Just got back from the Drum Corp Grand Prix hosted by the Cabs, complete with a wonderful alumni performance. My grandfather was one of the bugle soloists in this video. Amazing to be able to see his performance, even if only through youtube. Thanks for the upload

I love them schlepping all that heavy percussion around before the invention of the pit. You really had to haul it onto the field and march with it.

This is real drum corp...every musician carried his own instrument. You lucky bas***ds today it's all on the field. The old days showed real fortitude.

this is when it was a real corps. Forget all the fluff and flags..they had a corps of musicians...and a few color guard. they never needed the fluff. Goooooooo Jimmy . Love and luck to the Corps from the former bartender at The Olde Drum Room.

My Dad played the 77 DCA album in my house and would BLAST it. As a little kid, I should have hated it, but loved it, and the Cabs performance in particular hit me hard. Never saw the actual footage until now. *sniff* amazing

It doesn't matter the year for me!! I'll always love the Cabs!! They blow you out of the stadium!! I remember a parade in the 70's coming down the Magnificent Mile. We finished marching and went back down the street and my mom was mesmerized by the Cabs!! Those Timbales and Conga's got her. We followed them down the street and everyone's hips were swaying to the beat!! ♥️♥️

Went to Dream show in 76, Cabs instantly became my all time favs. They just oozed Machismo while the other corps fell short. Although I must admit, the 76 Skyliners were a close second.

oh my god look at the angle of the marching keyboards! also, i can't even tell what kind they are. The massive one is a marimba, and i think the next one is vibes (without resonators, that's odd), then bells then xylophone.. Unless they have 2 xylo's instead of bells.

Think this is good! You should have been there. Show this to the kids but they only get about 1/2 of the real time effect. Guaranteed.!! Great Show . Was fun to be on that field that night competing against these giants.

Wish their was high quality audio recording available on the web of this show. My band director had one and played it for us in 1978.
