Just finished fitting the Nest 3rd generation to my Worcester 38cdi. I used 4 core flex but didn't connect the earth. Receiver is blue to N, brown to L and black to 3. Dont forget a link wire between L and 2. In the boiler remove the Pre wired link between LR & LS. then its blue to NS brown to LS and black to LR (Just like the video) I had to remove the DT10RF thermostat from the boiler and do a reset for the NEST to start controlling the boiler. Thank you for your help.
At 22 second you mention the system boiler and diverter kit. Are you saying it must have the diverter kit installed or mustn’t have the kit installed. Not sure if you say “without diverter kit” or “with our diverter kit”. I’m looking at installing a nest on my greenstar 18i that has the diverter kit installed. Will this work?
Hi there 0:35 it's mentioned I'd find a link for the boiler that's relevant to me and a link to a wiring guide. Can you please confirm where I can find a wiring guide to connect Bosh Easy Control CT200 to a Worcester Greenstar 8000? I can't find that on the literature provided / available for both them. Thanks
I've just finished installing the tado wireless receiver to a greenstar 30si with the DT10RF programmer module (circa 2008-ish). The circuit resembles the first section of this video, where it says to remove the bridge. I've done this, everything lights up correctly on the Tado receiver, but the boiler is still being triggered by the old wireless thermostat and ignoring the Tado. Do I need to directly disconnect the DT10RF panel for it to work, as wouldn't I lose hot water functionality doing this?
@@colinlees3266 Yes, just unplug the old front panel receiver from the boiler control board and replace with a blanking plate. I didn’t use the water timer functionality, and it now just heats water on demand.
I have a Salus control link built into the boiler, the wiring is identical to 2:54 in the video. Can I just install a Nest link as show in the video without Salus interfering with anything? Obviously I would disconnect the Salus thermostat which is connected remotely to the link.
This might be a little late but yes you can. You will need to wire it slightly different from the video. Message me if its not too late and you need to know how.
Also it might be worth noting that Worcester have there own equivalent too the hive and it's called the Worcester wave hope that helps. It's a very clever bit of kit and easier too install than the hive
So looking at the docs it just slots in and small connector plugs in to the boiler Is that it, what about the old on wall rotary timer and the thermostat this is greenstar Jr 28 with normal wall thermostat and rotary peg timer that came with it The new part would be greenstar time thermostat Does it over ride them can they be left in place
I'm using a heatmiser system that has opentherm . I bought a convertor that supposedly outputs EMS but I cannot get the boiler to fire ! I run two zones and I'm seriously considering a new boiler as I cannot run opentherm with two zones with my existing Worcester combi . Not happy .
@@rajeeb3500 hi, i was wondering if you could guide me, i have a Worcester 8000 system boiler being installed with a megaflo eco plus cylinder. The system will be 2 radiator zones, 1 underfloor heating and 1 hot water. From the little info available online it seems worcester easy control can only work on one zone and only one easycontrol can be fitted on one boiler. This is the only thermostat control that is EMS. I am concerned that any third party thermostat won't be able to modulate the boiler. Did you manage to control the boiler with your opentherm thermostat? Thanks
@@arslaanasif9893 hi, unfortunately I had to give up on trying to get an EMS signal to work. I figured I'd have to settle for a well set up zoned system to create as much efficiency as possible , with the compromise of a traditional on/off call for heat. Hope that helps
Is it possible to control the hot water "Eco" mode on a Greenstar 28i Junior Boiler? I'd like to be able to use my Nest to turn the eco mode on when we're not in the house. Thanks for any help :)
Hi, i have a 28i boiler, with Honeywell Y6630D , Y6630D1007 - was going to integrate a Salus RT310i internet thermostat, but im pretty sure the honewell stuff switches mains voltage to call for heat, and my Salus setup switches 0v - am i right please, am i stuck ? :-)
Who is this video for? Qualified gas and electrical engineers? Why do I have a Bosch boiler with a wireless thermostat but NO RECEIVER!? So now I have to pay someone to fit the Nest which will cost more than the Nest cost.
Good morning, The video was designed to highlight how external hard-wired controls are to be fitted to our boilers. The advice here is designed to reinforce to customers how we have designed the boilers to function with third-party controls, as well as providing guidance to installers on how to make these connections correctly. All Worcester-made wireless controls will come with a receiver. The only exception to this is the Bosch CT200 EasyControl which is capable of being made wireless with our new 8000 and 2000 boiler ranges using the RF key kit. This is an optional extra and the EasyControl is not wireless out of the box. As this is the case I would recommend you contact your installers if you do not have a receiver. Any questions you can contact our tech team on 0330 123 3366 😊 - Aiden
I have a green star boiler with a MT10RF receiver that’s integrated into the boiler. How do I access this and wire in the heat link? I really don’t want to have to pay £70+ to get someone round to do it
Probably the most difficult boiler to wire up for a combi with 3rd party controls. Also doesn’t appeal to you to use the plug in timer either as it’s a load of **** Ideal logic and vogue with HALO is all you need
How does using a thermostat work with regard to the on/off/timed selector switch on the front of the boiler? i would have expected this switch to have a fourth position which would leave the boiler under thermostat control
Thank you for your comment. Can you please contact our Technical Support team directly by phoning them on 0330 123 3366 or by emailing them at technical-advice@uk.bosch.com one of our advisers will be able to help you further. Thanks, AW
Andrew James Did you get anywhere with this? I am wondering the same. Currently looking at getting a Hive to fit to my boiler that doesn't have an existing thermostat. Thanks.
Decent of Bosch to put this info out, no interest in nest or hive twaddle just fitting a simple 3 wire rf controller. For power tools, HVAC and domestic appliances Bosch my favourite brand.
I have been having difficulty getting any gas engineers to connect my Worcester Bosch Easycontroller, via the Easycontroller adapter recommended by Worcester Bosch technical support. Three engineers all have never done this before and have all failed. Nobody has mentioned the Greenstar wiring centre. Is this what is missing from our problem?
If you have an rf thermostat you need to take that of for the Nest or Hive to work.

Did you ever get an answer to this? Thinking of doing the same I have the diverter valve fitted

OK, but how do you connect the 30/35/40 HE boilers replacing the TR2 thermostat with a conventional 2 wire on/off thermostat?

Yeah the hive should work with any modern boiler. All you need too do is find a qualified electrician who knows how too install the hive
