Hello.. I am a green card holder. Last year 2023 I applied for my wife and my two step kids on green card. But now I want to apply for citizenship because I’m over 5years now but the attorney who did the filing for my family is saying that i should not do my citizenship until my family come to the US. He further said if I do my citizenship right now that means I will have to re-file for my family. Which means I will be starting the process all over again. Can anybody in here better explain to me about this? Thanks!

Can you travel after naturalization and before oath ceremony?

Naturalization only occurs after the ceremony. I traveled after my interview. Oath was scheduled for when I was away. I had to mail in a letter along with my interview notice explaining I would be gone and stated when I would be back. It was rescheduled for 3 weeks later (5 days after my return).
