I went in 135… came out 205 jacked! I put on 30lbs just from eating regularly.
The most common workout routine is 10*10. 10 pull-ups, 10 dips, 10 push ups is 1 set! Normally done 5-7 times a week (consistency)
1st The average person is not eating 3 meals a day on the streets, in prison you eat 3-4 meals a day.
2nd On the streets most people have a hard time getting enough recovery sleep, however in prison you have a bedtime with no lights and no tv so you are getting adequate quality sleep.
3rd the majority of inmates either experience newbie Gaines or muscle memory kicks in.
    Lastly semen retention !!!!!

I went in at 195 lbs, and came out at 220. Could do 20 (in a row) wide grip pull-ups ,several times. Dips all day long. Had to add two 45 lb plates to my dips. I would use the high pull-up bar to get my 280lb friend up on my shoulders, and squat him all day. Had to have him push down to give more resistance. I had to pay him a honey bun every time, but it was a smart investment. He got heavier and I got stronger. I felt indestructible when I walked out into society again.

The downside was I became more disconnected with my marriage and kids. So I left the military to fix my family relationship and disconnected my obsession with physical fitness. From my 25 years of state prison experience ( recently retired ) typically as a weightlifter , fitness trainer my self , the last people you usually have trouble with were the guys working out consistently . They were more focused on their goals and didn’t want to lose gym/ yard privileges. It was actually pretty neat to see older more seasoned inmates shall we say take a young guy under their wing and turn him around from being on our radar as a turd who always starting shit to a young man who was hustling cleaning bowls or working in dietary , dorm help whatever to get muscle mags or Arnold’s encyclopedia of bodybuilding . Then they have a goal a focus something to keep them driven .

I used to work at a correctional facility and they hit the nail on the head with the why. We didn't have weights but we had a pull-up and dip station and dudes would just literally do those and bodyweight squats (pistols for some) 3 times a day. And walk laps in the common room during their free time. Also, as I did my wellness check rounds, there were always a handful of guys doing push-ups or sit-ups or even inverted rows from there desk that was bolted to the wall in their cell. So these guys literally just worked out all day, and read a ton of books because that's the only other thing to do when you're tired from working out. Bonus note: the guys that were either always reading or working out were definitely the more 'well-behaved' individuals over the guys that just slept all day between meals.

I’ve never been in prison, but was in county jail for 360 days. I was a weightlifter/bodybuilder, I went in at 225 and was bulking up, so atleast 15% bodyfat. When I got out, I was 198 and somewhere around 8 to no more than 10% BF. You don’t get as much protein, but you do get plenty of carbs, and some good fats. Plus you sleep a lot more, so your body has the time to recover. Most stuff was bodyweight...you were allowed to pick out 3 books each week. So, you’d find one you were interested in and the other 2 would just be the biggest and heaviest on the cart. Most of the pod would put these books in a sheet and we’d pass it around and do curls, overhead tricep extensions, and squats. We’d also do alot of arm wrestling but as an exercise, not a competition. You wouldn’t jerk and try to slam the guys arm down, you’d just use all your strength in a controlled way to slowly push. Among some others. Those that didn’t workout and spent most of the day watching tv would just get fat. Point being, I went in with a bulky winter body and came out with a body ready for the beach, even though it was winter time. We did alot of card game workouts. Instead of money or food(sometimes food) you’d bet say 10 pushups for example. One game was a high card pushup game. Didn’t matter how many people, each would draw a card, the 2 with the highest cards would draw again. The guy that originally drew the highest card would throw down his card 1st, then the 2nd guy. Aces were 1’s, most of the time. Face cards were 10’s but if both drew a face card the 2nd one would be a zero....so it would be 100 pushups, 2 aces would be 111. So the smallest amount would be 12, and that’s what everyone in the group had to do. All the tv people would always be willing to trade their beans or morning milk for a breakfast cake. And it’s hard to say without being tested, but you feel like your testosterone levels are higher when you’re just around a bunch of men for an extended time. I believe this to be true because when you first get there, girls you wouldn’t even glance at started looking good after a few weeks. It was weird because people that had been to prison would say how much better it is, as far as the food, and being able to go outside. That almost drove me crazy, not being able to go outside.

Americans have this misconception that you need to eat a lot and drink 2-3 gallons of water to get jacked. When in fact you don't really need so much food. I got jacked in a few months by just doing push ups, pull ups, lots of ab exercises and handstand exercises, 2-3 times a day, plus walking/running. And I ate only two times a day. In the morning I ate nuts with fruits and in the afternoon I ate a bowl of beans with veggies. Drank half a gallon. For me the key was sleeping early. That was a game changer.

I went into the penitentiary at 185 ripped I came out 240 jacked and ripped. You have the opportunity to eat decent. You have many protein sources on commissary and they serve veggies at chow. You indeed workout everyday and are always active plus you get plenty of rest. Rest is more vital than lifting!! I learned so much in prison from 18-24. I truly rehabilitated myself. On my own. And it was truly the hardest thing I've ever done. But I've changed my life and mindset.

I know a guy who did grease the groove with single clap push ups and squat jumps and did heavy single arm curls.
He would do half his max reps, 4-6 times a day. Consistently for 12 days, then two days off, on day 15 retest.
In a year he gained 20 kilo of muscle. First day in the gym he benched 180kilo. Could do 70 single clap push ups in a row.
I don't know him now, but this was 4 years ago, he was a guy who rented my neighbourhood house to do a job temporarily.

Our liver cant metabolize alcohol simultaneously with allowing protein synthesis to occur. That's a huge handicap for the best intentioned dedicated non incarcerated body building enthusiasts regardless often or how much training they do. Working in the kitchen, you serve breakfast, clean the kitchen, then you get a few hours until lunch. So you work out after breakfast, then go make lunch. Then go work out after lunch, and go make dinner. Then after dinner, go work out.
Take ya shower, hit the store, watch a lil TV before lights out.
    Sleep like a rock.

Number 1 thing I see wrong with these vids and comments is there are NO rules in workouts in prison. All the can't work the same muscle everyday and limit the reps. Just go hard everyday until you're doing max push-ups, pull-ups, dips with the big dogs

In the UK it’s a combination of circuit training with weights at Gym, usually once a day depending on the Prison and pad workouts which consist of body weight movements push-ups, sit-ups, etc
Meals are mostly carb rich and low in protein, potatoes, chips, sandwiches, the occasional lasagna, a carton of milk with cereal, etc they can buy snacks with money sent in or if they’re banded / work but the range is pretty limited pot noodle - chocolate- fizzy pop.
If they get a VO they can get a little extra from the visiting centre but it’s mostly chocolate.
Obviously they can get gear, but it simply boils down to a lack of alcohol ( nobody really drinks hooch ), no takeaways and daily heavy weights.

Answering a question about getting jacked in “Prison” without even being in prison? Or did i listen incorrectly?
    1. Brining in steroids could not fit in a bundle getting into prison. Drugs are more valuable than steroids.
    2. They have workout magazine for us to learn from, they also have t.v and convicts who know how to workout and teach others
    3. You are able to get a calorie surplus EASILY, if you have the money in your books to buy extra protein/calories and if you trade enough you can get enough.

A big thing these "How Do Prisoners Get So Jacked" videos are missing is intermittent fasting. Prisoners mainly eat two meals a day within an 8hr window period. They go hungry or without food for the rest of the day. During fasting is when your body releases growth hormone and builds muscle. Exercise combined with IF is a powerful tool. I've done it and has lost weight like it's noting.

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.”

I was in prison from 18 to 21. Yes we got jacked FAST. It’s ROUTINE it’s definitely not working out more we had to fight for gym time. It’s almost impossible to get lean in prison because of all the stodgy food they were feeding us.
It’s DEFINITELY NOT STEROIDS. You guys are extremely out of touch with this. I’m talking about the 4 different UK Prisons I was in during 2 separate sentences.
The main thing is you are forced to go to bed at 7pm every night and if you’re in a good Prison a cooked breakfast is served at 7am. Steroids has NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Huh? Smuggling food? You can get postal order money sent in and buy packets of Tuna on your canteen.
Newbie gains had something to do with too yes i agree with that part. Bread used to be in an unlimited amount in the servery so I used to eat a whole loaf with my 3 meals a day. And drink lots of milk from your canteen too (long life stuff).
Yes we used to get a light for a cigarette from the plug socket with a plastic spoon and shower gel. A plastic mirror and ripped bed sheet would make a line which we would throw under our door to cross lines with the next pad to move items such as matches and cigarette paper around.
Fluff off a tracksuit top and a flint would also light a roll up cigarette… There’s just too much to cover in a single comment but sleep and routine is the main reason why incredible growth happens in Prison. Not steroids lol that’s just crazy to say. It’s hard enough to sneak in a phone and couple of pills let alone an entire course of steroids that get varied results anyway.
You could spot the rare guys that got some Nap 50’s In because they had spots and acne all over there backs and face… They are the best Prison steroid because of strength but you lose those gains rapidly !
Sleep routine and clockwork living is the way I would sum it up.
    Peace.

I did eat bad carbs alot I love sweets. But I jogged 5 days a week for 30 mins, I did 200 to 300 squats and push-ups and 50 pull-ups and 50 dips. For me I felt I got better gains with body weight training and I did all the basic exercises for those 20 months. I may have not lost all my belly fat but it shaped up my stomach alot better, my belly no longer hangs over my pants. Also you still get the results within 3 to 4 months. My shirt and pant size never changed but I tell ya I ate whatever I wanted and put all the fat in the right places and shaped me up better. Felt awesome after my release.
