Hi! just got mine with a free 8gb ram upgrade but only came with 4800mhz will it have any problem inserting a diff frequency on ram? plus i'm having a problem with latency issue i've been encountering some random spike the temps are fine but the gameplay experience sucks with this random render latency spike. should i worry with the unit i got?

Even i am getting 100C temps , even on 65W. Seems there was an update to the vantage software, and the fans dont seem to be running at full unless you set it to full in custom mode. Setting the fan curve to the highest setting still is not as fast as setting it to full directly.
Do you believe 2tb ssd will work in the second slot? The lenovo website says its limited to 1tb for some reason

Actually 😅 the full specs custom laptop actually cost LESS. ...way less than even the max by on Amazon or Flipkart. But we need to wait 1 month. But it's worth the money + full specs :)

I noticed that your CPU voltage stayed locked at 1.010V during the entire gameplay. I have the LOQ 15 with the same specs, but my 7840HS is getting A LOT hotter, and my voltage is going up to 1.519. Is something wrong with my CPU? It reaches 90 degrees at 50W.

I feel that a big problem with "value" in a laptop is the screen qualities. People think they are getting a great deal but in my opinion I would probably take a better looking display with a higher build quality and a bit lower specs on the inside.

That does seem low, but it should be enough for near full performance or full performance. I am sure you could buy a 230w adapter.
If the battery is draining under load, then you could try undervolting the gpu and lowering the cpu power limits when under dual cross load.

From Lenovo documentation, LOQ and Slim 5 using the same metal plate and mainboard desgin. I wonder what is the reason why LOQ 16 corners are bendy than Slim 5.
LOQ does not use metal, it is all plastic build.

Sounds normal, but you can tune fan noise in Lenovo Vantage in custom fan mode if you want

Ryzen 7 7840HS is better imo. If it was the intel HX verison it would be more of a toss up.
@@GizmoSlipTech Agreed. The Intel Hx can Undervolt, this otherwise superior Phoenix 7840HS can't be Undervolted I don't believe (however the 7940HS version can be Undervolted). These 8 core Zen 4 mobile cpu's are so power efficient and can maintain and sustain high clock speeds at good wattage, giving them the edge over their Intel counterparts which guzzle power, and the extra E-cores can't overcome the raw advantage from full zen 4 cores, and the E-cores don't help at all for gaming (potentially the opposite).
Also one other advantage of these Phoenix Apu's is that the Igpu is a powerful 780m, which is nearly on par with a Gtx 1060 assuming fast Ram for good Memory Bandwidth (the Lenovo Legion with DDR5 5600mhz Ram is good, the ideal would be Lpddr5x at 7500mhz but gaming laptops don't have that). Alot of older games/emulators will run incredibly well on it, allowing one to disable the Dgpu and solely use the Phoenix Apu, getting much better battery life while gaming (potentially more than double) if that sounds appealing.

4070 with tdp about 105W.. this is absolutely useless if we are talking about 4th generation of RTX.. My 3060 in Legion 5 has 130W and 300W power supplying for entire laptop
In this case Acer Nitro 5 with 3070Ti 150W would be more powerful option for buying
It's because of how efficent the 4 NM ADA architecture is. It literally just doesn't need to pull more than 105W typically to reach max GPU clock speed. RTX 5000 series will have more cuda cores and be pulling higher 130-150W again for the RTX 5060-5070 if I were to make a prediction.

Laptop is great until you hear how bad the display is. Worth getting the Dell G15 RTX 4060 instead?
Color gamut is almost irelevant if it's not calibrated. The full hd, 144hz, 350 nits in the LOQ is a good display especially if it's factory calibrated like the Legion lineup.
