That being said, I hope Corsairs get a more sleek design, with a lot of flowing movement to the models. It would also help giving them a distinct sillhouette, which imho is the absolut key factor for a good range with it’s own distinct character. That actually brings it back to the new Aeldari sculpts: they’ve kept the sillhouette, and that makes such a large improvement even more impressive. Props to the design team for that, and thank you for keep making content with a positive undertone, the community need more of that! ❤

As a big Eldar fan, I'm overall VERY stoked for how well they seem prepared to benefit from their update. I started 40k in 2003, or so, and there are sone of these that this will be the on time they've updated since I got into the hobby. I do have a few gripes. I personally will never care for Dire Avengers; the "elite militia" Aspect Warriors, nor am I a big fan of Swooping Hawks. I can't properly articulate how stoked I was, near the beginning of 10th, to actually see the Shadow Spectres creep on, out of obscurity, and carry the Eldar to their 75%+ success rate, after being a niche Imperial Armoury option from 20 years ago, and forgotten since then. I really liked them, and I'm sad that they see getting the Legends treatment, but I totally understand that the DAs, and SHs, are units with big nostalgia power, and they've always been part of the list, and relevant, so they are going to survive, but I'm still sad. It's also odd that Karandras didn't get a new model, when the Striking Scorpions did, and of I could have picked between him, and Asurmen, I'd choose the Scorpion. Regardless, everything looks great, and I might buy Lhykis, too, despite having no business doing so, or the relevant paint skill to make her look good! 😊 I AM a little bit surprised that her own color scheme is so different than the Warp Spiders, though I really like her black widow scheme, and the reflection effect off of her black body suit. I really hope that she has powerful stats, since Spiders will already pay a heavy mobility tax.
TLDR for what you'll see below: I love these new models overall, despite my nitpicks. My wallet will be sad. Asurmen and Lhykis are my favorites of these new Phoenix Lord kits. Man, I have quite a few thoughts about this reveal: First, hype, I'm SO excited for these new models they look positively gorgeous. It was always the old Aspect Warrior sculpts keeping me from buying an Eldar army. Now there's nothing stopping me from bleeding money out of my wallet for yet another army I will inevitably neglect. Second, specific points and thoughts on Asurmen. I like the new helmet personally. It gives him a much more serene, tempered look compared to the bootlegged screaming helmet he used to have. I find it's much more in line with his character and the aesthetic of the Asuryani as a whole.(also, the old Asurmen always had the yin-yang symbol on his chest) If I manage not to give into temptation and excess, Asurmen will be the only miniature from this new wave that I plan to preorder. Because getting this guy in plastic was a bit of a persinal dream that I'm happy is about to come true. Third, thoughts on Baharoth and the Swooping Hawks. I'm still not a fan of the bird beak on Baharoth's helmet, I get why they needed to keep it, it IS an iconic fixture of the character's design, and they made it look as good and clean as possible, but. . . I dunno, it still doesnt jive with me. Which is a shame, because I love, literally everything else about this model. From the shape and posing of the wings, the fact that the harness is shaped like a bird, to the tail-feather jet-engines at the back of the wing-pack. It's all absolutely gorgeous stuff! But that beak man. . . Theres just no getting around it. Which is weird because they made the beaks on the regular Swooping Hawks look cool! They're more indented and look like a part of the helmet, or just a fancy breather over the mouth and less like the big goofy thing Baharoth has. The new Swooping Hawks, btw, are excellent too. I'm convinced that whomever designed the Ydrilan Riverblades Warband for Warcry was headhunted to work on these guys. Their poses are just similar enough that I think this tinfoil hat theory isn't *too* far-fetched.(Also, as an aside, I really hope that the Blood Angels players will start buying these up en masse to add wings to their Sanguinary Guard instead of the new Stormcast Prosecutors. Because why else can't I find them for less than $40 on the second-hand market when I can get 10 Liberators for less than $20??? Side-rant over.) Fourth, Warp Spiders and Lhykis(mostly Lhykis). Let's GOOOOOOO! We finally have the Warp Spider's Phoenix Lord! I was already in the throes of hype when I saw the other refreshes, my jaw had hit the floor. But when Lhykis came on screen, my jaw plummeted all the way through the floor and into the earth's crust. I do agree, her posing is somewhat "violent", but that makes sense, due to the fact that she's in mid-leap, weapons drawn and focused on a single point. That very aggressive posing combined with her mandibles, weapons and spider body profile that runs along her back all contribute to the idea of the threatening spider, leaping out of cover or lunging from its web to ambush/catch its prey. Also, I'm of two minds on there only being one sword. On the one hand, I think that two swords might be a bit excessive if they're the same size, and they'd mess a bit with where your eye is supposed to go on the model, be it a sword on one side, the other, or the face, the one sword helps that visual flow I think better than we might give it credit for at first blush. But, on the other hand. . . Two swords for the baddass Phoenix Lord with 6 arms would be sick af. I'll say this, I think a dagger or shortblade would be a reasonable kitbash that lets her hold an extra weapon, while still maintaining the balance and visual cohesion of the base sculpt. As for the Warp-Spiders themselves. . . Ngl, these might be my least favorites of the new kits, not to say they're "bad" or anything, they lok good. But they're surprisingly. . . Grounded looking for a type of warrior known for striking from unpredictable, tricky angles as they blink around the battlefield. Id have expected them to be in poses more akin to Rievers, Ydrilan Riverblades, or even the previously covered Swooping Hawks. I wanted to see them posed like their Phoenix Lord. Mid-leap, weapons drawn, ready to ambush an unsuspecting target. But they look more like the Fire Dragons or Dark Reapers, heavy weapons hefted in a more solid and sturdy looking pose, which just. . . Doesn't really vibe with me based on how I though Warp Spiders were supposed to be. But maybe that's just me, I dunno. Also, I think the extra weapons on the Exarch makes more sense compared to Lhykis because there's less going on with that model visually compared to the leaping pose, the web and the extra arms. But if you actually read all of this. Thank you for coming to my Eldar Talk.
The retro yet modern style of the Eldar are awesome and really suit the models. The Asurman mask I also share the same opinion. A bit of green stuff in there should sort that out. Swooping hawks are peak parrot and parakeet! Eldar and Krieg combined will break the bank before Emperor's Children even get released.
Very happy with these. Eldar's one of those ranges I always welcome a new update for, since they almost always respect what worked on the old minis and just tidy them up, instead of pulling a Netflix Witcher and thinking they can do better than Jes Goodwin (Maugan Ra's probably the one fail there IMO, still don't like his new model). If I ever buy a Lykhis mini though, I'm carving that teleporting effect off. Having those kinds of effects on minis is fine, I just wish they made them optional more often, like the smoke on the new Asmodai, since I'm one of those people who thinks they usually detract from the mini.
from what i've heard. Due to law changes in the UK GW are trying to get rid of as much of the old finecast as possible so i would expect any of the old finecast models that are essential to ranges to dissapear/ be redone in the next year. Its why i think the emperors children will be early in the yuear so they can get rid of the current noise marine guns
GW said during the reveal show that DKoK are the first major 40K release for 2025, but EC could be the second. How many months apart do major releases tend to be for their core systems?
The models are fantastic, but honestly, the codex covers for the last several editions have all been so lacklustre and homogenized. That big blue-green background just swallows all the vividness you would want from an Eldar codex.
I need lore blurbs of aeldari beating Emperors children. I do think the EC are going back to their HH aesthetics: Purple gold and I’m betting we’re going for elite swordsmen + ‘cult’ sonic units as per that one most recent book.
I mostly love what they have done with the eldar. They have mostly stuck to Jes Goodwin's amazing concept art (we did have some rubbish eldar models after the 2nd edition ones but they were reimagined again to look better and lasted well until this update). The Phoenix Lords all just have a flaw though. Asurmen's face and Egyptian chin bit and banner will all need to be remodelled. Baharroth's beak just looks out and out stupid. I like Lyhkis but the helmet with 3 pairs of eyes just doesn't seem Aeldari to me - it's ok I think. The rest of the model is amazing. In fact they all are but there is just that flaw. At least Fuegan is amazing! I can live without the plastic fire they insisted on spoiling the design with but that can be easily lost.
*Slaanesh*- Bring me yummy Eldar souls. *Emperor's Children*- Yes ma'am..err..sir..err ma'amsir! *GW*- _rubs hands_ Yeeees, let's release a combined box to make people happy about new models without updating a full range, giving them a usable force, and get our kickback from Ebay. *Players*- Well, fuck, this pain and edging is actually on brand for Slaanesh.
I think a smaller sword with the larger sword would look sick, why not? We waited 30 years for the warp spider phoenix lord might as well take it to 11
The Warp Spider phoenix lord looks so good apart from the awful base. I hate how GW have to put their horrible 'special' effects on so many things now. It never looks good. I can't think of a single model off the top of my head where sculpted blood/smoke/slime/magic particle effect actually benefits the model. And some of them are so hard to scrape off too.
I love the new warriors and lords and am so glad they're finally getting their long-deserved refresh, but wholly hell do I love the model for Lhykis the most, like they went unbelievably hard on making her model. I used to main Eldar and haven't touched them since they started doing numbers competitively because I felt too bad about using what was seen as a meta army, but I am absolutely picking them back up when the codex drops
OK..I admit it they are nice ..but I'm sure swooping hawks in plastic came out before ..or have the rumours been going ...THAT LONG ! 😅 ....ps : like the cross ...want one 😊
"They're all there". Well, no. Striking Scorpions aren't there. And it can't possibly be that GW forgot to update their Phoenix Lord Kharandras right? Right?
@@bosscrloy I was referencing the picture missing them. All aspect warrior kits are now going to be in plastic but only 1 Phoenix Lord is still from the 90s.
Well, there are technically forge world Shadow Specters, maybe in future they would be ported to mainline. Dire Avengers are plastic, just really old one
this thing about pink and black vs purple and gold..... I think GW is on your side. But the community mixing 30k and 40k. It starts that people talk about legions in 40k although there are no legions anymore.
Bit disappointed that it's taken them decades to update these minis. And considering the fact that they are basically the exact same design is infuriating.
with the 'emperor's children' question, looking at the lord of excess colour, his trim looks bone and the armour looks like the middle ground between 30k purple and typical 40k pink, i think the lord of excess' colour scheme will interpreted as one or the other depending on the person remembering it, i thought it was purple, but looking it up now, it looks pinker than i remember
It is realy impressive how well the old Eldar Miniatures held up until now - certainly among the best designs GW ever did. I realy like the new miniatures as well - such a great update. However, I am not a fan of the back banners as it is very strange to use these in a war in particular for a race like Eldar - I hope there are alternatives for them in the kit.
I love the Eldar (they are my favourite 40k faction) but I really hate the way their guns look (just gives me the outdated vibe of 1960's sci-fi "ray guns"). I do not mind the banners or the big heads too much.
GW are self aware and know they aren't updating Eldar for another 20years so they just doing a massage job now. Lhykhis needs a wrist blade on the other hand, or the severed head of some slaanesh daemon.
Please... Eldar are one of the most routinely & consistently drip fed model lines. Maybe not big releases every edition, but at least they've averaged 2-3+ kits + 1-2+ HQ's each edition since 6th ed You know how many 1kSons models those poor bastards have had since their initial 2016 "release" of 5 kits? ONE. One whole new model. For an "army" that's 95% CSM bolt-on's & AoS rejects Maybe we can give Eldar a good long vacation so the *actual* in-desperate-need factions like Grey Knights, Votann, Dark Eldar, 1kSons, World Eaters, Custodes, etc... can finally enjoy some toys for once?
The new sculpts all looking incredible, 10/10 work whoever did those. We had to wait THIRTY YEARS for a good few of these which is frankly shameful, but my only regret about this new update is that the absolute CLASSIC put-down used whenever a Space Marine player had the audacity to complain about wanting new models ''Eldar Warp Spiders are twice the age of your average Marine player'' is now obsolete. New pheonix Lords, but at what cost? 🥲 (also speaking of cost I'm going to have to buy Asurmen, Fuegan, and Lhykis at the very least the SECOND they come out because holy cow) But unless I'm mistaken, isn't the only (non-forge-world) PL we're missing now Karandras? kinda weird to give us the Scorpion update a while ago, this big ol' explosion of new minis, then just leave him out and him alone? I'm betting it's gonna be one of those box set releases like they did with Jain Zar?

Man, I have quite a few thoughts about this reveal:
First, hype, I'm SO excited for these new models they look positively gorgeous.
Side-rant over.)
Fourth, Warp Spiders and Lhykis(mostly Lhykis).
Haven't all the latest Emperor Children teases been purple and gold? 🤔
from what i've heard.
Those new Warp Spiders will look lovely next to my old metal ones
I have most of these in lead. *licks wall*
These new models make me want to make an eldar army, i have a few but i love the look of these.
The models are fantastic, but honestly, the codex covers for the last several editions have all been so lacklustre and homogenized. That big blue-green background just swallows all the vividness you would want from an Eldar codex.
I'm gonna say I'm glad the warp spiders went out of the 90s but I'll miss the web on the legs
I'm so happy for Eldar players
I need lore blurbs of aeldari beating Emperors children. I do think the EC are going back to their HH aesthetics: Purple gold and I’m betting we’re going for elite swordsmen + ‘cult’ sonic units as per that one most recent book.
What stands out to me is that these look much more homogeneous to fantasy/AoS high elf designs too. Especially the Dire Avengers PL
Really wish we got a book on her, she honestly has one of the best warhammer models if I’m being honest.
So this is what Kirioth is up to while he's in the walls
ALL OF THEM ARE AWESOME!
But you forgot to mention new plastic Dire Avengers!
... Right?
Could it be that the overall blue cast of the Codex cover is shifting the Emperor's Children's power armour from magenta towards purple?
Lyhkis is awsome I’m buying it straight with the warp spiders I’m going to buy like 2 boxes I will gladly chuck my adult money at them 🤣
I wonder if the purple and gold will be fulgrims group because i think the pink and black follow eidolon, I'm pretty sure.
If anyone gives Lyhkis a second sword you'd have to be crazy for it not to be reverse grip (for coolness factor alone, who needs practicality)
I think a smaller sword with the larger sword would look sick, why not? We waited 30 years for the warp spider phoenix lord might as well take it to 11
A second sword may be a bit much since the first sword looks like it needs 2 hands
I really hope these new kits will be included in Kill Team somehow.
I’m so happy for Eldar players.
I think the new fabulous bile is purple and gold
Still waiting for the Scorpion Phoenix lord. GW just kinda skipped right over that guy when they released the Scorpions update.
Plastic Krieg and Aspect Warriors are great, but I'm still waiting for plastic Noise Marines.
soon, you shall have your reward...
Rumoured to happen in Spring 2025
These look so great.
I love the new warriors and lords and am so glad they're finally getting their long-deserved refresh, but wholly hell do I love the model for Lhykis the most, like they went unbelievably hard on making her model. I used to main Eldar and haven't touched them since they started doing numbers competitively because I felt too bad about using what was seen as a meta army, but I am absolutely picking them back up when the codex drops
so im guessing the heresy emp children colour scheme with be fulgrims personal war band and maybe make the pink black lucius warband
All there? Sorry brother you are missing Karandras the Striking Scorpion.
Amazing, but yes, that little Transformers mouth is getting filled with greenstuff
Asurmen is a bit of a helmet, yeah...
Right?
Striking Scorpions were updated last year
@@bosscrloy I was referencing the picture missing them. All aspect warrior kits are now going to be in plastic but only 1 Phoenix Lord is still from the 90s.
It kinda bugs me that Dire Avengers look so tiny beside the new aspect warriors 🤭
New Eldar, yay!
Yo this is sick
maybe they can finally balance their sorry ass Warp Spider
Honestly it's about time
I don't think i have seen any of the aspect warriors (other than the banshees) models with female body/features. Is there a lore reason behind that?
I don't think Fulgrim cares about colour schemes, just as long as you look fabulous.
Think Dire avengers are coming??
So, do all Aspect Warriors are plastic now, or do some are still missing?
Well, there are technically forge world Shadow Specters, maybe in future they would be ported to mainline. Dire Avengers are plastic, just really old one
this thing about pink and black vs purple and gold..... I think GW is on your side. But the community mixing 30k and 40k. It starts that people talk about legions in 40k although there are no legions anymore.
no howling banshee's ?
Prefer these shorter videos to the long streams 🎉
Bit disappointed that it's taken them decades to update these minis. And considering the fact that they are basically the exact same design is infuriating.
The emperor's children wont be pink and black as its a horrible scheme and too close to black legion , they will be purple and gold once again.
with the 'emperor's children' question, looking at the lord of excess colour, his trim looks bone and the armour looks like the middle ground between 30k purple and typical 40k pink, i think the lord of excess' colour scheme will interpreted as one or the other depending on the person
remembering it, i thought it was purple, but looking it up now, it looks pinker than i remember
❤️🤘🔥👍
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! 😮😯😲😳🥺🥹🥵🥵🥵🥵
Strange to use back banners in war? The Japanese Sengoku Jidai would like a word
@ We Are talking about war in the future with small combat Units, Advanced combat computers/communication and Eldar ambushes.
@@maugetar9340 and yet the various armies fight with melee weapons and wearing bright colours. Logic isn’t supposed to apply to 40K
@@Vaultboy-ke2jj i paint my Eldar differently :).
@@maugetar9340 good for you but the lore has bright colours for pretty much all of the factions
Eldar 2040!
Please... Eldar are one of the most routinely & consistently drip fed model lines. Maybe not big releases every edition, but at least they've averaged 2-3+ kits + 1-2+ HQ's each edition since 6th ed
You know how many 1kSons models those poor bastards have had since their initial 2016 "release" of 5 kits?
ONE. One whole new model. For an "army" that's 95% CSM bolt-on's & AoS rejects
Maybe we can give Eldar a good long vacation so the *actual* in-desperate-need factions like Grey Knights, Votann, Dark Eldar, 1kSons, World Eaters, Custodes, etc... can finally enjoy some toys for once?
The new sculpts all looking incredible, 10/10 work whoever did those. We had to wait THIRTY YEARS for a good few of these which is frankly shameful, but my only regret about this new update is that the absolute CLASSIC put-down used whenever a Space Marine player had the audacity to complain about wanting new models ''Eldar Warp Spiders are twice the age of your average Marine player'' is now obsolete. New pheonix Lords, but at what cost? 🥲
(also speaking of cost I'm going to have to buy Asurmen, Fuegan, and Lhykis at the very least the SECOND they come out because holy cow)
But unless I'm mistaken, isn't the only (non-forge-world) PL we're missing now Karandras? kinda weird to give us the Scorpion update a while ago, this big ol' explosion of new minis, then just leave him out and him alone? I'm betting it's gonna be one of those box set releases like they did with Jain Zar?
