  • Falcon, Peyton and Black Forest are bedroom communities found Northeast of Colorado Springs. Beginning as train stations in the late 1800's, they grew by exporting lumber and potatoes. Barely surviving the Dust Bowl, they have managed to witness modern urbanization, with all of them growing significantly in population, price and exclusivity thanks to their commuting distance from Colorado Springs and Denver.
Ski Lodge was created to publicly document our travels around Colorado. Started to simply get everyone out of the house, it has turned into a vast collection of history, photography and general information.
Falcon is part of the COLORADO SPRINGS METRO AREA

Thank you for your Exploring Colorado #33/100, for your realistic approach during your visit to Falcon, and also for the very objetive evaluation you make. Once again we send greetings from Guaymas, Sonora, México.

You tell it the way it is. We have lived in Peyton for a year. So pretty, and yes, quiet. For recreation we do wildfire mitigation.
Do you know a his source to tell about the geology of Palmer Divide? Wondering if it had glaciation.

I try to stay down to earth doing these reviews - with so many places not everywhere can be at the top. Unfortunately, I don't know or have sources about the area's geology, but I wouldn't doubt if it had glaciation at some point.
