She doesn’t use any electronic devices except for a cell phone that is for emergencies only....and I have to say she’s one of the most content people I’ve ever met.

Glad to see David is still enjoying his lifestyle; I saw other videos of his set-up some time ago. I have a 2014 Prius V wagon I am setting up for camping/travel. I'm 6'3" and can fit in the space comfortably on a 75" x 40" trifold without removing seats. The "V" is for versatile: you can also lay either front seat (with headrest removed) all the way back to meet the back seat, which reclines, and have lounge chairs. Not sure I want to mess with the electric system, not because you can't, but I don't know really know how and don't really think I need to if I use a Jackery to charge when not in Ready mode... and don't think I really need a fridge with my "vegan mostly" diet. They changed a lot in 2016, my year. The biggest change is the location of the 12v battery. Yours is in the back near the wheel well. This makes adding AWG wiring for an inverter quite a bit more challenging because it requires breaching the firewall, which is never easy.

Similar info here also applies to other Toyota hybrids. 2021 Sienna (btw all Siennas will by hybrids...but the 1500 watt a/current plug-in socketnot in all trims) not yet at my dealership...supposed to be this fall but delayed due to COVID?
Hello, Do you worry about mold inside the Prius when living in it? I’m starting to live in a Prius and worried about mold collecting under the foam mattress due the condensation
In a prius you simply run the AC the car will run the battery down to power the AC then kick on the generator to recharge the battery and continue the cycle. It's pretty effecient uses about 1/2 gallon of gas for the entire sleep over.
Can the 2020 Prius also keep the AC on all night? I’m debating whether to buy a new Prius. I don’t car camp but the lifestyle interests me. I also need the climate control option. It’s very hot in my state. A small cargo van will not cut it for me. Wouldn’t keeping the Prius on affect the life of the battery in the long run? I think he has too much stuff in the car btw lol. I would only use one set of clothes and just eat out.
If you search youtube videos for prius camper conversions, there is a solo woman that said she kept her climate control on for a month (I think it was even longer) non-stop! Toyota technology is incredible, especially their air conditioner compressor that is battery powered and not connected to the engine with a fan belt. If the Prius is too small for your liking, the 2021 Sienna van is right around the corner, it's going to by a hybrid too.
Warren Kawamoto thanks but I decided I’m gonna get a small cargo van. I need something that’s easy to clean and the Prius is gonna be a nightmare to clean out lol. Or I might get a small pickup. Thanks for the info. I think I saw that video you mentioned too btw.
@@Catman1798 Joel aside from stealth , take a look at renting a small class C. (it's got a generator like a prius for climate control) it has plenty of head room like a high top van would, it has a full bathroom (so some creature comforts) a kitchen, and a bed, lots of storage etc if you use the bunk area for that . You can access the front drivers area or the rear area from the inside so it's not like a prius or a tow behind where you generally have to get out of the bed area via a hatch or side door to get to the drivers seat if you need to leave or get ready for bed...you don't have to go outside, just move from here to there with ease. If you are driving and feel the urge to go 1,2 or 3 , just pull over into a parking lot and do your business. Pull into a park someplace and sleep a few hours etc. if you are road weary. The downside would be daily driving might get expensive compared to a van 8 mpg rather than 20-24? But if you are the type that parks in nature for a week or two? it's far easier to do that in a C than even a Van and compared to a Prius both are less of a coffin like sleeping existance. Toss a few hundred into renting a C for a weekend or a week before you pull the trigger on a cargo van.

Everybody's an individual. Every Prius has the air conditioning and heating feature
EPIC
Where do you go to the bathroom?
Couldn't you travel with a trailer behind with your things in like stove etc!?
I think that kind of defeats the purpose of a Prius.
Thank you.
Can you please provide a link to the induction stove? That's great how you can cook safely inside of your vehicle!
Just Google it. I use a NuWave model.
Anyone have experience camping with 2017 Prius Prime (electric charger)? The battery takes up so much room and height.
Thank you for sharing! 👍😊
What year is your Prius?
What do people do about the airbag light that comes on when they remove their seat like that?
@andy bosik not true for all vehicles
If it's just a light I'd ignore it. 😁
What part of AZ are you in?
Looks like the Quartzite area. I know that Bob Wells sleeves a lot of time there.
Nice.
