    I just started Uke in late December. I'm not a musician but I am really enjoying learning. I am in my late fifties and wish I started as a kid but music wasn't part of my family. I am happy I finally started. Never too late. Happy to have found your videos too.

    Ukulele is a great instrument. There is no question about that. What I strongly disagree with is the suggestion that Ukulele is simpler or that it’s better than a normal or any type of guitar; or that if someone is a beginner they should start with it. I think for each of these instruments the concepts needed to learn are the same regardless of how many strings or what size it is.

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With you 100%! This is why while I teach ukulele lessons, what I'm REALLY teaching is: How to play music. And deeper than that… How to play and practice in a way that is nourishing for our lives. Thank you for watching my channel 🎶😊

    i d like to know what PIMA is for ?, can you play it with any songs. could you make a tuto about not only technique but about how to use picking in songs. Do one need more knowledge about music, or solphege to understand ?

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      PIMA is a system/language for labeling the patterns used. You can apply them to any song in 4/4 time...in the future we'll be using a song to finger style pattern relationship for sure!

  • @johanstrobbe4377

    Hi Stu. First sorry for my poor English but I have a question.
    In the video from 6.08 to 6.32 you are showing how to play pattern 3.
    Then you start playing from 6.32 (with chords C/G/F/G/C) BUT when I play the pattern it sounds different...because....
    I have watched that part over and over again and have noticed you are (fast) playing not the pattern that you were showing slowly...
    So the pattern “pinch i m i a i m i” you are playing slow is not the same like the pattern you play fast. There you hit the first (A) string one more time in each pattern. Am I right?

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is what I showed....the first "pinch" canals be a three fingered pinch - I show that during that section of the video...thanks for watching & please subscribe to keep in the loop of more videos from my channel 🎶🤙😊

  • @sarajanemontgomery4130

    Can these patterns be used with low g?

    • @UkuleleZen
      @UkuleleZen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dod you mean high G? Yes indeed. All tunings good for these...just a different sound. (This is a Low G uke in tis video)

  • @josealvarezvega802
    @josealvarezvega802 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the first pattern sounds perfcet for imagine, just add the 0-1-2 on the A string every two bars for the verse and you got it
