    I like both, but Highland homes has an edge, I like the way you explained things in a detailed way, I really appreciate your time and effort

      I have personally conducted deep research in to several builders and Highland being one of them. When I started my homebuilding company, I patterned it after Highland.     Toll Brothers usually make homes with secondary bedrooms almost like shoe box. With tyne storage. Whether closets or walk-in closet. But this house was different. It’s very nice.

      That is a call that is made by the builder, by community on an "as needed" basis. Highland doesn't sell the furniture too much anymore as their interior designer IBB owns most of it. But IBB is open to the public (my wife loves the warehouse in the back). Other builders do more often, but it is not a consistent trend.

      Property taxes can be perceived as extremely high...and when comparing new developments to older established neighborhoods it can really be sticker shock. Overall home ownership has to be "valued" with dollars. Collin County appreciated on average a little over 5% last year. If you think the $1,000-$3,000 more in taxes is not worth the 4-6% appreciation if you are buying right, well that's ok. On the other hand some people just get priced out of the house they want and blame it on the taxes. But remember there are up to 5+ parts/factors of a mortgage....Price, down payment, Principal, Interest, Term, Taxes, Insurance (property or hazard) and Mortgage Insurance if you put less than 20% down and can't buy your way out due to a lower credit score. So which one ticks you off or place you out of the purchase? It's easy to pick on taxes...and I agree...some are more eye opening than others. That's why working with as EXPERT ADVISOR ahead of time, to make sure you are aware of the part/factors and the bottom line to your personal affordability, is critical. Phil Martin

    Masterplanned tract homes. Plus on a good day it will take an hour to get to Dallas annnnnd you will have to drive to Frisco to do anything. Let’s not mention the unbearable heat here. Oh yea, and when the house settles and it will I hope you have $50k plus for foundation repairs

      I have lived I. Frisco for three decades and no my foundation hasn’t failed but plenty of homes around me have. So do you guarantee your foundations in Texas? I bet not cause you know they will fail
