  • In this Guatemala travel vlog, I will be talking about Couchsurfing In Guatemala: Trusting Strangers In Xela And Flores. Trusting strangers can be an issue for a female solo traveler everywhere but some countries have a worse reputation. Guatemala is one of them, unfortunately.

    This world might be full of strangers and we might didn't know who are those next strangers we will meet along the way on every journey we will take, but along the way we should keep our trust, while we keep walking on our own feet by our own faith, but with God it's better to stay brave, and we should always be strengthened physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, to empowered our soul and always be glad, and of Crouse always be thankful, because this world is so amazing and so wonderful and we are so blessed to be able to get a chance to see more of the part of it's existence that not most of the eyes of other people can get a chance to see them..💙

      Cool !
      It kind of depends on what you are looking for. We are cool weather lovers so we live in the mountains of Matagalpa. If you prefer the beach then tourists usually go to San Juan del Sur. Colonial city of Grenada is beautiful. So much to choose from…

    Hi Diana! I came across your videos yesterday and I am loving them! If you are still in Atitlan area there are some amazing people you may want to meet. One is a young local they call the traveling librarian that goes around bringing books to kids far out of town. Another is a local lady that teaches young women to make jewelry then helps them set up businesses and there is no profit share- they are sole owners.

    Hi Diana, I've been in Mexico for a few months, mostly in Patzcuaro, Michoacan, and am thinking about going to visit Xela, Guatemala. How have you found Guatemala compared to Mexico? Especially how would you compare your interactions with the people?

    • @dianawanderlust
      @dianawanderlust  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alex! Granted Mexico is my favorite country I think I might be biased here. I do find Guatemala very similar but a bit more expensive. The west side is very similar to Chiapas, and the east to hot an humid Yucatan or Quintana Ro. The food is a bit different, in Guatemala they eat a typical platos full of rice, beans, tortilla, protein, salads. People are equally nice in both countries although in Xela they aren’t used to many tourist and if you look like a foreigner you’ll get an extra attention. I’m not sure what else to share with you, honestly I liked Antigua better but Xela is also interested to explore.

    • @AlexA-cn5ip
      @AlexA-cn5ip ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dianawanderlust Thank you for the information!
      Also, it seems you like indigenous culture, the Patzcuaro area is rich in the culture of the Purépechas, who were an empire almost as large as the Aztecs but they were never conquered by the Spanish, leaving many of their traditions in-tact. There are some foreigners in Patzcuaro itself, but mostly they are retired Americans and Canadians, so unfortunately you can't make lots of young foreigner friends like in San Cristobal

      Hahahaha that’s funny but there might be a reason to it. Germans who travel might be different than Germans who don’t. Backpackers usually are very friendly and outgoing so it’s easier to make friends with them
