Roachianna Roachianna she prepare 4.60 oz of sodium Hydroxide with 8.50oz of water (half liquid, half ice). And that’s what you’re going to use. Watch the lye prep video. 💕
@@amadelysdelacruz9087 I was confused with the lye video, because the pdf for both the beginner and royal upgrade don't mention those amounts of lye/water... anyone able to help?
Rachael Keagy hi there! Sorry for responding now! I just noticed the notification. The amount of lye/sodium hydroxide would be 4.60 (or 4.6oz) and the amount of water is 8.50 (or 8.5oz) which Katie suggest half (4.25 oz) in liquid form and the other half (4.25 oz) in ice. It sure helps not creating steam. Keep in mind the ice will melt really fast because the temperature gets up so be careful handling the container once you finished the solution because it will get super hot. (Mine got to 150F) Oh! And remember to pour lye into water.
Jep! Same here! A friend sent me a link for one of her Soaps because she found it awesome. I Got drawn in completely and have now watched pretty much every video! I love her personality if a human Can be your spirit animal she is mine!😂❤️and now i kinda want to make soap !

Yes you can!!! Be careful because Katie is correct NaOH, sodium hydroxide, lye, or wherever name you choose to call it will burn your skin and seriously damage your eyes. With proper precautions you'll be safe.
Katie, I have been watching you for two years. I watched you for an entire year and did my research. So February of 2019 I attempted my first soap. I was hooked!! And I have been making soap ever since. Thank you so much for everything you continue to teach me wether you realized it or not. You are amazing!!
Hey, I just started watching your video. You are an amazing teacher. I just loved it. Have a quick question, as you used titanium dioxide, is it okay to skip it or is it one of the main ingredients?
I know I told my husband that I wasn't going to get into soap making. I have sooooo many DIY hobbies as it is, but man it would be nice to do just "once" to make bars for Christmas Presents for my family, & friends/coworkers! I'm actually seriously thinking about it, but I'd have to do it when he wasn't looking LOL
If you do take the plunge, get your supplies in August and make a batch or two in September. If you decide you want to make Christmas soap, make that batch no later than mid October so your soap has ample time to cure.
Husbands always try to rein in our hobbies. It's their job, lol! Mine now helps cut, clean up and package my soap, and never complains. We sit and talk shop, our horses, 6 dogs and children. All things that were projects of mine! Except the kids and now grandkids, that was a duel decision!

I named my baby kitty after you. :) I found the Royalty Soaps channel watching your "Professional Soapmaker Reacts" video, but I think I've been watching your videos daily ever since! Thank you for your service Katie and all the royals. ^^ Love from Malaysia. ❤💗❤💗❤
I would love to do this but I spent all my money 😂 your soaps are always so beautiful and I always love watching you make them 💙
I love the tutorial, your positive energy, I’m watching don’t feel like making soap yet but the process is interesting.👍🏽
I LOVE HOW YOU TEACH. I WANT YOUR LESSONS TO GO ONAND ON. THANK YOU.
Katie, I love all your video's. How about a book???? You can do it! I would totally have to buy a few of them. To spread the word you know. Think about it Oh Queen of Suds!!!!
Excellent teaching: engaging and enjoyable.
Katie this is Awesome!! Such a helpful and bubbly video👏☀️
Agh, I'm not even planning on making anything but I love watching your videos!! I've had sort of a hard day and they are helping so much.
Really enjoying this video series. My aunt was burned badly by hot lye water when she was a child years ago so i've kinda been a big chicken about it. My tho how times have changed. Its much safer and easier. Think I'm gonna try it. I love to make things.
thank you so much. i really want to start a soap business and you helped me. i cant thank yo enough.
Katie, I am so excited. I made my first batch using the royal upgrade recipe. I bought different scents, though from Nurture Soaps. I made a Lavender Sage in 3 colors with a chopstick inside swirl. Lol I am an overachiever! It looks nice and I can't wait to cut it to see how it looks. I have watched so many soap vids that I thought I could do it and I think I did okay. Thank you so much, Katie. You are an inspiration. Love to you and God bless you and your family.
I LOVE seeing your TH-cam notifications pop up! I'm so excited for each video, especially this series!! Thank you so much for all your hard work! Xo
Katie. You are just so special!! You’re the best!
I so wish this series could have come out 3 months ago when I started quarantine! Now I finally go back to work in a week and won't have time for it! Still a fun informative series to watch for the next time I have a mini work vacation.
I really love your personality! It’s refreshing and fun. Oh and thank you for the information
Have you done a video on calculating batch size? I’ve found some, but I’d love to see one from you since you are so clear and easy to understand.
What an excellent teacher.
Eeekkk I'm so excited and a little bit intimidated... but I've ordered my supplies... anxiously awaiting their arrival!!!
Your personality is AMAZING!!!
I love your personality and I love how you are just being yourself on TH-cam!! Love your motivation!! Thank you
I LOVE your passion for soap making:)
YAY!!! I got my micas today!! That was the last piece I was waiting for!!! Unfortunately I can't drop everything to make soap today. It is one of those horrible all the deadlines are due today days. So - I will clean my work space tomorrow and then mix up my lye solution. Then on Friday (a day off YAY!) I will make my first soap. Whoooooo!!!
You are doing a great job. You're engaging and when you tell use something you explain why you do it that way like the info about micca. You are being a great teacher.
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial series! I am excited to start CP when I feel ready!
I've never wanted to make soap....until now. lol You are so encouraging Katie!!
