  • Was fortunate to try Flevobikes Orca Velomobile with E-Assist when I had my Strada for service at velomobilcenter.dk.
There is only one thing to say: Dear Santa :-). It is on my wish list now

This is the velomobile that has been the perfect description of what I would want to get if I'm to purchase a velomobile.
I've had various types of surgeries within my left leg. I have had fractured femur, broken ball joint, and full knee replacement. So that's where the assist would be of great help. And the kind of steering is also a favorite of mine because I ride a Terra Trike Tour II GT recumbent tadpole trike. And the kind of steering also helps with the elbow replacement for my right elbow.

At 1.51 min you wrote that the E-assist is 25 km/h. That is the normal topspeed for an E-bike. Above that speed no assist. You can buy a speed pedelec witch go till 45 km/h, but in my country (The Netherlands) you have to wear an helmet, it is more considered as a scooter. What I find strange that you still changing modes, while your speed is way over the 25 km/h. I would expect that there is no assist above 25 km/h. So no reason changing modes.

As it was one of my first rides in a Orca, I just tested the "modes", also to see how much the "torque" was in different modes, when I meet a "Hill". If I had a velomobile with e-assist now, I would always use the higest mode, as change the modes all the time is not efficient. Then only concentrate on pedaling, and have battery(s) with more power

@@VelostradaDk1 I can understand you change modes, but all under 25 km/u. You change modes higher then 25 km/u and then there is no assist . That is my point.

@@leojonkers3181 I know your point 😉. As written it was one of my first rides in Orca. I changed the modes, when assist was not in use (above 25 km/h), but it was to see what happen or how the e-assist would feel when I got under the 25 km/h in different modes. I should probely have written it in the video. Since that ride I have testet it on a longer tour, and also tested a system on my Strada, and my experience is that If I ever get an e-assist again I will set it in the higest mode all time, and let it be there always.

Arthur van der lee I follow developments .. you know kids start these days with a power-driven three-wheel things like toy tractor, car, etc. Ergo, I must have become younger :-)
And I hate uphill as much as you :-)
