Very nice tutorial and nice to hear Brad again! I remember your initial LaunchBox tutorial videos back in the days! I have an issue where the games launch fine on the Xemu emulator, but when launching them via LaunchBox the emulator opens and shut itself down in a split second. Trying to figure out what i've missed in the LaunchBox settings :O
Nevermind. Fixed. I did miss the - between full-screen. I thought it was a typo as other emulators don't need the dash in the -fullscreen cmd command. But all good, happy gaming and thanks again for the tutorial :D
for some reason when I select the folder my ISO files are in Launchbox doesn't see them, it shows 0 files found. But if I launch XEMU and select the files from within the emulator itself the games work, so I'm not sure why Launchbox isn't seeing the ISO files. Anyone else have this issue?
Yeah... I had same problem.. Don't use add folder option in rom wizard.. Use the add files and highlight all your iso files.. then it finds them all..😉
Really important to fill-in the "Default Command-Line Parameters" during the Add Emulator part, in case LB doesn't auto-populate this part for you when you choose xemu... or else you can't run it from Launchbox. So type in this: -full-screen -dvd_path
If you watch the video, you'll notice that LaunchBox will fill this in for you. If Xemu doesn't auto-populate in the dropdown menu when you open the Add Emulator window, simply select it from the list.
my launchbox install hasn't auto-filled any command line parameters for the last two systems i imported (mame game & watch, and Switch Yuzu). Is there a way to make it auto-fill manually somehow?
@@morsteenyeah it never filled it in for me, either, although I've been trying to get Xemu to work for years... never realizing I was missing this little piece in the Command-Line
So I'm having the hardest time getting Launchbox to see the files in my xbox folder. I downloaded my ROMs as an already .xiso format. I can open Xemu up, 'Load Disc', select the file (game) and the reset the Xemu application and it loads up and plays just fine. Launchbox for some reason just does not want to see the file, I've tried both .xiso as well as .iso, so I'm kinda stumped as to how to import these ROMs into Launchbox.
Please can you make command for extracting xiso back to folders? Accidentaly convertin whole day about 1tb games into bad xiso ( with one extra folder ) i just cant extract them one by one... if you canmplease help. THANKS ALOT
in the video when you are creating the xiso bat file it automatically changes the file type from " text document" to "batch file" when you add the ".bat" extension but that isn't happening for me, it's staying as a text document. How to I change the file type to a batch file?
This means that on your computer Windows you have extensions hidden. You'll first need to unhide extensions so you can see them to change. You should be able to google how to do that fairly easily.
It means you aren't giving it the correct extension. if I had to guess it's because you have Windows hiding the real extension. Check google on how to show file extensions in file explorer.
Ok I am still getting insert an x box disc Made the iso using the app suggested. imported it. made sure the game folder is called Microsoft Xbox just in case that was the issue. I can import the games ti lo launchbox fine, but xemu doesn't seem to realise they are there, Any advice please
You'll want to first make sure they can load into the Xemu emulator without using LaunchBox. If it doesn't, then that means the game file you have is incompatible with the emulator, if it works outside of LaunchBox then it means you may need to adjust a configuration somewhere inside of LaunchBox. That will hopefully give you a place to start with your troubleshooting. For further help, the community forums may be a better option for a deeper level of troubleshooting: forums.launchbox-app.com/
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC Thanks but no luck either way. Maybe have t try a different emulator. Retroarch doesn't seem to allow xbox emulation that i can find. thanks for the help anywau.
If you mean full screen, you'll see it in the tutorial. The normal Xemu configuration that gets added when you add the emulator into LaunchBox includes the full screen cmd argument that makes the emulator go full screen when you launch a game.
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC Sorry i meant fullscreen without the black bar’s either side I know it’s not to everyone’s taste, but I don’t care if it’s stretched to fill the screen. Thank you
You would have to check the emulator settings and see if it has either a stretch or crop type of option. If not, that's something you could suggest to them for a future update to their emulator.
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC I think you misunderstood my question. I found out that the black and white buttons on the duke became the RB and LB on the 360 controller, so it's all good, thank you.

@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC What about with the -r command? That worked for me on a single file but I'm trying to figure out how to create a bat file to do that to all the files in the folder.
I can tell by your brief selection of Xbox games that you are a man of culture with impeccable taste.
Thanks for this tutorial. It finally got me motivated to get Original Xbox stuff up and running. Unlocked a lot of memories here.
Good to hear Brad again! I feel like it's been a while! Thanks for the tutorial.
No ETA Prime? Well done video, with a nice little history.
Great tutorial. Very well-explained. Now time to play The Thing.
Great Tutorial! I appreciated the side informations about the system in the intro. Its time to dump some games now I guess
this is looking great with that breakthrough of an og xbox history, thanks brad!

This is correct, you cannot convert iso directly to xiso. You have to first extract the iso's contents, then covert the contents to xiso.
