I love the intro where Granville is washing the window, then Albert comes out and looks over, then suddenly Granville is in the middle of painting a message on the window.
Whilst this programme was on I had a stammer. I used to stammer when I was child up to my 20's, and I didn't find Arkwright's stammer offensive. Arkwright's stammer was written with good heart, there was no malice intended, and I used to easily copy Arkwright's stammer, and my mates laughed along with me.
Funny how everyone comments on here and no one has noticed they use the same opening film on every episode of that series - check it out oh observant ones.

wouldn't it be great if David Jason reopened the shop and made a new show or maybe a Christmas special episode...
.......and so it was 👍
He did lol😊
I love that Ronnie Barker always wore his wedding ring. He was a devoted husband.

@MrSteeleye well he was born in 1940 so he would have been in his 30's
Nurse Gladys Emmanuel, an unsung siren of the small screen.
I wonder how old David Jason was when these series were made? So different to the white haired "Frost"

@goronek David Jason was actually 41 years old when this episode Open All Hours was shown in 1981.
Yet the gleam in his eyes and baby face tell you he’s probably faking his age! 😄 He looks nothing near 20 even!!
All those locks and it is a glass door!!
