- Rocky Ford grew around a railroad station, becoming the hub of the western Ark Valley by the 1880's. Completion of the Colorado Canal fueled sugar beet production, and in no time Rocky Ford become the largest producer of sugar in the entire country. Success lasted through WW2 when the region was unexpectedly forced into decline. Yet to fully recover, Rocky Ford remains famous for its sweet melons and relevant for the services it contains.
Ski Lodge was created to publicly document our travels around Colorado. Started to simply get everyone out of the house, it has turned into a vast collection of history, photography and general information.

I am from Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.Your job is great again. One day I will want to visit Colorado and some of the places you described so complete with your excellent scheme: the history, the geography, the trip and conclusion. Thank you again.
Colorado has massive variety, definitely keeps it interesting. Come check it out!

Loved listening to this as I am from Rocky Ford and while there is barely anything to do it’s still my hometown that I grew up in so glad to see someone make videos on its history and current day status and I hope to see rocky ford expand soon! Also the Fair makes the place much more alive but also a lot more loud and crowded as many people around the state tend to visit since I’ve been going there for as long as I can remember so it doesn’t hurt to try and visit rocky again when that rolls around as well glad you made this!
You're not the only one to bring up the Fair. We'll definitely have to go
Rocky Ford will never expand. It's been on the decline since businesses started closing in the early 80s
I'm from Colorado and I appreciate your videos! You give some really good insight and history to some of the less known towns in CO. Request, can you do San Luis some of the little towns in the San Luis Valley? Manassa, Antonito or Monte Vista.
Thanks for that, I love doing the small towns most since their history is a bit more obscure. We will be visiting Alamosa and Monte Vista next year 2025 then Del Norte in '26. The Alamosa video is planned to have the most information about the smaller towns and SLV in general. Someday I'll do a SLV standalone.
Your video content is amazing. but How I will contact with you?
