- The MacMaster is down under in Perth Western Australia and is meeting for lunch with an expat from England who moved to Australia when he was just a child. He's now a fully fledged Aussie who saved my life. I could have died of thirst if it wasn't for this man!

Know why Lee has gone to Australia for three weeks? To allow his car to charge.
Laughed out loud when I read this! Ha, ha!
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh my word 😂😂
So long as it’s 80% charged when he gets back it’ll be fine.
What a lovely bloke, a true gentleman, sending you the Yorkshire Tea and great company for you today, great to watch.
Great job our good UK mate Marty.I am very impressed and proud of you. Good publicity of our great safest city in Australia - Perth.
Not going to lie you are doing alright with these videos in Perth. What a beautiful place, you've captured it so well and sold it to me ......
Thanks Alan.
How do you know a plane load of poms has arrived?
The whining keeps going when the engines are turned off. 🤣👍
Great video, and yes, the over whelming impression you come away with about Perth is " such a relaxed city." Coming from a small city in the south Island of NZ and getting to Perth via Sydney on the Indian Pacific train ,we found Perth and its neighbouring towns to the south a very relaxing place to tour . Can't recommend it enough.
this chap with you Lee is an absolute natural on camera! What a nice bloke too :)
What a nice guy he was. I bet everyone watching this would like to of met him as well.
Loved the interaction with your new friend. I'm loving Perth and I really hope you get the views to encourage a return visit.
Same here
My belief he befriended Lee just to gain UK entry
My Country, by Dorothea MacKellar, who wrote this poem in 1908 while she was visiting England and missing her home country. The second stanza is possibly one of the most well known and recited pieces of poetry in Australian history:
The love of field and coppice
Of green and shaded lanes,
Of ordered woods and gardens
Is running in your veins.
Strong love of grey-blue distance,
Brown streams and soft, dim skies
I know, but cannot share it,
My love is otherwise.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!
The stark white ring-barked forests,
All tragic to the moon,
The sapphire-misted mountains,
The hot gold hush of noon,
Green tangle of the brushes
Where lithe lianas coil,
And orchids deck the tree-tops,
And ferns the warm dark soil.
Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When, sick at heart, around us
We see the cattle die
But then the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The steady soaking rain.
Core of my heart, my country!
Land of the rainbow gold,
For flood and fire and famine
She pays us back threefold.
Over the thirsty paddocks,
Watch, after many days,
The filmy veil of greenness
That thickens as we gaze ...
An opal-hearted country,
A wilful, lavish land
All you who have not loved her,
You will not understand
though Earth holds many splendours,
Wherever I may die,
I know to what brown country
My homing thoughts will fly.
Its such a true poem. xxx
Martin was brilliant fun, glad you’re really enjoying Oz, and not nit picking like some….have a fab time m8👍👍
Well done Martin. Great guest and very knowledgable.
Loved this video Lee. Your mate in it seemed like a really good down to earth bloke and a great laugh. Brilliant to see buddy. What a beautiful place☀️🙂👍
Lee, I am really enjoying your trip to AU. I will never get there unfortunately, but your high resolution videos make me feel like I’m visiting the country with you. Thank you!
War of the Roses comes to mind, Lee 🤭 What a thoroughly nice, genuine chap Martin is, a proper ex-pat from Lancashire, this is what you get type of bloke. I think all of us subscribers are enjoying your trip down under videos (well 99.9% of the vids, 🤔I'll say no more lol) You should be paid by the Australian tourist board, I'm looking for flights to Perth as we speak, luckily I have friends and family down there. What a beautiful place & not that expensive 👍
Good to see you using your air-con device.
4 half hours. 🤣🤣
The weather, how lovely. A little warm.
Lovely walkabout.
Good to hear his story.
Perth sounds wonderful. And it is so clean.
Your food looked tasty.
So true. About the adverts. But that is the power of advertising.🥰
Top man. Getting you some Yorkshire Tea. The only brew I drink.
You are right about the charts. I would not have a clue now. Ha ha.
Gorgeous sunset. Great video. xx
What a nice guy he is Lee, he's great in front of the camera.
Lee, we always used to watch your Tenerife vlogs. Martin is our brother in law and should be a courteous and entertaining local guide. Keith and Linda Donnelly
Listening to this man share his experience brings back great memories for me. We sailed out to Australia on the Australis back in 1970 and settled in Melbourne. It was around a 5 week trip from Southampton and it was sensational. Really loving these vids and hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. 👌🙂
Hi Lee, all the convicts that were sentenced for deportation to Australia were first held at Millbank Prison by the River Thames near Westminster. The prison uniform that they were deported in had the letters POM, Prisoner Of Millbank.
That's a new one to me (not saying you're wrong)... the three theories I've heard are:
1. 'Prisoner of Mother England'
2. 'Prisoner of His Majesty'
3. Pomegranate
I don't think we know for sure which is the correct one.
In any case, it always puzzles me why we are called POMs, when we sent the POMs to Australia!
@@Johndeplume. It's because you still live in the UK, when it's paradise here.... prisoners of her/his majesty.
(I lived in the UK from 90-93 & loved it!👍..apart from the weather & flat warm beer lol)
What a great character Martin is, he would be great companion for a few bevy’s. I have been to Oz twice before 1991 and 2004 but never made it to Perth, after watching your video I think I would like to visit. Well done guys
What a brilliant vlog, Martin was brilliant, competition now for Jeff buy cars ,and the silver fox 🦊,thanks lee for a brilliant 40min of quality entertainment
Fantastic vlog Lee, thank you so much for all the hard work you do to bring us all the enjoyment of your travels, your professionalism shames the uk mainstream media 👍👍
Thank You
Another great video lee, Martin is such a nice guy. Beautiful sunset and view 😋😋
Great vid mate. You two were so natural and very funny. Ernie and wise for sure. Loved it
What a lovely man Martin is! Loving these videos Lee. Making me want to go to Perth 😊
Amazing place sharp contrast to the state of the UK..
The UK is a mess. Laughing stock.
@@robblack7560. You’re comparing a country to a city , hardly a good comparison .
What a great vlog, a nice easy going bloke with a great sense of humour. Looked like you had a great day/ night. The steak sarnie looked a 9/10 for me. Loving this series , Perth really gets under your skin in a fab way , you are not going to want to leave 😎 ps grand lane fisheries for fish and chips and curry sauce 😊
Martin was a great guest. Very amusing guy
The next time we go to Australia we were thinking of going to Perth. Lee mate after watching your videos we're definitely going to Perth, it's absolutely gorgeous.
You'll love Freemantle - don't miss visiting the jail, it's a real eyeopener and heartbreaking - and Rottnest Island is gorgeous. Cheers from Sydney!
Great video. Martin is great....full of daft jokes. And Lee, get a proper hat. You need an Akubra - same as Martin's. Now THAT'S a hat. Hope he guests again in another video. 😊
I'm loving these Vlogs. Summit I think may be of interest is while your meeting expats to hear their story of how they came to be "Down under" I think there's a definite interest there. Adds another dimension to the Vlog as well as site seeing and food reviews. But loving these vids regardless!
Great video Lee, great views, food looked good, and your guest was su h a great guy good company 😊
What a nice bloke! enjoyinh the Aussie series makes a nice change and great to involve your fans, looked like you had a good sesh lol
Great vlog Lee Nice to meet up with Martin to show you round !!

That was a great vid Lee. How great is our city of Perth and especially the sunsets 👍👍👍👍👍
Love it.
Well Done Guys ,Great Vlog ❤
Well done Lee (and Martin) on another smashing trip video. Informative and humorous. So much better than any mainstream TV travel programme. We appreciate you filming it for us. Have to disagree about Vegemite though, it’s far better than Marmite in my opinion!
Aww mate aww ripper cob you ain’t half done a first rate job.
You knocked it out the park with this vid mate, well done, best vid I’ve seen for a while. 👏👏👏
Absolutely loved this video, I went to that restaurant with my best friend on my first visit to Australia. So glad to see you having the best time! Already searching flights 🇦🇺❤️
A decent chap is Martin. He could set up his own TH-cam channel. Loving the videos, keep ‘em coming!!
This episode got you another subby. Really enjoyed Martin's company, btw Martin you have a doppleganger a really nice bloke called Mick, great Stonemason (real artist with old stone buildings!) from Tassie
I work with Martin in a local Hobby Store in Perth, and it was great to see you and Martin. I arrived in Perth from Cheshire in 1969. Nice to see you enjoying our heat.
From what I've seen so far I'm really loving Australia. Could I live there? Packing my bags now lol.❤
Loving this series, brilliant, what a top guy... And you Lee 😀😀😎
Hey you look so chilled out as well while you are there . and not running around like mad .❤xxx
Nice guy Martin, very nice of him to show you around and thoughtful with the tea.Perth looks nice.
A nice relaxed video. Don't you remember the saying, "Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid day sun". That's why no one is around, we are all inside sitting under our air con.
Good job Martin , very entertaining. I was going to say the food is expensive but then I saw the plates. Value for money.
That is why it snows up in the north, you guys are upside down in reality!! So we have the lovely clear blue sunny skies...
Brilliant...simply.
Hi Lee thank you once again on another wonderful vlog keep them coming take care keep safe best wishes Sheila and family

Martin was brilliant.... Great sidekick
Great video. Martin seems to still have his British sense of humour, very funny.
Another great content Lee, thank you 😊
That was great fun, cheers Lee.
Totally great interview , would I be right that your friends family were part of the £10 pound Pom scheme back in the day . Which was Probably the best thing his parents could have done for their family , bless you both for an enjoyable glimpse into this part of the world . 😀👍
Yep, we were 10 pound poms. My brother and I were free. thanks Australian government.
Great views and I loved the sunset Lee. Another lovely video.
Lovely chap. Great vlog as always Lee❤
Feb and cold what a time for you to be away--looks lovely loved every video you have done down under
Enjoyed that ! 👍
Loved this vid! I really think this is the best series so far -since I've subscribed!
Thanks Annette.
Always nice to meet expats while travelling, Lee. Enjoy Australia 🇦🇺 and try to explore other areas too.
Great clips. The Pub, Hotel, and Tavern confusions? . Back in the day it was illegal to sell alcohol in an establishment unless you had accommodation. So in order to get around this the pubs called themselves hotels, put a few rooms above the pub so they could get their liquor license. Hence why all our pubs are called hotels. This laws does not apply these days, but all the old pubs still are called hotels.
The Ritz has an awesome view. Great Hotel too❤
Glad your enjoying Perth, I know people say it’s boring, but it’s not it’s a great place to live ❤
Great video Lee... and what a fabulous ending (sunset)😊/
Great vid as usual and what a great ex pat as your guest! Funny and informative! I’m aiming to travel to Perth later this year because of your vids. It looks amazing.
Loving this ‘new series’ Lee, especially meeting all the ex pats and hearing their stories, really interesting.
How you manage to get this sort of video colour & quality out of an iPhone is incredible, no wonder you’re called the Macmaster, amazing. The editing must take hours.
Looking forward to the Sydney side of things, especially the pricing differences. My brother lives there, left UK in 2003. I visited 2006 and it seemed expensive back then.
Keep up the brilliant work!
Loving all the stories from your guides. Perth looks a beautiful city.
Martin slipping in a bit of "The Castle" went over your head I think Lee. "Dad was an ideas man" 🤣🤣
I was in Perth a few years ago on a Cruise from Sydney, finishing up in Freemantle. Wife and I spent 2 days in Perth and then took the Indian Pacific train back to Sydney. The train was fantastic and took 4 days to get back. There was several stops with tours in various towns. The meals were first class and I think it would be right up your alley.
Great one Lee, more of this great chap as well please,
Thoroughly enjoyable!
Top 40on the radio on Sunday evening you couldn't forget number 1👌👍
Best bar crawl ever, keep up the good work.
Not so sure he would recognise the Rochdale of 2024,no one would describe it as a great place today.
Australia is now significantly more British than current Britain. Some of that Blue-Sky thinking worked out well; pity about all the bitey wildlife.
You should see Berkshire I'm 3 miles from Reading it's like living in the third world, so depressing.
Lee you look like you're enjoying your time in Perth and you appear very relaxed, nothing to do with not worrying about range anxiety and if the next charge point is available or even working.
Brilliant and very enjoyable video. 👍👍👍👍
What a great fella. Love the vlog as always😊
I've caught up 😂. Looking forward to this one👍
Cold in Perth is an 18 degree day, night rarely gets diennto zero. It is nothing compared to a UK winter.
You can have 23 degree sunny days in winter, like an English summer.
Nice guy Martin...you need to get one of those hats Lee...🤠...
Beautiful sunset and well captured 👍
Another nice Perth vlog Lee, Thanks
Excellent video , enjoying your videos from Australia
For a second i thought you were going to be hiking through the Outback when you said that you were dying of thirst..
Mister Macmaster! Fair play to uour mate for buying you the Yorkshire Tea😊 food looked very nice! Sunset 🌇 beautiful 😍 🎉
Well Hun I have so enjoyed this vlog its lovely to see parts of Perth..glad that you have enjoyed your time there and what lovely Sunset . See you again soon ❤❤xxxx
