Not 'possibly' a high place, it definitely was. Please tell the whole story of what archaeologists found here. Those standing stones were representations of Moloch and other pagan gods, not 'markers'. They found amongst other things; Snake Idols, a cave containing an alter with a charred infant skeleton upon it. They found numerous burial jars all about the site with charred infant skeletons in them. They found under the visible alter, the skeleton of a child cut in half. They found several large pits filled with charred infant skeletons. The plaque one reads at Gezer calls this place a 'Meeting Place", that is false and a lie. It was a high place for child sacrifice used by the people of Gezer. An abomination to God. Hence why God ordered their destruction.
