@@koffiezet I wondered if that was the adjustment you were talking about. I have seen a few posts where people have tried this and had to replace the shock or return it to Honda 😳 It would be a nice feature for Honda to include but I guess it closes the gap between the Transalp the Africa 🤔
a hidden feature i found is in the toolkit under the seat. you get a metal wire strap that you put through the d-rings on your helmet. it attaches onto a hook where the seat locates. you put the seat on with this set up and it lets you lock your helmet onto the side of the bike when you go into a shop or something
I have a Transalp just like yours. Thanks for your interesting reviews and compliments for your perfect English: I am Italian and it is a pleasure to listen to you… better than an English lesson, and by the way on very interesting topics 🙂
Hello 👋 thank you very much for your comment and feedback 😊 I really appreciate it. I am glad you are enjoying my videos! How long have you had your Transalp? Do you have any optional extras?
@@TyresNTorque My Transalp is 1 year and 2 months old. I have the Rally pack and the 12V socket where I connect an adapter that measures the outside temperature (unfortunately is not a standard package) and gives me a USB port to charge my phone. Then I put the wind deflectors, but only on the windshield. I really enjoy the bike on the roads of the hills and mountains of Northern Italy, between curves and hairpin bends, especially on asphalt but also off-road 🙂
That sounds great! It’s a really nice bike, I haven’t found a bike yet that I prefer over the Transalp. It does everything I want it to and more 😊 Have you considered the lower wind deflectors? 😊
I DON’T like that the turn indicator shuts off after 10 flashes, or 8 seconds, if you have not yet turned (regardless of the amount of slowing, breaking, and down shifting). That is generally not long enough for me. I like to give the speed demon behind me lots of notice. I find that I have to wait until quite close to the corner to turn on the signal, for them to cancel effectively. This happens most often during turns from highway speeds, around town is better.
Hi Pater, thank you for this 😊 I wonder if this can be changed in the settings somewhere, so it stays on for longer 🤔 I might have a look into this… Are you from the US? Please subscribe 😊 It’s a huge help in growing my channel.
I’m pretty sure it runs off the speed sensor on the front wheel cuz when I bought mine they weren’t working and had a check engine light on and it turned out they had the front wheel on backwards so the ring for the abs and speed sensor was on the wrong side 😂
Be careful also of the self cancelling indicators , I regularly transverse a large roundabout , it’s so big that there are straights on the er roundabout …after first buying bike I had the indicators cancel before I had even leaned the bike into the turn of the er roundabout . Always compulsively check them like I do on the other super bike my Versys 650😮😊
@@SomewhereInside Great point, thank you! I don’t really ride around many larger roundabouts but this is good to remember. I have been a little surprised at how many people don’t like the self cancelling indicator function. For me though I think they are a great feature. Each to their own I guess 😊
@SeeJamesPaint Great 😊 Which do you prefer? I’m trying to get my wife to do her test and she loves the look of the Rebel. She is quite short so I think it would be good. How do you find it?
@@TyresNTorque the Rebel is lighweight and maneuvers quickly. It's great for taking the test. She may want to consider getting the 450cc instead of the 250cc. I've really enjoyed riding the Rebel but it is a little small for me and a bit under powered but I've got the 250cc.
That’s great! Good to know it’s light and easy to manoeuvre. She is 5’1 and it will be her first bike so maybe the 250 will be enough? Or do you still think the bigger engine is the one to go for?
Just bought a Transalp. While I like the self cancelling indicators I find they often stay on too long or even don't cancel. Be interested if you find this. My major gripe though is riding between 20 and 30 mph. I can't get a gear that suits these speeds and just feels jerky. I had a cb500x and that was perfect at town riding. Not had my 600 mile service yet so who knows after that. I have messed about with modes and find rain better. Thinking of combination of reduced power and reduced engine breaking may help. But not good so far.
@@adrianhollington6331 ohh no, sorry to hear you are not liking things so far 😞 Hopefully this will change as time goes by. Firstly the indicators - I find the self cancelling function works very well but it isn’t perfect. However I don’t rely on it, I still manually turn them off out of habit. But it is nice to know they will turn themselves off if I forget (which I usually do) The jerky throttle at slow speeds is a common gripe about the Transalp. However for me I either don’t suffer from it, or I don’t notice it. So I can’t really comment on that unfortunately. I do like rain mode and I switch between standard and rain a lot. I also have the “User” mode set up as a step between the 2 which I really like 😊 The bike for me did seem to become a little more smooth after the first service but not by much. Maybe I have just got used to it over the last 7000 miles or maybe I just haven’t noticed it. Either way I hope things improve for you! 🙏 Have you spoken to your dealer about these issues? Please subscribe if you haven’t already 😊
Used clutch today a touch and smoothed things more , but can't use that all the time. 600 mile service tomorrow and going to grill the mechanic! I even tried better fuel today but no change.
I think that the self canceling indicators don´t work really good. It feels like speed is the indicator for canceling command. So sometimes it happens that I turn and drive slowly after. In that case I always need to cancel myself.
There may be a factor of speed in how they work but I’m not too sure 🤔 For me they work great but there does seem to be a bit of a divide in what people think of them. I am going to have a deeper look into the settings and see if there are any other factors that can be changed in relation to the indicators. But I think there is just the option of on or off.
I think the white is the best colour but I do like them all. I don’t know why you only have the black in the US? 🤔 If I’m being completely honest I probably wouldn’t notice the different in the power. I don’t ride aggressively or fast so the extra power is probably wasted on me 😂 But it is nice to have it there just in case 😊

You can not only change the preload, but also the "speed" of the rear shock with a well-hidden and very tricky to reach dial
I have never heard this before 🤔 What does the dial look like please?
