_Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥 Another nice suggestion to enjoy a SuMetal solo, the deceiving slow ballad intro turns out it becomes a stripped unique live version with Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at at Legend 1997 in 2013, another highly recommended song. While SuMetal is performing this, the other girls are taking a break to come back after this song and perform their own songs under Black Babymetal subgroup. This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge this is. This song got a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must. In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a neverending love. Akatsuki it pronounce almost with the "u" silent so it goes like "Ah - kats- ki", it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why is a homage to "Kurenai" (crimson) by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to "X" live version. This is one out of four solo she has on the repertory, the other left are "No Rainbow No Rainbow", "Amore" and Rondo Of Nightmare (if you didn't), same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997. Like i said before you can find Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 which is a ballad version with only a piano playing behind, similar to the new Monochrome Piano Version. The Kami Band in this Black Night are the same at Rondo Of Nightmare clip: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Takayoshi is the one with the pink guitar (aka pink-chan) and was Mikio's pupil, he also got a golden guitar, everyone loves Taka. There's another special version live at Budokan 2021 with the grown up and more mature SuMetal vocals and some winks to another versions. Next suggestion: - Onedari Daisakusen live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react. Btw yesterday was MomoMetal birthday and they held two live shows last weekend celebrating this special b'day at Legend MM with MomoMetal singing an incredible Headbanger!! version and also Meta Taro. We're all proud of MomoMetal.🍑❤️ See you next time and don't forget to put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
Great reaction. Yes this is one of Su-metal's solo songs (Yui and Moa were backstage catching up on their homework). 'Akatsuki' in this instance translates as something like crimson moon ... no DragonForce involvement in this one, but it is power metal, so same base genre - the song is actually inspired by and pays homage to X Japan's classic 'Kurenai'. Yes this was at the Budokan, Black Night at the start of March 2014 ... Su was just a couple of months past her 16th birthday. The Kami Band that night - Leda Cygnus with the black flying V guitar, Takayoshi Ohmura with his signature 'Pink-chan' guitar, BOH with the 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama killing it on the drums. There is an 'unfinished' version of 'Akatsuki' ... just Su, piano and strings and so different in feel. She performed the unfinished version live just once at the Legend 1997 concert celebrating her 16th birthday - that would be worth another reaction. Su has another power metal solo, but with the addition of a short bass solo from BOH along with the guitar duet - 'Amore' was on the second album, live at Wembley is my own favourite performance of that (but they are all great).
They legit make me tear up sometimes, it's like everything I love about music all bundled into an inexplicably perfect show. Su is an absolute goddess on the mic, but as a drummer I have a panic attack imagining having to play some of these parts in front of an arena.
This is the reason the whole concept was built around. Su ❤ The scary thing is she is still 16 years old in this performance, and she only got better over time and is now 26 😃
Great reaction, thanks! "Akatsuki" is my all time favorite song. And this is my favorite live performance. Not bad for a 16 years old girl, uh? She was already amazing, hands down. I'm a sucker for power metal and guitar solos specially when they combine dueling and harmonizing solos like this. "Akatsuki" is not related to Dragonforce unlike "Road of Resistance".
