I had a 2016 Africa Twin and I really noticed the extra weight when I was moving the bike around the garage. Driving at highway speeds the weight isn't an issue. The TransAlp feels so much better just moving it around. Just waiting on Honda to offer it in the U.S. in this color instead of the matte black.
But it doesn't sound better than the AT?! I can't believe that. A mate of mine has just done a test ride on both, the AT and the TA. He told me the AT has a lot more power at lower revs. The TA has to be revved very high to get it going. He liked the AT a lot more.
Depends what sort of riding you do. I rode the AT today and I own a Transalp. I was really expecting the AT to be so much more responsive from low speeds...it is not. For speedy quick response in the city or twisties the lighter Transalp is so much more exciting...the AT feels like a chugger by comparison. Yes you rev it, so what, that is the fun of it. Maybe if you want to do steady fast road riding the AT is better...more weight more stable. I love the 2024 white AT looks but so disappointed by the engine. I rode the Tiger 90p Rally Pro straight after and that was so much more lively that it reminded me of the Transalp.
I bought a Transalp after passing my test this summer and I love it, after seeing you change your exhaust on your Africa twin I have been looking at aftermarket exhausts for the Transalp
Thanks for doing this review. I thought you would be surprised by the transalp. I love mine . I done a 3 hour ride last week and I didn’t want to go home . When I got home I felt fresh as a daisy . I have put a black widow end can on and it’s sounds much better than standard . I haven’t ridden the 1100 Africa twin I did own the 1000 and much prefer the transalp .
I was planning the review video and thought it would be a bit boring but wow, was I wrong! What a bike, I was even looking at the matte black one last night and considering trading my AT 🫣
I’ve got the Matt black . I wanted the white but as I bought private I just took the one that was the best spec and value for money that I could find . Now I’ve got a black one it’s grown on me and actually prefer it .They are selling them off cheaper at the moment which leads me to believe that there will be an upgrade version being launched for spring 2025.
Thanks for the comparison video. If Emma hasn’t got a quick shifter on the Transalp I recommend she does. I love the look of your AT, especially the front and graphics, but you have made me feel content with having a Transalp listening to your delight in how it rides. It sounds like the weight difference is very noticeable. Did you not miss the torque of the AT? Hope the Transalp gets tubeless wheels in the future.
I honestly think I would have bought one if I’d tested but as I had 2 Africa Twins previous I went with the same. The Transalp is an amazing bike! I still love my Twin but now love the Transalp!
I was interested in your comment on the low speed handling of the AT, I have a CB500X and a CRF1000 and my slow speed riding is more precise on the AT, it is fantastically well balanced with a a very linear clutch action and a torquey engine that is difficult to stall. That could be because mine has throttle cables instead of the fly by wire of the later bikes which makes the engine response a little more direct. I tested a Transalp and while I quite liked it, I've found I'm too addicted to the rorty long legged torque of the big twin to get rid of it just yet.
I had an early CRF1000 AT and test rode a Transalp down my favourite local twisty roads plus a mild greenlane. The TA has a surprising turn of speed, the engine spins up quickly over 4000rpm which makes it exciting to ride and coupled with excellent agility, I prefer its sporty handling. The weight is noticably lighter than the AT, it just feels right where the AT is an overweight liability trying to back it into my shed. What the TA doesn't have is the lovely bottom end torque that the AT has, it was verging on being gutless below 4000rpm. So for now the AT has been replaced by a KTM 1090 Adventure. 30 bhp that the AT was badly missing and a little lighter to handle on the ground. Its still heavier than I would like, but does have tubeless wheels which neither Honda has. Perhaps I should have considered a Husqvana Norden, well maybe in a couple of years when the camshaft issues are fully resolved. From my own research, the KTM 1190 and 1090 engines are the most reliable engines KTM made to date with non of the electrical gremlins that also seem too common on the newer models. In many ways the KTM 1090 is an AT, just slightly better in every way.
Yes, an actual case where 'less is more'. Well, in many respects, if not all. Now at 20,200 kms on my (also white) Transalp here in rural South Australia, and really enjoying it. The lightness, the handling, the economy, and the smoothness, really add up to a bike which I am enjoying more than I expected to. You (and Emma) will find it becomes smoother, with less vibrations, and sounds sweeter, at around 5,000 kms. Just a couple of points re your video: where you put up the 0 - 60 times, you have written MPG rather than MPH. Secondly, the absence of the twice-offered Fireblade pics, which I see you realised later. Thirdly, I have to say Emma's Transalp would have benefited from a few less revs with 20 miles on the clock! For long mileage some more thoughtful running-in probably advisable, although I understand you were doing a 'test'. But glad you enjoyed it. They are a lot of bike for the money, and will do 400 kms (about 250 miles) on a tank if filled right to the top. Handy out here with no fuel for miles, and in a country where towns can be far apart. Important for Emma to know that when the last fuel bar starts flashing, it still has 3.7L left - enough for about 50 miles or 80 kms. I have never run out on mine, and have never stalled it either, with that rather nice clutch take-up.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed. If you have back issues then I’d recommend the Transalp as it’s so much lighter and easier to move about vs the Twin. Please subscribe to get first views on my new videos 😎 th-cam.com/video/9jqzf8_E6ls/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9Zmxc5M3oRgG1dnI
The TA looks so much fun to ride with that high revving engine and commanding riding position. Like the CB750 Hornet , I’m not keen on the styling from Honda’s Italian design studio. The Africa Twin and CB650R are better styled bikes but it’s the 750s I’d like to ride.
for me the AT just looks so much better... bought the TA anyway. Wanted something lighter in the end. Upgraded the suspension though (Wilbers 641 competition plus fork upgrade)
@@mid.bike.crisis I think the CB 650 R is also not a lightweight bike, did my license on that bike a few years ago. Different type of beast with that 4 cylinder
I am selling my Africa twin 2016la to buy transalp. I absolutely loved my test ride. Great review owning a old 82 mdl xl500r it's be old and new.lol great review thank you.jamie from Australia.
I owned a 2024 Transalp for eight months, and traded it in for a 2024 Africa Twin DCT five months ago. TA is light and nimble, is nearly as fast as the AT, a really fun bike. The AT is definitely heavier, better looking, adjustable suspension, DCT is seriously awesome, as is Apple CarPlay. The AT comes with tubeless tires and cruise control. I got a rear flat on the TA and it was a major PIA to change versus tubeless. My biggest negatives about the AT is it puts off a ton of heat right on my knees. I’m 6’2” and live in Central Florida. I really really miss how comfortable and cool the TA was. If I did it over again I’d buy the TA, swap for tubeless rims, and cruise control and enjoy life.
Personally I prefer my AT, I really enjoy the review of my wife’s TA but as you say, the Twin looks better and has better features. I’m UK living and wouldn’t complain about the weather, the heat you talk about has never been noticed on my AT as it’s always cold here 😆
@@mid.bike.crisis, Adventure Undone lives pretty close to where I do and at the 15 minute mark of one of his Africa Twin reviews he shows exactly where the 2024 AT throws off the heat. It’s not that it’s just hot, it feels more like heat is blowing like a hair dryer on my knees. I’m taller than he is and live a little further South is I imagine it’s worse for me. I definitely understand not experiencing it in a cooler climate, but I did want to point it out for your warmer climate viewers considering the two. I agree with you that without the heat I prefer the AT. If it weren’t for that the only reason I’d opt for the TA is if you prefer a more light and nimble bike. The weight difference is noticeable. As mentioned I owned and have thousands of miles on both bikes.
The heat you feel on your knees like a hairdryer will be from the radiator fans, one either side of the radiator. I bet if you lived in the UK you wouldn’t notice that at all as I’ve had 3 AT and that’s never been felt.
Looking at this same swap myself, after investing quite a bit into the TA but getting a rear flat I could not fix myself among some other complaints (suspension). This summer I will be doing a 4000km road trip to find out how much I truly want to ride gravel and off road and how good a long-haul bike the TA is. Most of my rides will be like this, long days in the saddle and long distance to get to some mountainous or dirt road area where I will then do all the twisties and gravel, or both. For this use, what bike would you recommend? TA 2024, AT-B or AT-AS (both 2025)?
@@KoenPrins The AT is hands down the better tourer, especially with DCT. It’s an amazing bike. Most would say go for the 19” ATAS for that much road use. At my height I just appreciate the taller bike and don’t need the extra fuel range. The only advantages I see with the Transalp are: lower weight, fun nimble flickability, significantly less up front expense, and it puts off no heat on the legs. I understand the suspension concerns but I did think the TA was pretty easy to handle off-road…so long as you aren’t bottoming out often.
What a beautiful bike mate wow I'd love to be able to afford one of them, not even in my wildest dreams will that ever happen so I'll have to make do with my 21 year old ZX6R 636 👍
I think your AT with the Termi pipe is the better looking bike. Shame they didn’t keep the styling of the AT across the two as I really like the graphics, the stance and the front headlight, but the Transalp seems to make more sense overall, maybe not as good off road, but it’s a fair bit heavier. I’ve got a 400X scrambler and have thought about these two so it’s definitely Something worth looking in to… or upgrade the suspension on what I have.. different genre of bike of course but yet, can still do the same stuff within reason. Bloomin bikes! Why are we always looking and tempted by something else when what we have is perfectly good! 😂😂
The Scrambler is a mega bike mate! I had a Ducati Desert Sled and regret selling it. We keep looking because we have addiction lol Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe to ensure you get notified on my future videos 🙏 youtube.com/@mid.bike.crisis
I had a transalp earlier this year and bought an AT base this year. I could see why someone would like the TA over the AT, but i personally like the AT better.
I have a transalp 750 but the AT looks the business. However, its too much of one thing. My Transalp is used for everything and shines in that versatility category like no other. It is quick enough but commutes well too. It is a happy kind of bike and im slowly getting it just right. The AT is possibly too much bike.
I’m on my third AT mate, I love them especially the road presence. Feel super safe on the Twin but bro, the Transalp is a lovely bike! Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe to my channel to ensure you watch future videos 🙏
I mean too much in 2 ways: firstly, it's too much of one category. eg my Vespa 300GTS is so good around town but pretty much hopeless at everything else. Secondly, bikes have become too much nowadays. Eg I am a BMW guy but the new ones are too much for me. It's only a bike after all. As an integrated and harmonious proposition, the Transalp takes some beating. Thanks for allowing me to develop my thoughts.
I agree with your comments, I often think the same about too much capability especially for my requirements. I owned a GS for a while, loved it but it was too good for my needs. If I was retired then I’d be all over a GSA but for blasts to the coast and biker cafes, it was too much. Have a look mate th-cam.com/video/9jqzf8_E6ls/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9Zmxc5M3oRgG1dnI
Have to disagree with you on something here. I’m 41 and passed my test in aug this year, I have an Africa twin as my first bike and I absolutely love it. Highly recommend as a first bike 🔥
You must be an anomaly as it’s a big bike for your first bike with inexperience. Maybe you have previous riding experience? I would strongly suggest the Twin is not for a first time rider just passed their test.
I agree with others,In my opinion a new biker should find their feet on the roads first on something a bit easier to manouver. I bought a 500 adventure bike when I first passed it was too big and too heavy as I was still getting used to that independent riding and manoeuvring. As a registered health professional I’ve unfortunately seen the outcomes of a person who goes all in as an inexperienced rider on a bike they can’t handle, not good. I suppose it could be subjective, I’m 5’5” the Transalp in this vid is mine, been riding 3 years now, and I’ve been through a few bikes CB650R ( great first bike) kept it just short of 3 years, Now on to a CBR650R and the transalp. I’ve had the transalp lowered as you can see, and feel confident enough for it now. I think a persons height may be a factor, love the look of the AT but no way could I manage its height or weight, particularly on those slow manoeuvre’s. The transalp is a dream 😊 I think bikes should be a progressional thing to work your way up to, Hoping one day I might b brave enough to get on Mid bikes fire blade 😬
Passed my test in July this year. Being 35 years old, having a family really changed your perspective of how to be more careful and make it home safe. Bought Benelli 702x, which on the paper is heavier then AT and also very top heavy. Was looking at AT and Transalp as well but my finances stretched as much as possible, so I ended up with Benelli. Hopefully, I will get there one day and purchase one of these :)
I bought my TA in August, same as your missus. Been riding a very long time, it’s an excellent bike, so easy to ride and everything just ‘works’, it’s typical Honda.
Is there any chance of a review comparison between the Transalp and the Cbr650r. I realise your wife owns both and has chosen to ride the Cbr in summer…is that because it is more fun? How does the suspension compare? Having returned to riding I have worked out I just like short fun rides so realise I could go for less comfortable bikes. But Transalp engine is fun so be interesting to hear how it compares?
Hi Adrian, mid bikes wife Emma here. I’ve not had a lot of riding out of the Transalp, but personally without a doubt the CBR 650R is more fun. I’m a sports bike fan and the two bikes are of course very different. The Transalp has more torque and is definitely not a slow ride just different, I love the position with wind shield and the hearted grips are a fantastic addition. I love both bikes for different reasons. Depends how you’re feeling on the day I guess and what style of bike speaks to your heart. I feel very lucky to have a choice ☺️
Both of them are a bit on the heavy side. I've ridden motorcycles since 1973. I have camped in Mainland Europe frequently since 1979 with and without pillion. This summer only two weeks to Harz. Motorcycles below 200 kg wet are much more agile. Too me a light motorcycle is more important than power. 47 HP is adequate for a pillion and full camping equipment on a light motorcycle. The NX500 is much more interesting than the heavy Transalps and Africa Twins.
The Transalp is 203kg wet so near enough your requirements. Give it a go, I really think you would like it. Please subscribe to my channel to ensure that you get first views on my next video youtube.com/@mid.bike.crisis
Depends what you want it for, for what you spend modifying the TA you could get the AT. I’d strongly recommend you test ride both. Let me know your thoughts.
@mid.bike.crisis i love this bike.but its a too ecpensive.plus i wont do long journeys, plus it too beefy.i ll go for the transalp,or i ll see tommorow afternoon the new tenere and i ll decide
This is a nice bike admittedly......but we ruled it out due to lack of spec. We do a bit of touring and cruise control for that is a must...it also has no adaptive suspension as an option, this another useful extra when you can change from one up to full touring mode at the touch of a button. The Africa Twin cannot be compared to this bike as price wise your looking at large price difference.
Agreed it’s a little under specked compared to other bikes. Of course you can compare the two as those are the only two Honda adventure bikes that are similar. I look at the Transalp as the baby Africa Twin. What bike did you go for ?
The transalp is a much more balanced bike than the Africa Twin. Pity Honda did not lauch the Transalp seriously. By this I mean, giving it cruise control, tubeless tires, a proper front end, and not one taken from the cb500x. Also, tge airbox should be readily accessble, as opposed to dismatling half the bike to get to it.
@jfro5867 The Africa Twin is not a basic bike, and is more heavy, and top heavy than a Transalp, even more so than a T7. I would go Transalp for best between them, but it needs a second iteration because of the limitations out on the first iteration.
I owned '22 crf1100 dct and I sold it after just 14000 km because the DCT was driving me crazy. Now I am more than a year without a bike, I went to the honda dealer and, surprisingly, I find transalp more comfortable than africa... it's also cheaper, and lighter. When I owned africa, I was too scared of it in offroad, because it was just too heavy! The 2025 transalp is smiling to me, I will test it surely, maybe it's gonna be my next bike. One thing I am sure about, I won't buy automatic transmission bike again. Only manual + quickshifter. Honda always says "we improved our DCT" blah blab blah. My DCT was jerky... also, I don't need this laggy android auto on the bike, I used to ride only with my intercom connected, and every ride I had troubles to connect to this nightmare. The older I get, the less complicated bikes I find attractive.
I owned a DCT AT back in 2020, it lasted 4 months and traded it for a manual. I love both bikes and I’m lucky I can ride the Wife’s TA if she lets me 😂
I was going to get a Transalp 750 but I just think it's a fairly enourmous downgrade! I would not trade my manual ES 2022 Adventure Sports for anything else now - Tubeless tyres, cruise control, much better seat, much better wind protection, Electronic suspension, Looks better, better colours etc etc etc..
I'm glad to hear that the UK is doing so well after Brexit. Buying new bikes for sommer and replacing them for winter. What will it be next summer? I see a pattern: 650, 750, 850, 950, 1050, 1150, 1250, 1350. Please be careful. The famous UK bike dead spiral is not a joke. In the UK 26 bikers are killed every year per 100,000 motorcycles. More than double the rate in the EU.
I’ve been in business for 22 years, Brexit wasn’t great initially for me but we push on even harder. I’ve been riding bikes since 1986, I’m careful. I traded the Harley for the Twin as the Harley is no good for winter as I Love to ride year round. Have a look at my Fireblade, now that’s a crazy machine! th-cam.com/video/PEqmLZaAFTg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=satB7rkUIyXfxO05
It is a nice bike, I have only just bought a 2024 AT , the same as yours but in black. Not picked it up yet but can't wait to ride it. They apparently have heated grips as standard but I can't see any cables at all from the grips, is this normal for this model ? Does yours have a cable from the grips?....great video btw, I will subscribe for future AT videos 😊
Congratulations on your new bike, you’ll love it and yes heated grips as standard integrated into the grips so no clunky wires. Let me know when you get the bike, new bike day is the best!

@@stephenwhincup7768 you will be pleased to know I went on it this afternoon. Being a short arse I just need to get my head around setting off and slow manouvers. Very different to being able to flat foot on my CBR 650R 😬 I’ve had it lowered could do with it being another inch down but I’m sure I’ll adjust. Heated grips are luuurrvrly, super comfy ride and no wind. Regarding cruise control it would be wasted on me, my bikes are my toys for short journeys but can see how it would be good for longer distance 😊
In the US the Transalp is sold with 8 hp less. And the Honda App isn’t available for download in the US. 👈No reason at all the app isn’t offered for Americans. So, screw this bike. It hates America 🇺🇸
@ Much better motorcycle offerings there for sure. I’d love to get a Tenere ‘Extreme’ or ‘World Raid’. Not offered to scurvy Americans. We only get the basic model. In any color we want as long as it’s black. I’m over buying a new motorcycle. Spending thousands of dollars on something that I’m not satisfied with. And modding a basic model to my taste is much more expensive and wasteful in terms of throwing away the replaced parts i never wanted to begin with. So, I’ll be purchasing a used XR650l and equipping it with Bluetooth and a few other accessories. Braaaap!!
@ I don’t know but the XR650l isn’t available in Australia and many want them there. Is this model sold in England? I think I really should take advantage of what is available to me. I think I should ride the bike that makes the Aussies jealous. Way cheaper way to go as well. Just a solid, proven, platform, that’s easy to work on and maintain myself. I can add a Bluetooth unit and couple other things, and get a bike very close to what I’m looking for. My other option is to spend many thousands more dollars on a new bike that STILL isn’t really what I’m looking for. 🤷
Here’s my Fireblade with the gold wheels, as I said at 22.15 but forgot to add the screen. Too keen to post my video 😂

Yes, an actual case where 'less is more'. Well, in many respects, if not all. Now at 20,200 kms on my (also white) Transalp here in rural South Australia, and really enjoying it. Important for Emma to know that when the last fuel bar starts flashing, it still has 3.7L left - enough for about 50 miles or 80 kms. I have never run out on mine, and have never stalled it either, with that rather nice clutch take-up.
Great review! As someone with back issues, which bike handles breaks in the pavement better (least jarring) ? Thank U
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed. If you have back issues then I’d recommend the Transalp as it’s so much lighter and easier to move about vs the Twin.

The TA looks so much fun to ride with that high revving engine and commanding riding position. Like the CB750 Hornet , I’m not keen on the styling from Honda’s Italian design studio. The Africa Twin and CB650R are better styled bikes but it’s the 750s I’d like to ride.
It’s a great bike
La calidad de materiales de la Transalp como; plásticos, pintura, mandos etc. es la misma calidad que en la AT ? Gracias, un saludo desde España.
I would say the quality of the Africa twin panels and overall quality is much higher than the Transalp
@mid.bike.crisis Muchas Gracias por contestar, mí próxima moto será una Transalp, 😊👍
Excellent choice my friend 👏👏👏
for me the AT just looks so much better... bought the TA anyway. Wanted something lighter in the end. Upgraded the suspension though (Wilbers 641 competition plus fork upgrade)
Both epic bikes. Update; wife traded her TA as she found it a bit too heavy for her, she’s bought a new CB650R with e- clutch, video to follow.
@@mid.bike.crisis I think the CB 650 R is also not a lightweight bike, did my license on that bike a few years ago. Different type of beast with that 4 cylinder
@ she had one when she passed her test and really enjoyed it so bought another. Not that I mind, I get to ride it too 😂
I am selling my Africa twin 2016la to buy transalp. I absolutely loved my test ride. Great review owning a old 82 mdl xl500r it's be old and new.lol great review thank you.jamie from Australia.
The TA is a great machine, I’m sure you’ll love the bike 😍
@mid.bike.crisis I test rode one for 3 days I didn't want to hand it back.👍
I owned a 2024 Transalp for eight months, and traded it in for a 2024 Africa Twin DCT five months ago.
Thanks mate! ZX6R is a lovely bike too, I love older stuff, more engaging ride
@mid.bike.crisis I looked on MCN at the Review last night and it said it will do 160MPH 😮
The ZX6R will do 160mph?
@mid.bike.crisis That's what it says on MCN seriously now I'm not joking, it's got 180 on the Clock.
😍
I think your AT with the Termi pipe is the better looking bike. Shame they didn’t keep the styling of the AT across the two as I really like the graphics, the stance and the front headlight, but the Transalp seems to make more sense overall, maybe not as good off road, but it’s a fair bit heavier.
I’ve got a 400X scrambler and have thought about these two so it’s definitely
Something worth looking in to… or upgrade the suspension on what I have.. different genre of bike of course but yet, can still do the same stuff within reason.
Bloomin bikes! Why are we always looking and tempted by something else when what we have is perfectly good! 😂😂
The Scrambler is a mega bike mate! I had a Ducati Desert Sled and regret selling it. We keep looking because we have addiction lol

I have transalp and I LOVE it!!!❤
I had a transalp earlier this year and bought an AT base this year. I could see why someone would like the TA over the AT, but i personally like the AT better.
I agree. My personal bike is the AT but I did enjoy riding the Wifes TA.
I Might have to actually ride it now, instead of just looking at it 😝
Have to disagree with you on something here.
You are the exception to the rule, and even then you are more susceptible to being caught off guard, than someone with experience.
Well said
I agree with others,In my opinion a new biker should find their feet on the roads first on something a bit easier to manouver.
The transalp is a dream 😊
I think bikes should be a progressional thing to work your way up to, Hoping one day I might b brave enough to get on Mid bikes fire blade 😬
Couldn't agree more!
@@jfro5867 The engine isn't typical Honda though...brilliant fun!
Both lovely bikes.
Yes indeed! Cheers Paul
Thanks Emma😊

Should I get a transalp and heavily mod it (suspension, cruise, …) or africa twin standard ES, im 170cm 70kg 🤔🤔🤔
Depends what you want it for, for what you spend modifying the TA you could get the AT. I’d strongly recommend you test ride both. Let me know your thoughts.
wait, this color in the africa is a manual version?
Yes, it’s the 2024 UK manual with electronic suspension
@mid.bike.crisis i love this bike.but its a too ecpensive.plus i wont do long journeys, plus it too beefy.i ll go for the transalp,or i ll see tommorow afternoon the new tenere and i ll decide
Keep me informed, I’d love to know what you go for. I love the current Tenere too 👍
I went from a 2024 TA back to a 2024 AT base, the torque of the 1100 is irreplaceable
Agreed, although the Transalp is punchy it doesn't have the punch mid range of the Twin.
how do you find the handlebar buzz between the two?
I don’t get any at all, I think my front wheel might need a slight balance as there a small bit of shake at 70mph
I’m so tempted to trade in my Ducati nightshift and or Triumph Speed Twin 900 for one of these … it seems like it can do it all.
The Africa Twin is a great bike and this is my third! You won’t be disappointed.
Good comment mate 👌

Buy an Africa Twin then, that’s what you’ve just described. The TA is a more basic bike for a reason.
@jfro5867 The Africa Twin is not a basic bike, and is more heavy, and top heavy than a Transalp, even more so than a T7. I would go Transalp for best between them, but it needs a second iteration because of the limitations out on the first iteration.
Both nice bikes..I guess it depends what your mission is..congrats
I think so too! Personally I prefer the presence of my AT but the wife’s TA is fruity and fun!
I love both bikes and I’m lucky I can ride the Wife’s TA if she lets me 😂
Love it
Cheers
What milage do you get on average ?
On which bike?
@mid.bike.crisis both if you wouldn't mind
@@scottd8555 the TA returns about 48mpg and my AT about 55mpg
@mid.bike.crisis thank you and wow really I expected the opposite
@@scottd8555 I think as the TA is more revvy that’s why the economy isn’t as good.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Move to the United Kingdom, we will welcome you with open arms 🤗
Braaaap!!
I wonder why the bike offerings are different UK to USA?
@ I don’t know but the XR650l isn’t available in Australia and many want them there. Is this model sold in England? I think I really should take advantage of what is available to me. I think I should ride the bike that makes the Aussies jealous. Way cheaper way to go as well. Just a solid, proven, platform, that’s easy to work on and maintain myself. I can add a Bluetooth unit and couple other things, and get a bike very close to what I’m looking for.
My other option is to spend many thousands more dollars on a new bike that STILL isn’t really what I’m looking for. 🤷
Nothing exciting about a transalp. It's like a bike that i ask why was it made.
Have you had a go on one?
I test road one. I wasn't impressed. It's comfortable. Good power but is just I don't know. Got on the africa and wow.
