    I recently went to the dealership they charged me $500 to simply tell me that this piece was the issue and that it had been discontinued. I purchased on rock auto and did myself. Thank you.

    This video was truly amazing. I had the Stabilitrak, Traction control service system light as well as ABS light on. Had the code downloaded from Autozone: C0050-00 and C0455-00. Most likely suspect was the steering wheel position sensor connector. Purchase it from rock auto for $50 bucks. All the tools specified in your video were spot on except I needed a Torque 25 bit for the bracket on the steering column. Had that sucker done in about an hour.
    Once again thank you so much for this video it really helped out tremendously. Couldn't have done it without it and I definitely save hundreds of dollars versus taking it to a dealership.

    taping the steering wheel to lock it in place to prevent the clock spring from breaking is definitely the PRO TIP that will prevent the release of alot of very foul language. Good looking out! I am about to do this same replacement as I have already tested the wheel speed sensors (at all 4 wheels) and the brake switch (at the brake pedal assembly). Those devices and circuits were good, so that left just this wheel position sensor as the fault.
    Here were the symptoms of the problem for my 2011 GMC sierra for anyone interested: The stablitrack and traction control and abs light would illuminate ONLY when coming to a stop. However, when engine turned off and turned back on, those warn lights extinguished. My instincts from this symptom led me to believe that there was a wheel speed sensor issue (because applying brakes to stop showed the warn), or from the brake switch (again from applying brakes to stop which tripped the these fault warnings to display). However, this is where intuition isn't reliable, even though from a common sense aspect one would be led to believe one or both of those two systems were the root cause. This is where troubleshooting proves that common sense and intuition has it's limits. Turns out those systems and devices were no causing the fault. I replaced those devices...all wheel sensors and and connectors and inspected the wiring and did a ring out of the wiring too. Same with the brake switch. Even though they checked out okay, this is a 11 year old truck. Those things are going to fail sooner than later, so why not get them replaced now ! But, Nope..not those things. Warn lights still pop on braking to a stop. So that leaves the wheel position sensor. So that is next.
    I appreciate the 1-2-3 and tooling for this part replacement. Very good and thankS!

      Hey I got the same issue, ABS and stabilitrak and traction control come on either in rain, or when i come to a stop but only comes on sometimes, sometimes it doesn’t come on at all. I was gonna replace the input sensors first, but after ready this i’m gonna do what was said in this video, this comments helped me a lot so i’m basically thanking you because our issue is exactly the same and now i’ve diagnosed it, hopefully it fixes my staibiltrak problem. it’s a 2010 silverado btw, thanks!

    FIXED! My 2014 gmc acadia slt was showing traction control off and service stabilitrak after just a few mins of driving after about 35mph if I accelerated more than 1/3 throttle the truck would cut power in quick intervals making the drivetrain shake hard. So after finding that my brake switch sensor was always triggering the lights to be on and it had to do with the slack that built up over the years in my brake peddle... changing the sensor wouldn't fixed the problem... so I added a small piece of plastic to the sensor to fix the problem. I've been driving it alot over the last few weeks with zero problems! Hope this helps someone.

    My boss has been fighting this issue forever with his 2010 to the point dealerships have given up on it. Its bad enough it randomly goes into limp mode and he has to take the battery cable off and hard reset it. I'm not sure if they've tried this yet. Anyone else have it this severe and this fixed it? Thanks

    Not exactly true, I have a 2012 Silverado, my abs, stabilitrak , and traction lights came on and took it to autozone and ran the scanner and it said right rear wheel speed sensor, changed it and fixed it. Point is, it could be other things besides this, just take it to the part store and scan it

      Yes every video says Stabiltrac fix. What they all fail to realize is that is just a generic message much like the old cars used to flash the check engine in different patterns. This told the mechanic where issue was. With ABS Stabiltrac it can be 50 different other things besides this.... I've got it on our Denali and still ain't figured it out.....

    2015 silverado -- Stabilitrac and 4wd service flash, gauges go crazy have had it into Chevy dealer three times they cant find the problem. Have blamed it on aftermarket break for my trailer and aftermarket auto start. Have disconnected both and problem continues. This should be a recall and find the problem, they say it is not throwing a code. This last time the check engine light came on, bring back this week to see what they say now.

    does the body computer control the stabilitrack or does it have its own computer? I have had three different sensors in mine, all auto salvage parts because you cannot buy new ones from gm any more. I have to keep clearing the codes to make my truck work right

    • @LH81633
      @LH81633 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Rossiter sensor is under driver seat!! But STOP!!! These cars are full of sensors that cuase a chain reaction!! Mechanics often chase their own tail with scanner chasing codes!!! Start simple! Top off fluids! 2. Replace air filter if dirty. 3. Replace/regap spark plugs if not too far gone!.4. Throw in some very strong fuel injector cleaner as you may have s clogged fuel injector!! Note!! Fuald plugs will most likely be the 1,3,5,7 banks!! I used 1 gallon of laquar thinner and a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner with 10 gallons of fuel!! Ran it till empty! Lots of these fuels now have ethanol so build up is happening! Also take car to a reputable shop like firestone and have a tire rotation done it’s a cheap way to go as it comes with a free inspection, they will inspect your car and tell you if you have bad wheel hubs as that can also set it off!

    I added a new ground from the firewall to the block (2009 Saturn Vue 2.4L Gasoline). It has been running well since I made the MOD, about a week ago, It started showing just last night, but I noticed that if I kept the Heat low blowing neutral temp, and positioned it toward the accelerator pedal, that I had NO “Stabilitrak” issue? I will now concentrate on the accelerator sensor as a probable “Fix”? Please add your comments regarding this problem!

    • @LH81633

      treebeard9000 replace air filter if dirty!! Regap or replace plugs if too far gone!! Also put some very good fuel injector cleaner in tank as you may have a clogged injector!!! The jerking has to do with computer shutting things down do to sensors not properly telling it what’s wrong!!! In short!! You have a bad fuel ai ratio and all these sensors are confused!!!

    My 2016 silverados problem was the brake vacuum pump which I just found out that Chevy gave a specialty warranty for it, it should have been a recall because I never got anything telling me they gave the warranty to everyone with certain model and years. If I wouldn't have been bored and decided to see what warranties I had left I wouldn't have even known it and the warranty is only good for 72000 and I had just hit 70k
