This is an outstanding video. You managed to answer questions that would come up with a very thorough and detailed walkthrough. Thank you so much. I just found your travlfi 5G video I’m going to watch now, since I’m in the market for mobile internet as well. Thanks again.
You Rock! Thanks so much for the detail explanation of how to wire in the added lights to the Awning & Step button on the BMPro. You did a great job of explaining the process and I love your workmanship. Your videos are much appreciated! Also, adding a link to the products you use is very helpful and a large time saver. Keep the videos coming!
looks like my post disappeared? Is that because I posted a reply with a link? Anyway, got the mod done...thanks for all the help. Both awning lights pull 1 amp and the step/downwash LED's pull 1.7 amps.
Possibly? Sometimes TH-cam will take comments down or moderate without letting the rest of us know. You can try again to see if it'll go through. Thanks for the amp info!
I believe it's saying if you want to power the lights off a standard 120V outlet then you'd need an AC adapter, but since I just wired into the existing 12V DC system of the RV, no adapter was necessary in my case.
The front cap LED in my 2022 377RLBH also had water intrusion damage which mostly occurred at the low point. The tubes are about 1/4" too short and do not recess into the silver caps that are secured with a screw. Jayco or dealer applied silicone to fill the gap but did a poor job. The water accumulated in the low point of the tubing and has resulted in approximately 12" of LED lights not working. I understand you reused the tubing and I see the link for the LED tape. Thanks for providing that info. Curiously, how do I connect the LED tape? I haven't removed the end caps to take a look. Thanks!
It must be a common problem as I've heard same story from about a half dozen folks since I encountered it. I agree it seems they aren't putting silicone on the tube ends leading the the failure combined with the silver caps not fully covering. Facing the front of fifth wheel, mine was wired off to the right side with a very small hole in the fiberglass for the wires. I carefully removed them and pulled out enough slack to sauder the new strip to the wires. They were very thin gauge of course. I'd imagine alt access would be from inside by taking closet wall apart, but that seemed more difficult to me. I'd venture to guess there may even be a wago connector inside there, but too big of course to get through the hole in fiberglass so that's why I saudered and covered with heat shrink, pushed them back into hole. I also then siliconed that hole as it looked like they sealed from the inside originally. I almost wouldn't trust a regular dealer to do a proper job on something like that under warranty not knowing if they'd seal it up thoroughly to prevent from happening again.
@@AdventureRocks Thanks again. I’ll be sure to inspect it carefully if I let the dealer do the repair. I also have a TPMS unit that I cannot get to pair. I didn’t notice it until I got home from the dealer. Any experience with those?
@@firstgenfarmer9809 I believe the TMPS sensor are based on bluetooth like the rest of the sensors, but I could be mistaken. I had a temp sensor quit pre-mature and turned out the battery was just shot. They must have had faulty battery as soon as I replaced it, came back as expected. So that's possibility. I've also noticed that the BMPro TMPS sensors only update every so often and might have some kind of "sleep" mode as sometimes I won't see all of mine till I've been on road moving. You could try re-seating battery first, then let a little PSI out to see if that activates it successfully. Worst case swap batteries with another and see if problem follows the battery or unit?
Yes, the LED strip (blue) for nose cap is amzn.to/3NtZirC I re-used the existing "tube" after cleaning it (I had almost like a soot from the shorting out I suppose). Anyway, I was able to slide in the new LED just barely into the tube. I used some soap as lubrication to get it to slide all the way as it got pretty hard toward the end of tube. Then I cut to length LED strip at designated line and wired it back in. Yes, you can do full length on down lighting, but I believe you'd need to add a separate switch + power compared to existing BMPro channel as the two strips on either side are about max for what an individual channel can handle wattage-wise. On my last rig I just did two separate switches inside the rig by stairs that controlled right and left. Hope this helps!
I enjoy your videos very much. I bought a 2022 Jayco Pinnacle in June. The only thing is my Right Turn Signal and Brake light don't work.Would you have any idea where the problem might be?
Thank you. Sorry to hear about your light issue. Since it is only the right turn and right brake, they share same wire (full bright essentially vs parking half bright), so I would imagine it is isolated to just that particular wire. I discovered on my Jayco with the JaySmart system, there is a hub/controller near propane tank driver side where the regular conventional wires connect from the 7-way and then distribute to the various lights. The JaySmart takes the conventional input and then sends signals to the various lights as needed. So the wiring is a bit different compared to a conventional unit without the JaySmart. All that to say there should be a dedicated "homerun" wire going from your JaySmart hub/controller that goes to the rear right tail full bright (3 separate wires actually for full bright, half bright, and reverse). My guess is somewhere in that signal path is the culprit. First guess would be possibly the wire got disconnected at the actual taillight itself (there will probably be sealant around it, but if you remove you can check that...they may have used crimp or wire lever nut there). Second guess would be a possible failure of the tail light itself...less likely if the half-bright for parking works (would need to replace entire light if bad though). Third guess would be a possible cut/break in the wire between taillight and JaySmart hub (would need to run new homerun wire or splice the break). Anyway, those are my first ideas provided it is just the full bright not working on just the right side.
@@AdventureRocks Also i ment to tell you the side markers don't work on right side when turn signal is on like the left side does. thanks so much for your response.
@@carltontester9171 All right, in that case I wonder if your 7-way connector is making good contact on pin # 6? If I'm understanding correctly the tail/running lights work properly, but the brake and right turn signal don't work at all. If that is the case, I believe the signal from pin #6 (right turn/stop) is not getting to the JaySmart system to begin with. Thankfully this is an easier fix typically. I had intermittent problem on mine one time where the pins on my truck just weren't "grabbing" the connector in full and I had to gently bend the sleeves inside 7-way connector plug to hug them tighter. I also applied di-electric grease to ensure no corrosion. I could be mistaken, but I think that might be culprit? But if you find 7-way connector is solid all around, then next to check would be wire between 7-way in pinbox running to JaySmart...could have wiggled loose there too. The JaySmart module is labeled with diagram on it. Either way let us know how it turns out.
Very nice detail!!!!😀
Thank you

Can you share a link to the nose cap light please. I wondering if it is possible to do the down lighting down the full length of the trailer.

Everyone one says the blue lights keeps rats & mice away?
Not sure about the mice and blue lights. Can't affirm or deny that myself at least.
