This is magnificent. Early, Ronnie's face as he says, "Once they cross that doorway...I'll 'ave 'em." His compassion when he puts the feather duster into Granville's yawning mouth. Or "I dddon't know how that poor woman manages......She can't afford half the ssstuff I sell her.' The byplay and banter between the pair. They occupy their roles beautifully and the writing is great. The glee Arkwright gets out of conceiving his skinflint moneymaking schemes is priceless, GGGGenuine JJJJJamaican GGGingercake.
@3:37 😍 I’d very much love to paint that frame! WAIT!! 🧐 Are you sure we’re watching Arkwright kitchen?? I didn’t think he’d had this much generosity to place a 200 grams butter on the kitchen table!!! 😅 Is there such a thing as a shop figure with Arkwright and Granville? Shame if there weren’t! They would’ve looked cute and nostalgic!
One has to feel moderately sorry for Granville every time he talks to the milk woman - she's the only female he has any sort of relationship with, and it isn't even a proper one.
She knows that she is the only one he gets to meet and talk to.. that is why she is not too keen to click it with him. She’s got the right to be liked for the right reasons. Still, she did give him a chance telling him “Call me!”.
They didn't really have the technology to easily blur things in 1976; and product placement wasn't so wide-spread that the BBC needed to have rules against it then either. They're just older style labels; in fact, I think when this was filmed they were old even then.
This is very cool, unique, innocent, clever, I've never seen this but I love the banter back and forth. Thank you.
Good old comedy classics I still watch today. Better than whats tv now. I couldn't get tired of all these classics, Ronnie Barker sadly missed
One of the best shows ever🇦🇺🦘🐨❤️
