    For me, the Dead Sea Scrolls have shed so much light on the Bible. The Essenes must have been a very special group of believers. They understood the Messianic Age and the depths of eschatology. They knew so much even before Jesus was born. My apostolic teacher says that God reserved the Dead Sea Scrolls for the generation that would see the Second Advent of Christ. We need these higher mysteries to truly understand the Holy of Holies and angelomorphism. Amen!

      this is biased documentray you should check other sources about these scrolls, i cannot believe in trinity simply because all the prophets ( noah, abraham , moses) prior to jesus did not preach it and it's clearly a change from the true path. It's nonsense to believe that jesus died to wipe our sins and while all the previous prophets told there people that we will be judged on the actions we do, doing good leads to paradise and bad leads to hell.

      @@BeSaladin I think that the Trinity is not explicitly taught in the Old Testament, but it is certainly echoed throughout. Even in Genesis when God refers to himself in the plural when creating man (Genesis 1:26). Later in Genesis, after the Fall, we also see a clear foreshadowing of Jesus Christ and His atonement for our sins.
      In Genesis 3:14-15 we see God's plan for redemption already revealed. After the sin of Adam and Eve, God says to the serpent that He shall put enmity between the serpent and the woman's offspring. God then says that the offspring of the woman shall crush the head of the serpent, yet the serpent will also strike the heel of the offspring. On the cross of Calvary, Jesus crushed the power of sin and the devil once and for all, yet He also gave up His life to do so. I believe that this is a very clear and early picture of God's redemption plan that would be achieved through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. There are other pictures of this in the Old Testament as well, like Abraham's testing in being called to sacrifice his son Isaac, and Isaiah 53 regarding the Suffering Servant.
      Who else could the prophets be referring and alluding to other than Jesus with regards to the offspring of the woman in Genesis and the Suffering Servant in Isaiah 53?

    A special exhibition at the Washington Bible Museum opened in November 2017. Among the most valuable artefacts presented at the opening were the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, 16 of which are said to have been presented to visitors. The material in the exhibition was also analyzed by an independent scientific research team, and the results showed that all 16 of these fragments were modern counterfeits. Although the identities of the counterfeiters are still unknown, all 16 finds appear to have come from the same source, although they were purchased by the museum from four different vendors. Art Fraud Insights has now unveiled to the world the full report of the shocking fraud that the museum has not withheld either.

    From Qumran to the Jutland peninsula, known anciently as the Cimbric or Cimbrian peninsula, to Cumberland and Cumbria in the Brittonic "Old North", to Cambria in modern day Wales, these and others are the settlements of the Khumry and the Khumry are the Brits, Danes, Angles, Saxons, jutes and others. The Boman Catholic Church has no pretensions to being the primitive or apostolic church of Britain. It came in so late as a century and a half after the Saxon, and four centuries after the national establishment of the native British church. Christianity was exported to Rome from Britain in about AD37 by the British High King Caradoc and his grandson Linus was the first Bishop (though it was not called that at the time) before the office of Pope was created. Britain's hidden history is the key to world history.

    from what i understand it's incorrect that the dead sea scrolls are identical to modern texts. there are entire lines and paragraphs that are in the older texts. and more than just the book of esther is missing. the great isaiah scroll is not a complete scroll, it's mostly complete but it isn't all there. a second isaiah scroll was also found that also contains differences and is less in tact.
    according to the experts on the dead sea scrolls, there are a lot of differences that are more than a word, spelling, instead there are large chunks missing from the modern texts.
    i think christian's misrepresent the dead sea scrolls for their own reasons that they need the bible to be inerrant. but they're wrong.

      @@Smith-he6bg He may have been friendly with the Essenes, but I don't think he was one of them. Josephus sheds a lot of light on the Essenes in his book "Jewish Wars". I used to think they were only a separate community living in the desert, but this is not true. They lived all over in the cities and villages. They're the only major sect not mentioned in the Gospels. Probably because they didn't attack Jesus and weren't politically corrupted.

    There was indeed a group of people that sort of inhabited the Qumran caves but it wasn't the Essenes. Some researchers / scholars believe it was the group led by John the Baptist that actually compiled the scrolls and created the archive or library. For one thing, the Essenes was a heretical group according to one vlog I watched and they inhabited the area a distance away from Qumran. I go with this thinking so I'll just make a pass on this video because I don't agree with the opening premise referring to the Essenes.

      You do so to your own detriment, it tells a good deal about why the Dead Sea Scrolls are significant. At a time when there are many claiming the Holy Bible was made-up or altered later, the more familiar we are with apologetics and the true history of the faith, the better we can enact the Great Commission in this skeptical age.

      Yes, I agree. Check out scholar Ken Johnson who believes they were ( erroneously) Essenes, but if you substitute what he says with a people living there aligning with John the Baptist, he brings out some very interesting information direct from the scrolls, including the "Teacher of Righteousness" who appeared to them like in the Transfiguration.

    the spirit of Akhenaten has risen. The Essene waited for the King who removed all false gods and shown miracles signs and wonders to the people. He taught the Hebrew how to clean themselves. Qumran is structured from the temples of Amarna. It faces east at the rise of the Sun. The dead sea scrolls are his teaching. The copper scrolls speak of his treasure location. Once he returns to the temple all things will be his.

    Don’t forget there is still an odd 1000+ years between the writing of the dead sea scrolls and the actual events that supposedly took place.
    From a religious standpoint you may find this enough proof that the scriptures never changed between those 1000+ years because it didnt change for the last 2000+ years.
    But from a historical point of view. There no evidence that the old testament scriptures were never changed. On the contrary.

      Not sure where you are getting your info, but the Essenes were contemporary to Christ dating from approximately the 2nd century BC to the 2nd century AD. You may want to question your source because it is unreliable. As for the Dead Sea Scrolls themselves, they have been carbon dated numerous times and been dated to around the same time period.
      Consider this paper: www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.researchgate.net/publication/277186077_Radiocarbon_Dating_of_Fourteen_Dead_Sea_Scrolls&ved=2ahUKEwiA-sGT8cflAhVJrlkKHdnhDLMQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw2-qlHUsre1j0CoWOlSM3_Y

      @jefthabisschop238 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Archivist Hi, I appreciate your reaction.
      But I don’t think your getting my point. I’m not questioning the authenticity of the DeadSea Scrolls. I’m questioning the reliability of the content what is written in it.
      The time when the dead sea scrolls were written and when the events took place that were described in those scrolls have a huge time-gap.
      Lets say that the story of the Arch of Noah supposedly happend around 6.000BC. (I’m not discussing details, I’m sure there is ‘evidence’ that it happened later or ‘evidence’ that it happened sooner.) The dead sea scrolls were written around 200BC. It doesnt matter if the scrolls changed after 200 BC. The story of the Arch of Noah is still historically unreliable because there is a 3.800 year time gap. The same counts for the story of King David (800 year time-gap) etc.
      Religiously you may find it appealing. Sure. But it must not be considered historically reliable.
      Not just because of the time-gap. As a historian you also have to question the the author(s) who wrote the story. A (political) friend may write more in favor about you or himself than an enemy. That’s why the new testament isnt historically reliable. But thats another discussion ;)
      If you’re bored and wanna pass the time I highly recommend the video lecture ‘how Jesus became God) of historian and new testament expert Bart Ehrman. He’s an evangelical christian turned non-believer (like myself) thru mere logic.
      Anyway, I’m not expecting to change your mind on youtube. Just stay critical about things.
      God bless you. (thought I might return the favor ;) )

    • @LostArchivist
      @LostArchivist 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jefthabisschop238 I am vaguely familiar with his work as referenced in other people's work. I do not consider Ehrman a reliable source, and I disagree with his logic. I do not remember the exact details, my area of expertise is Microbiology, but look at the work of Dr.Grant Pitre and Dr.Scott Hahn. Basically Erhman's timeline does not match up with the evidence given on early Christianity by the Epistles of St.Paul, the Didache, nor many early Apostolic Fathers.
      Thank you by the way for being so cordial, it is a welcome change not to have my interlocutor assuming I am incapable of basic let alone formal logic. If we continued we would basically be speaking other languages, I believe. Between our expertise and our background in the Faith, there would be much in need of translation perhaps. Reason and evidence in my experience only buttress a person's will in this matter anyway, reason is an act of the intellect and informs the will, but faith is ultimately an act of the will. We believe or not by choosing to, all the rest is but to build up to it, or to build a wall between us and it. It is an epistemology question as much as it is a metaphysical one.

    • @jefthabisschop238
      @jefthabisschop238 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Archivist regarding your second alinea, I completely follow you. And I kind off agree with you. Ultimately it’s a persons will to choose what logic/faith he’ll follow.
      But there must be one truth. Just like a person who is been shot down by 1 bullet. There can only be one triggerman. If all the evidence suggests that person A, B and C could never have done it. Only thru miracles. Than a judge or a jury will never choose to follow that logic that one of them did it. Even if there were witnesses claiming person A pulled the trigger while person A is dead. Chances are higher that those witnesses are corrupted than an actual dead person shooting some one.
      So the key-thing is evidence and not so much logic. And all the evidence suggests that every religion is most likely illogical to believe in.
      It may be a false argument but there is a reason why most scientists are not following any religion. If the evidence suggests that one religion is true than the majority of scientists would follow that religion. But sadly there is no real evidence for any religion. Even tho it would be a more comfortable thought believing we live on in heaven after our deaths.
