pickup with an active gainboost. I wouldn't choose it either but all of us have our own weird idiosyncracies; guitar is subjective at the end of the day.
the reason why is because he doesn’t have to push the gain on the amp, allowing the amp to give him more bite and definition while giving him the amount of gain he needed. usually when you push the gain on a JVM it gets muddy.

That's one of the reasons I loved him. No ego whatsoever. Which is pretty unheard of for a lead guitarist, and for a lead guitarist/frontman...
