Stand the grater up on the board and go up & down, much easier than pushing the cheese against it and having to counter the push with your opposite hand.
Hi I was wondering if i only have yellow onion can I add sone green onions to it and a little salt and black pepper to the oniopns whiles they are cooking for a little more flavor or is the salt in the cheeses enough to flavor the cheese? Thanks
I’ve actually used yellow onions in place of the Vidalia onions when they were not available and it turned out great. Not sure how the green onions would taste since this is really a sweet onion dish but if you try it and it’s better than min be sure and let me know! I’m always up for something new! 😊
I can’t recommend this simply because VIDALIA onions have a much sweeter flavor than other onions but you could always give it a try! VIDALIA onions are rather large and I’m guessing they might be around 8-12 ounces each (obviously it varies) so if you’re really brave you can shoot for 4 of those 12 ounce bags. Let us know how it turns out!

This grater is a bit wonky; it survived our house fire and bends easily when I stand it up, thus I continue to build muscles the hard way. 😆

Could I substitute thawed from frozen pearl onions for this recipe? How many 12 oz bags would you recommend?
