Very nice video... I've done very similar and learning a lot.. the alternating holes between neutrals only blocked flow.. if you're using tap water you get brown sludge, distilled water stayed clean.. so take use of tap water.. !!!.. You'll find flux leakages from the hole causing a burn mark on the opposing plate.. oxidisation side of current flow... Nice video .. Thom in Scotland.
You can also reuse an old battery casing to make wetcell instead of drycell. Battery casing are made the way they are because it's the best way to hold a corrosive electrolyte with the least chances of leakage.

Hi, I'm looking for a bit of advice here, I'm looking to purchase off eBay some, silver solder , ( rods as you have ) .. and a hand held torch, used for browning food , daft as it seems it gets up to a fine temperature.. the flux type confuses me some what...so any experience advice welcome... 316 s/s ... 0.90 mm thick ... Whilst strips also .... s/s are ONLY 0.20 mm thick to allow me .manipulation of lead offs.. Correct flux type is confusing.. any advice gratefully received... Thom in Scotland.
Hi Thom. You can go to a refrigeration spares shop. They will have that there. I'm an industrial refrigeration tech and I use silver solder often. You can buy the rods that are already coated or you can buy the rods that are not coated and buy the powder flux seperate, which I prefer because the rods that have the flux on seem to loose the flux quiet easily when you store them and it's quite brittle. You can buy the brazing torch there aswell called a map gas.
You also need to heat up the thicker plate first then till cherry red then the thinner plate. You have to play with the heat till the 2 metals are the similar temperature then if you have a rod without flux, heat the rod and dip the rod into the flux powder. Heating the rod allows the flux to stick to the rod.
@@fuelban I'm in the process of building another fuel cell that separates the oxygen and hydrogen. Then I'm hoping that I'll be able to control or know exactly how much hydrogen I'm putting into the engine. I'll post that video hopefully soon.
