Thanks for this presentation, Will. One of my Great-great Grandpas was mustered in at Camp Nelson with his three brothers in the 8th Tennessee Cavalry. Three of my other Great-great grandpas were mustered in at Camp Nelson with the 49th Kentucky Mounted Infantry.

@@SPhan48 Steve, I do have some information, yes. Companies A, B, and G for the 49th Ky. Mounted Infantry and Company G for the 8th Tennessee Cav. All survived the war except one of the Great-great Uncles in the 8th Tn. Cav. who unfortunately died in Camp Sumter, Andersonville, Georgia. I also had one Great-great-great Grandpa muster in and serve in Company B, 49th Ky. Mounted Infantry.

My 3x Great Grandfather was in the Ninth Tennessee, our ancestors regiments were brigaded together from 1863 to 1865.

@@archdornan1722 Yes, Third Brigade of the Calvary Division, District of East Tennessee, Department of the Cumberland. If you haven't a copy already, I would highly recommend the book, "Stoneman's Raid 1865" by Chris J. Hartley.

I would love for you to do a video about the battle of Munfordville, KY. I used to be part of a reenactment group from there and I wish more light was shown on this amazing site

There would be no end to the references to Camp Nelson in eyewitness accounts. It seems like everybody in the western theater was there at some time.
