Elly! I would like to just stop and thank you for what you are doing, sometimes we take things for granted and do not appreciate how much time and effort this takes! Thanks once again and all the best
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you saying that. My videos do take a lot of work, being a 'one woman show' and all. But I'm very glad to help and appreciate that everyone enjoys what I'm doing here :)
It's 2024 and I have been researching hygiene care products to start a small business. I'm a mother of 10, that homeschools, runs a small farm, full-time house wife, and I try to teach my children about God daily. My goal is to bless others by making products that are healthy and healing for their needs while making a small income to help pay bills since everything is crazy here in America. Your videos have been a true blessing and I am truly grateful for you. You are a beautiful soul 💖
Elly, I have been putting myself through ‘soap school’ with your videos! Thank you so much for all the work you put into them! I’ve never enjoyed science more!!! You are a great teacher!
Massively helpful orientation to what the oils are all about; I have been wanting to get informed now that I e made my first 4 batches! Which I made thanks to you, Elly! And used your oil percentages to start from your beginner’s video. You are such a natural born teacher - clear and simple, yet tackling the complexities - and I experience you as guileless and kind and genuine and in earnest and your integrity shines through as well as a good heart. It’s gems like you that make the Internet a better place! Thank you for your efforts and generosity in gathering and sharing your knowledge in video as well as putting it in written form on your website! I will be the first to buy your books when they come out! Hint hint. :-) Anybody else agree?
What can I say? No matter what, it will be too little. Watched dozens of other soap making videos, etc. (Couldn't follow, or it was always something missing for me) After watching another video of yours *soap recepie formulating* and now this one, I can proudly say you are the best!... You graduated me with this one.. Literary for both videos I would have paid for it, and they were free. (Doesn't mean I wouldn't buy you a coffee). For all you have given me, it's my turn to return the favor.. Your work and efforts are very much appreciated from my heart. Thank you, Mrs. Elly 🙏
Without doubt the most valuable soap making video I have watched to date. Thank you so much for the blood sweat and tears that went into this masterpiece!
I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to make this tutorial. This is the one I've been waiting for! And I love the last bit concerning entering an individual oil into soapcalc and learning the fatty acid profiles of each. Didn't pick up on that little tid-bit of info before you pointed that out for us :-) You're a magnificent teacher/mentor!!!
Thank you so much for your time and doing a lot of studying to give us knowledge on soap making I'm from the United States from Georgia you are the one that taught me how to make my first batch of soap using olive oil and the coconut oil I really love how you speak clearly where anyone can understand even if they never made so if they watch your videos they will be confident and making soap and being safe
Same here Cavarena. I made my very first batch following Elly's beginners soap recipe video. It's in the cupboard with a container of damp-rid as I type. She's great (yes we're talking about you Elly). LOL
I haven't started making soap yet but have been watching your videos. I just wana say you are a really good teacher. I could listen to you for hours. May the Most High bless you for the work you are doing. All the best! 😘😘😘 Spending love from South Africa 📍
Thank You Ellie ❤- you’ve been my inspiration since day 1. I trust your advices and wisdom - your simplicity and transparency is inspiring me to learn more and to improve my skills further. Most of my soaps are inspired by your recipes- thank you so much again 🙏🏼
Hi Elly! I have always thought that you have wonderfully peaceful energy and I after this video, I am convinced you are a gift to this world. Your words are so thoughtful. I started my soap journey through the study of Permaculture, so your advice on ethically sourcing materials is exactly how I feel too! Thanks again for giving us your time and sharing your knowledge. You are so appreciated!
Thank you for this outstanding and worthwhile gift you have given, as well as all the work you have done in the past to help us. Your videos are of the highest quality and I love them all!
I'm from Belgium so English does not come naturally to me. So I´m going to say WOW and thank you so much! I'm researching soap making, because I'm thinking about making it for selling purpose. I want to know as much as possible so I could produce healthy soap bars. I don´t want to mess this up. I'm soooo glad I found your video's they are stuffed with good solid information. There are many tutorials and such but never so complete as yours. Job well done! Thank you so much. Bless your soul!
Thanks Elly. Your 'choosing oils for soap making' dropped into my feed again so have just rewatched. It has been an amazing help to me with soap making, and this time around has been an excellent refresher.🐾🥰
You mentioned SOUTH-INDIA, thank you madam. You made my day. Thoroughly enjoyed and got educated from your tutorial videos. All the best. Keep Going best.
You were and still am my most go to mentor 🥰 thank you so much for this video. I’ve learned so much from you since day one 😊 I’ve just made a 100% coconut oil soap with 35% SF. Unfortunately soapcalc doesn’t show the superfat in my soaps.
Thank you so much for this video! It has been a concern to me, because I want to make more moisturizing opposed to cleansing soaps, now that I am older. I found following other soap makers their tendency to utilize the higher cleansing properties that I have found drying and my friends have been embarrassed to tell me so! I have found your insight so helpful, I thought I couldn’t deter away from what others have said, and looking at provided SAP charts, I became a rule follower. I know as an aesthetician what provides the best moisturizing properties but the fatty acid break down has been enormous for me! It will also be a cost saver.
Hi Elly… I had to take the time to say Thank you, Thank you, a thousand times Thank you; For sharing with us your knowledge. I have watched several other soap makers and always felt like they’re withholding information; even deliberately at times. However, your thoughtfulness for sharing with us such wealth of information is so greatly appreciated. You come across so genuine and you’re not rushing through the video which makes it so easy to keep up. I also absolutely respect how you take the time to thoroughly answer persons questions in the comments. I have great respect for you. Again, thank you from so many of us… pros and beginners. Wishing you all the best this year and beyond. God bless and keep you always.
Hi Elly. This is a good presentation you make. I just would like to add that it is always the big corporations that make money out of any agriculture products including oils. The farmers? The real farmers who work and break their bones in the farms, not so much. Even with palm oil produced in the poor countries you mentioned, the money, richess and wealth do not go to the farmers. The farmers just try to put food on their tables with the meager pay they receive.
Thank you sooooooooo much. I want to start making soap cp and your videos are exactly what I needed. I haven’t made a batch but with your channel I’m learning what soap is and getting a better understanding of what involved in the soap making process first. I greatly appreciate all the time and effort you put into this.
Hi im from Bengaluru,.Karnataka....South India ....just started to learn the process of soap making .....ur videos are like proper teaching classes.... thankyou ❤
Thank you Elly for your time, kindness and sacrifice making these videos explaning every little thing so that l/ we understand clearly about soap making. It is not as simple as just mixing the ingredient to make the soap…
Fantastic so many questions answered for a new soap maker who wants to learn more, I luv the way you put the video together using a power point to refer to as you talked through each section. I will defiantly watch a few more times to help the information to sink in. Thank you so much for all your research and hard work you have put into this video it is very much appreciated.
I’m new to this soap making maybe not your typical soaper I’m Your Chanel has what I have been looking for… I made tonight your pine tar soap. Have not really understood what oils do what how and why. Your very informative and have a voice that is lovely to listen too.. thanks again for what you do
Thank you for your efforts to guide people like me. I am from the Northeast of India. This video is going to help me a lot to do some more research on the subject of oil/fat. God bless.
I'm a newbie in soap making, and I've been referencing your videos constantly. You are a terrific teacher! Your videos are fabulous and so helpful! ❤❤❤
I went to a soapmaking class few years ago. But I found many unanswered questions, which lead me to the internet & youtube. Then I found your video about introduction to soapmaking. The material in the class was no where near the materials you have been sharing in your videos these past few years. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge Elly 💜 I live in southeast asia, interestingly soap made with 70% - 75% or even 100% olive oil are quite popular. I think it's because those who like high % olive oil spend a lot of time in air conditioned space.
Elly, THANK YOU!!! I was so overwhelmed and confused by the shear number of oil possibilities. This, as well as your other calculating recipe videos, helped me and gave me the confidence to go and make recipes myself! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
I love how you break down information. You do it as if you were a scientist, and you might as well be one. I am a math and science savvy person, so I really love the breakdown of the fundamentals and chemistry of the soap making process. It could get even more technical, but that would not really be necessary for most watching and wanting to start soap making.
I'm soooooooooooo grateful to have found you and your instructional videos. THANK YOU for taking the time to do the research and putting this together! You are so appreciated! Super informative and easy to understand.
This was a very informative video on understanding the oils used in soap making. I appreciate this very much. I was watching the soap recipe formulating video before being recommended here. Watch both!
❣️❣️ Can't thank you enough Elly!!! I'm a silent watcher of your tutorials and guide videos. I've learnt a lot about soap making. Just thought to thank you, here.
Elly, I can't thank you enough for all your teachings in soap making processes and everything about it. You're the best and i have been able to save them for starting mine. God bless you more.
Really helpful presentation for me as a beginner i fail to make soap many times but i never give up, it will help me a lot, The way you focus on Environment, Sustainability that's fascinating . ❤ from Bangladesh
Elly I swear you read my mind. I think I need to research a particular topic and then you make a video about it. Soap calc, calculating for soap molds, lye concentrations and now this. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Ahh that's so cool Jennifer!! It's weird, but I hear that a lot! I try to be in tune with what people want and need, so something is working right! I'm so glad this is helpful for you, thanks for your nice feedback :)
Top video Elly! Very, very interesting and reams of information. I love the point about keeping it local and using local resources, something to really consider these days. The birds in the background are fab!
I'm so grateful for your channel as I research soap making. I like doing a ton of research in advance and your channel has been a wellspring as I do. I will definitely be watching this one twice. I watched the entirety for an overview and will be back for notes this afternoon.
Hello Elly! I have been making soap since 2010. I have been making soap using a recipe from the class. It was an olive, coconut and palm oil recipe. The teacher didn't talk about calculators in the class. This means I knew anything about calculators. Months after one day I was talking to the teacher and she mentioned it. Because I started watching soap making videos on TH-cam and some of them advice to run any recipe through a calculator, I looked for the calculator and it was very hard to understand because I knew anything about saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. I don't even remember the name of the calculator. Since then, I have heard of soap calculators Brambleberry, From Nature with Love, The Sage (something like that) and others, but they weren't of any help. They didn't give any useful information, at least for me, until I heard of Soap Calc. I looked for Soap Calc but I didn't have a clue of the information in the calculator. The great thing about Soap Calc is that it has explanation of some of the things in it. The other thing I find out is that the recipe given in the class and that I was using for years was 53 in cleansing which is higher than the range given in Soap Calc. Since 2020, I have been watching even more soap making videos. Also decided to change the recipe because I am starting a business and I want a soap that people love and come back for more. I started looking for videos on how to use Soap Calc and videos/article about how to make your own recipe. Also, I found articles on how to switch oils in your recipe because I wanted to leave out palm oil. I have to order all the oils online. They were good but not as detailed as your video. By far, this is the best video about Soap Calc and that explains the acids in oils that I have come across. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. 🧼💛💙💜
Thankyou for taking the mystery out of soap making. You are clear and consise, and there is no secret agenda to your videos (lots of fluff and no recipe) I'm grateful for your generosity with your hard researched information and you got me hooked on soapmaking when I did your beginners soap tutorial with my granddaughter. Thanks!
Wow, just wow!!!! This has been the most comprehensive and complete video I’ve seen yet on oils. Thank you for your time and dedication in educating the masses. 💜
Excellent video as always Elly! I only recently learned that if we watch all the ads before and during a video instead of skipping them as I used to, you wonderful creators get more payment from TH-cam. I watched them all, the before one was so long that I was able to make myself a coffee with my barista coffee machine at the same time! 🤣🥰
Hello Elly. I really thank God so very much for landing on your channel. It is so resourceful and it has helped me so very much. May God bless you and am looking forward to learning more from you. Kind regards 🙏
Thanks a lot Elly. I like your idea about selecting oils season-wise. You explain so well and your slides also helped to keep in track with different topics. Love from India. 😊
Thank you very much .That Is a great guide line for newbies in soap making like me. Cost effectiveness and availability is most important.. I watch every video of urs. Like ur way. Thank you again. Lots of love from INDIA
Excellent video!! Great information! Thank you for breaking it down, I did 200g coconut, 200g olive, 200g avocado, 100g cocoa butter. Turned out really nice!
I made two batches of soap years ago and want to get back into it as a basic way to start making all my own cleaning/toiletry supplies as well. Your videos have given me so much information, I am so grateful 🙏 Thank you thank you thank you!!! I really wish you and I lived closer so I could ask for hands on help or to call you haha! Much appreciated!
Incredible educational, informational soap making inspirational video. Thank you soooooooo very much for your time, wisdom and expertise. Exceptional, professionally well done. Mucho Gracias
Thank you so much for this video. I have been making soap for a few years now and want to understand more of the science involved. This was very useful. I love following you on youtube.
Thank you! 🥰 I was told about your channel today, and I've learned more in the few videos I've watched tonight than I have in the 3 months I've been watching videos. You are amazing!
Just a thanks will not suffice for your tremendous work, flawless lesson Crystal clear explaining, all the most touching the environmental issues is a good heart people do. Elly We are tree planting people , with your permission will plant trees in your Name in our next tree planting program. You are a few precious people we find in this world. Elly God bless you. Keep doing good job.
Thanks! Elly. I'm from Sarawak, Malaysia. This is very thorough and helpful information. The soap calc part is really great in helping me understand more on the recipes. Thanks so much
Thank you so much for explaining formulating and calculating recipes. I feel so much more confident in getting started now. I did not realise how scientific the whole process was and felt out of my depth to be honest. Thank you again for explaining it so clearly.
Thank you for taking the time to create this video. I am getting into soapmaking and sometime next year I am hoping to launch my business. I would like to no longer work for companies and be my own boss.
Elly, I just say you are so great and generous in sharing such intense knowledge after all your research. I have been looking for soap making videos for past 6 months, but never got one like you do. I highly appreciate your hardwork and knowledge sharing. Thanks.! I will sure, join your community to support you and get benefit for myself 🙂
I am just picking up again in my soap making after nearly three years on hiatus and had a “writer’s block” of sorts. This helps tremendously to understand these fatty acids and what they contribute to a bar! And further more I will click every link for further research!
Elly thanks for all your lessons as they’ve made me a better soap maker. I really appreciate. And you are the BEST TEACHER 😍. I’ve learned a lot from you, may Almighty Allah reward you abundantly.
Thank you very much Elly, feel go back to school again .very informative and valuable video.I'm Jeewanthi from SRI LANKA and beginner of soap making field. I learned lot of things from you .Thank you so much 🙏🙏💐💐
thanks for the great videos you make i am a newbie to soap making. doing it out of necessity . american in the philippines ( on disability )with a big family here to care for and high inflation . will be going the homestead route doing all we can for ourselves. i do have coconut trees in the back so first i have to learn to make coconut oil. then laundry soap will be first
Wow, Wow, Wow, Thank you so much for sharing you knowledge, This is a lot of research and work you have done when most would charge to teach. I've never seen in any video how the fatty acids were broken down in section with the example oils. I've been soaping for a couple of years but never took the time to do deep research. Thank you so much for your clarity it has help me tremendously. You are an awesome soap maker! Thank you again.

Thank you so much.
Hi Jennifer
Amazing video! Thank you! Loved that you said that we have to do our own research and also the environmental issues... Really important!
Top video Elly! Very, very interesting and reams of information. I love the point about keeping it local and using local resources, something to really consider these days.
The birds in the background are fab!
Ah thanks Trisha! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, there's tonnes to learn with soap making! I feel like I'm just getting started ;)
Yes, I thought, ok, if times get rough, I know where I can get my beef fat :)
I'm so grateful for your channel as I research soap making. I like doing a ton of research in advance and your channel has been a wellspring as I do.
I will definitely be watching this one twice. I watched the entirety for an overview and will be back for notes this afternoon.
Thank you. I appreciate that so much.
I just want thank you Elly you have educated me about soap making I’ve learn so much you are very truthful in your teaching
Thank you Marilyn, I appreciate that so much. You're very welcome :)
Thank you so much Nydia, I'm glad the videos have been helpful for you!

Haha oh that's so funny. Thanks Marion! (I dislike the ads too!)
