love the taiwan videos, looking forward to visiting for the first time to do some bikepacking next year. appreciate you sharing your experience and information!
This is totally my goal to do these kind of adventures out in Taiwan. Until then please please keep making these kind of videos so I can vicariously live through your content :P
So cool. I remember your Doi Suthep clime. It also was fascinating but looks like you enjoyed Taiwan more for the lifestyle. It’s probably more expensive and less street food than in Thailand but looks like easier traffic and better quality pavement. Could you compare the two?
Loved this video bro, I need to get overseas and ride! Audio sounds great too, do you adjust wind noise or just use the dji external mic and it doesnt pickup much wind? Struggling with my camera picking up heaps of wind noise.
I use a dji mic 2 with my Action 4. It connects wirelessly. There are limitations to this setup but for the most part works pretty well. Getting good audio is definitely a challenge for creating cycling content
Your video reminds me of how in September 2013 I rode for 4 days in southeast Taiwan. It was heaven. At that time (not sure if this is still true) Giant stores were so numerous that you could rent a bike in one city and return it in another. So I rented a bike in Hualian, rode up to Taroko one day, then headed south, to Ruisui, Yuli, and finally Taidong. People are so friendly and the landscape is gorgeous.
Sounds amazing. I wish I could go to Taroko, but it seems like that road will be closed for the next few years. I didn’t know you could rent bikes at one location and return in another. That’s cool
Many thanks for your efforts! Yup, Hammerhead elevation is not to be trusted. But, I got one 3 years ago to replace an earlier Garmin 1000 series that would frequently crash whenever it attempted to reroute. In that regard, Hammerhead is uber stable. At least the competition has forced Garmin to make improvements.
Ohhhh yes Garmin is far from perfect too 😅. I’m going to have the opportunity to speak with representatives from SRAM regarding the Karoo 3. Should be interesting
Another amazing vid! After completed round island last month, i must say, my fav city is Chiayi follow by Hualien and Yilan. The same 711 that i hangout while waiting to check in to my hotel in Chiayi. 😂. Love the turkey rice and fish soup too.
Some of it is actually quite high quality, but yeah generally not how Westerners like coffee. It’s more suitable for the Japanese style (makes sense considering the industry was established by the Japanese in the first place), very dark and bitter. I sometimes make joke of it like some beans have a floral or nutty scent, Taiwanese coffee beans are coffee-flavoured coffee.
I jealous you can confidently pass the small villages without being afraid of dogs. I may climb the Ali mountain in 3-4 months. I am already worried about it. My heart starts beating already.
I don't think they grow a ton of coffee in Taiwan. At 8% (cafe in 中山區)Taiwanese coffee is part of the "single origin" coffees you can try & buy. Hit me up if you go, I also haven't tried it, just seen it there. :)
nice filming, thanks for taking lots of time and effort to make this tour and film~
Amazing video as always! (Lovin' the D&B drop toward the end of the video!! 💪)

thanks for sharing. The next time I visit my relatives in Taiwan, definitely want to do some riding
Hey man! Awesome video! Which model do you use for your pannier setup?
This is a Tailfin system. I highly recommend.

@@JohnnyZeeLee sounds great mate, I just bought the osmo action 5 and it’s quite the upgrade from action 2. Hope the audio is better!
I rode from Puli to Chiayi on my Huandao last year. Wa some of the best decending I've done in a long time. great ride.
TY for sharing your expetience. I might have to take my bike and do the same route 🚴

Turkey rice is good. I dunno about the fish. I saw it but didn’t look appetizing to me 😂
What action camera do you used?
Dji Action 4
是不喜歡吃海苔嗎? 超商飯糰包裝是不是開錯
They have Taiwan Coffee, but it's a little more bitter, still, it's kinda like... just tasting the local flavor
I actually managed to try some the next day. I like it!

@ haha yes I agree. It was coffee flavoured coffee
Go to police station in Taiwan to fill water instead of convenience store, reduce PET bottle waste and save some money.
This is a good tip
Or one of the temples, they are usually more than happy to let you fill from their water server.

I would be afraid if the dogs were aggressive but they are normally friendly
wow
beautiful
Magene 606 .. hao peng you

Welp I now finished the video and see you learned more about coffee here 😆
Good to know about 8%. I’ve never seen this cafe before
