Chiapas and Tabasco during Meso America and for over 300 hundred years before independence were part of Guatemala (Kingdom Of Guatemala) plus thr Maya Mam nation is bi national and their language and culture spreads over chiapas and western Guatemala so most main cultural, historical and traditional elements are shared around this highlands area of Mexico and Guatemala. Great video and really fun to watch, best vibes and blessings to you both! 🙏 🇬🇹
Has anyone been to both Cuenca, Ecuador and Xela, Guatemala! I wonder how they would compare since the climate is similar in both cities? Any city being recommended over the other?.
I think it depends on what you’re after. As a city Cuenca wins hands down. It’s got a nicer centre and a lot to do in the city itself so is great as a city break or a base. Xela would be our choice if you’re an avid hiker though as there are so many amazing hikes in the area. But if we’re just comparing cities Cuenca would be our pick 👍
@@christopherhouse7937 that would be Xela for sure. Guatemala is the least expensive country in Central America. In Ecuador they use US dollars so prices tend to be higher.
Saludos.
Agreed it’s not the prettiest city but the surroundings are gorgeous! That’s the reason to go, not to explore the city so much as to hike the incredible mountains and volcanos 🌋
My high school graduation was held in that grand theater in Xela. Lovely to see the city I grew up in. Muchas Gracias!! 🌎
I’m Guatemalan! Nice video. I was actually there with my sister in Semana Santa watching the processions

@@KittiandJon Which city has a lower cost of living? Example… Rent, food, transportation, which location would be cheaper to live longterm?
@@christopherhouse7937 that would be Xela for sure. Guatemala is the least expensive country in Central America. In Ecuador they use US dollars so prices tend to be higher.
@@KittiandJon Guatemala is cheaper than Nicaragua?
@@christopherhouse7937 you probably won't notice a difference between the two but technically Guatemala is just about less expensive yes
