I love the regret phase, it always happens with me and my dad while doing something new, we try to do something new and different and we end up making something very complex for no reason. But it is great to work with my dad.

I am at that phase right now converting my sprinklers to a drip irrigation system…doesn’t help that it’s 100+ degrees (Fahrenheit). But dad is proud of me as this is really the first project where I’m the lead and doing most of the stuff.

Nice build there Levi! Flagging tape or something bright on the end of the box might be ideal to prevent you from getting rear ended...

I’ve been building out my van with my dad who is a carpenter and that scene where Levi is just standing there trying to look useful just hit different. I’m not going to pretend that dad and I haven’t thrown tools at each other but it has been great to be in his world for a little bit. Love your work Levi & Leah

I think most people can relate to "working" with our parents. It's tough on both sides. I've had the opportunity to both work with my parent and work with my child. I think you struck a great balance with filming your Dad. Thank you "Dad" for sharing some of your talents with all of us. :)

Hey Guys! Not sure where it is on your build but make sure you aren't covering your hybrid battery vent! This could lead to the hybrid battery overheating, and failing prematurely. Good luck and safe travels!

Levi saying dad doesn't trust him using the tools even though he's used them before is so relatable! My father in law is really handy and helps us with all the diy we do on our section, but when my husband and him are doing things my husband isn't allowed to do much and projects get totally taken over 😂 if I'm out there helping, FIL teaches me and let's me do stuff, then at the end winds up my husband for not doing anything and it was just me and Dad doing all the hard work 😂😂

    • @LeahandLevi

HAHA oh man I read this comment out loud to Leah and mom and we all laughed. That's pretty much exactly how it goes down. 😂 He's trying though!

That's so great you have professional help and access to tools. A little note if you haven't noticed already is to make sure the bed build doesn't block access to the filter (passenger side, that little grated area) for when it needs to be switched out. I ended up having to notch my build out a little after the fact which wasn't a huge deal but your build also looks way nicer :)

    • @LeahandLevi

⚠️Guys when sanding, even when working outside, you should wear a mask so you do not breath the fine wood dust into your lungs!
Great build. Your dad might not like being on film, but he did a great job. I hope the project brought you closer together and didn't cause friction.

Have you guys talked to your car insurance company about what you are doing here? You might want to crack open your auto policy to make sure there is not an exclusion for coverage for having the covered vehicle also be your residence.
I know it’s an exclusion with the company I work for because my friend had to deny a claim because during the process we figured out they were living in the vehicle.
Also, since you don’t really a non-moving residence, I would suggest getting an inland-maritime insurance policy to protect yo stuff.

Yeah, Loctite is thread sealant glue can be a pain, but it’s color coded: blue is semi-permanent so you can break the bond, but red is permanent. (There’s also green for something that’s already assembled, it’s able to wick down around the threads before it sets. I haven’t seem much green to know if it’s permanent or not.)
