Fun Fact; The guy that George plays in the pool game is the legendary blues guitarist, Bo Diddley. 🎸💙🎱
Isn't the high roller with the pretty blonde Willie Moscone. Sorry if I missed up the spelling
@@johnvetereyes it was.
Yep, Willie Mosconi. Real class act and one of the greatest pool players ever.@@johnvetere
@@rmacdougallaliasdogviticus your right about that. I watched him and Minnesota fats go head to head good pool there.
I believe you are correct :) @@johnvetere
George is so bad ass. He does a killer version of who do you love. Haircuts also a really good one as well as one bourbon one scotch one beer. And I drink alone.
The guy he played against wrote and does the original Who Do You Love.
There were two celebrities in the video, besides Mr. George Thorogood. The very famous Bluesman Mr. Bo Didley, with the rectangular Guitar, he of the "Bo Didley Beat", and Mr. Willie Moscone, a Multi-Time World Pool Champion, he laid the money down on the Pool Balls. Seen George a couple of times live, and he is just as advertised. It also starts the movie "Christine", about a killer car.
"Shave and a haircut two bits"....the Bo Diddley beat....repeat the riff and you will get it.
Cigar Box Guitar, Bo actually built a lot of his own.
I saw George & the Ds back in the day. One of the best live shows you’ll ever see!!
His cover of "Move it on Over" is fire also.
Another George Thorogood banger you might like is One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer.
Yes, please!
Beat me to it. Classic.
Yes!
I Drink Alone !!!
Yes Please!
Delaware native here. He's a fuckin legend to us.
His concerts were awesome.. he's a showman on stage
I saw George Thorogood as the opening act for the Rolling Stones in the early 1980s. The J. Geils Band and a 4th Band I don't recall played too. George Thorogood was easily the best act of the concert, which I hadn't expected at the time as I barely knew him back then.
I saw George Thorogood and the Destroyers at Hershey Park Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania in the early 1990's. Good show.
Cool, BTW that's Bo Diddley playing pool with him.
Yes!
Shout out to that drummer pounding on those drums!! Awesomeness 😊
Bad to The Bone was a favorite on Married With Children tv show several times it was on there
In "I Drink Alone", "Move It on Over", and "Who Do You Love" George brings the same bluesy swag, but then again, George ALWAYS brings it, lol. (Love your "Delaware Destroyers" voice, Phil. 😄)
I saw him perform in a very small venue many years ago . For 3 days after I couldn't hear a thing. Incredible concert
Yah, I saw him play a few months ago in a dive bar venue that held only a few hundred people, probably 20 feet from the stage, it was so fun
One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer, another Thorogood to check out. It's more story telling than outright musical.
This song, Bad to The Bone was def big in the pool halls. I used to play pool in one big one down in Dallas and this song was played on the juke many times per night.
Great reaction guys.
Y'all be safe.
Bo Diddley, from Gainesville Fl. Great guitarist.
Loved the car commercial for Buick with this song.
I think the first time I heard this song was in Terminator 2 as a small kid & everytime that scene came up, I'd pop on sunglasses, a jacket & pretend there was a door so I could bust through it😎 Till this day, whenever I hear this song, I just can't help but belt it out...LEGENDARY SONG!!!
The Grey haired gentleman in the suit was Willie Mosconi, one of the greatest pool players ever.
This is an extremely common song in tv and movies when they want to emphasize how badass a character is as they enter a scene.
early 80s such a fun time in music! ♥
Back in the day, the DJ’s on radio stations would introduce this singer as George Thoroughly Bad.
He was called this as a term of endearment.
Love your reactions, keep up the good work!
His greatest hits album is "The Baddest of George Thorogood and the Destroyers"
I knew a guy that went to high school with George. He was called the Black Fox in high school and always wore black.
They played this song a lot in Married with Children. It was Al bundy song
George Thoroughly Good! Yes, this song was used in T2. That first riff sounded as the Terminator stepped out of the biker bar, resplendent in his new garb. The song was so well known by then (really, everyone knew it), that all it took was that one riff, and the theater EXPLODED in cheers and applause. We all knew what Cameron was saying with that song; HE'S BACK!!!
WOW😲😲people who HAVEN'T heard this song?? I been lustening to this song since the 80's😂😂
Yep he used to do a duel with his Sax man during his show. Sax man would go off for a while then he would Slide the Crap out of his guitar. Back n forth was killer! i remeber this song and setting on the front row in front of the speaker, he was jamming loud as Sht. LOl
The man walking in with the tall lady near the end of the video is the one and only...
Willie Mosconi : The greatest pool player of all-time...
in the 1940's-50's he won the Straight Pool Championship 19 times 🙂👍
Also the great Bo Diddley is the man George challenges and "destroys" in the pool hall
Muddy Waters.... song "Mannish Boy" played a big part in this song ( the hook & lyrics )
Another song for the Playlist along with Georges classic - One Bourbon One Scotch and a Beer
Thank you and i really enjoy the reactions & channel ...
Keep Rockin' ✌️🙂
Minnesota Fats has now entered the chat…WTF…am I a joke to you?”😂
Incredible and outrageous! Love this song!
I play a 3 chord song...da da da da da ..and I'm bad to the bone.... George Thorogood is awesome
I saw George play live (August 2017 with .38 Special the opening act) at the Ohio State Fair and he really brought it, super high energy and it was so cool to see him perform music live that I'd been listening to for decades prior. Another great track of his for you to review would be "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer".
Pool was quite huge when i was a kid. Mostly because we didnt have the technology back then, so we had to find things to keep us entertained. A lot of my firends parents, including me, had pool tables in our basements.
Much like ML, great singer, guitar player and song writer.
You found Lonesome George!!!!! Congrats. Enjoy!!
This song is in sooo many movies, including:
Christine (1983)
Lethal Weapon (1987)
Bull Durham (1988)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
The Parent Trap (1998)
Joe Dirt (2001)
among others.
*The Color Of Money* (1986) is a good pool movie starring Paul Newman and Tom Cruise, and was a followup to the 1961 movie *The Hustler* with Paul Newman (in which Willie Mosconi, in this video also, has a cameo appearance).
And used as the monster truck Grave Digger enterance when it drives into the arena
A love that sax....it's bad to the bone!😊
Always remember this song in Christine from 1983
George thorogood made nothing but kick ass music
There is a concert from Mr Thorogood from 1984 on here on YT he has some guests play with him as well as John Lee Hooker and Albert Collins just to name a few. This was used in the Steven King movie Christine
" Who Do You Love " rips it, highly recommend !!!!!!!!!!!!
Watch anything from you him live in jersey..bad a$$ concert...great job guys!!!
Her Phil, this song's original appearance was in the movie "Christine" which was based on the Stephen King novel of the same title
The Stephen King movie,"Christine" used this song as a Title Track
The riff is from Muddy Waters "Mannish Boy" 1955
I think it was played on the Married with children tv show!
After al loaded up with burritos and hot sauce
This song was associated with the movie "Christine" you guys need to watch that movie you will like it
It was used in the Steven King movie "Christine"!
Saw them live several years ago; put on an outstanding show.
George Thorogood is bad to the bone. Check out his song called "Move it on over" also. Great tune.
Jay Buhner when he played for the Seattle Mariners this is song they'd play as he came to the plate to bat. His nickname was " The Bone"
Another famous song with a stutter is "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
The movie "Christine" featured "Bad to The Bone" as well.
First time I heard this song was in the 1983 movie Christine.... that movie is Bad to the Bone!
I know this song from the movie "Christine".
Also used in Married with Children
Most people first heard this during Terminator 2 but did anyone else hear this during John Carpenter's 'Christine'?
This Willy Marsconi one of the greatest pool players that ever lived.
Two men to know in the video were Bo diddley who was playing George. Diddley a Great blues artist. The older gentleman with Blonde lady is Willie Masconi one of the greats in Pool and played Minnesota Fats to see who was the best a famous pool tournament.. Great song always enjoy George's Music. Pool is still played in many places just not fancy places.
''Who Do You Love''? next y'all! Great reaction!
The first time I heard it was in a movie called Christine about a classic car that was possessed and kept coming back!
I played multiple games of pool one night over the winter break. It's such a relaxing scene and it's so fun. Plus they always play cool music on the jukebox, me included, yeah and this occasionally does pop up for sure.
The other songs from George T and the Ðouble Ds you should check out are "One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer" and "I Drink Alone"
It's just getting started but I'm so glad that you added that extra paraphrase on it for George Thorogood and the Delaware destroyers, because that was just such a part of his early identity and that band was so damn good.
If you listen to the movie "Christine", that's the song that plays while the car "Christine" is being built on the assembly line.
Hey guys!! HNY and 👀, logged on the other day you hit 100k, CONGRATS!! 🎉
Today 10k more! 🥳 👍🏽
Love this song!! Def bada$$ and puts you right. 😆
Ba-Ba-Ba--Bad to the Bone :p the guy in the pool hall with the hat and square guitar, is Bo Diddley(who wrote this song) a blues musician from 60s-70s...he passed away in June 2008
I love the guitar playing for this song. It’s bad a$$!
I saw George play at a biker event in Los Angeles. After one of his songs someone shouted out "Bad to the Bone". George said "Oh I'll play it. And it will be great!". No one has ever accused him of being under confident.
I discovered George T. as the opener of a ZZTop show in early 90's... turns out I enjoyed more the George part even I didn't knew him than the ZZtop part that I was there to see in the first place... that means a lot about the quality and the party vibes he bring live... amazing performer
That's my ringtone on my cell.
Who do you love, one burbon one scotch one beer. 2 more classic song from George Thorogood
I went to his concert when I was in high school back in 81 men walked with more confidence than alot do now . Didnt cry if you got your feelings hurt...Love your channel
Before Terminator 2, this song was used in the opening scene of Christine, when the evil car is coming off the assembly line.
Gear Jammer is my favourite George song.
I saw George at SUNY Stony Brook and he said “This is rock and roll, not stand and watch!”
Had the privilage to see George and the Desroyers in 1991 at the Portland Maine Civic Center. Dam I've gotten old. Still bad to the bone. ish.
I heard the sax in the chorus before the solo.
One of the best concerts I ever saw...!!!!!!
You are the best reactors ❤
You could really do a dozen songs by him and they would all be good. I would say trying both the studio version of One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer, then doing the live version from the Capitol Theater in 1984, would give you a killer look into how respected and wonderful he is, as well as how much he respected the greats that came before him.
This song was my uncle's favorite, he always thought of himself as the definition of this song. Fond memories for sure.
Oh and while I am certainly not promoting it, my late mother smoked the same brand of cigarettes that was on the pool table, Lucky Strike (no filter), for nearly 50 years. Wow, lots and lots of memories.
Gr8. Song
I got to see George and the band when they were on the College Circuit back in the early 80s. They are great live! Other hit songs are, "One bourbon One Scotch", "Move It On Over", and "Who Do You Love" all in the style of Bo Diddley.
It is uncanny, especially in this video, how much George looks like a young Bob Seger.
Elias McDaniel, born Elias Otha Bates, and known professionally as Bo Diddley, was sitting in the pool room with his trademark rectangular guitar, The Twang Machine.
An equal opportunity bad bone. Keep reacting peeps.
Please do ,One Bourban, One Scotch One Beer by George live ft.Elvin Bishop
❤ to you guys a great reaction
That's Bo Diddley playing pool against George Thorogood in the video, famous guitarist and singer. o
His was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. You should explore some more of his music.
It also starts off the movie Christine
Bo Diddly playing Willie Mosconies money... brilliant
Pool is alive and well in Texas with its pool halls and many, many bars with pool tables. I'm quite certain pool thrives in several states and I believe there is an annual pool tourney in Vegas for big bucks... it may not be apparent, but pool lives on....
Lonesome George puts on a great live show! Saw him live 3 times.
Another band who did the stutter was bachman turner overdrive on "You ain't seen nothing yet "
Bo Diddley! He's bad to the bone! 🎸
First concert I ever went to was George in 1986 and he is still probably the best performer I have ever seen. The music is fantastic live, but he has great stage showmanship.
Been a fan of George and the Destroyers for years, got to see him in concert a couple years ago. Still playing hella guitar, took my son (25 yo at time) he was very impressed and still talks about it.
Fire song
This song was also featured in the 1st scene of the movie Christine. Go check it out.
The Big Black Guy is Bo Diddley a Music Legend !
House Rent Blues by George Thorogood is awesome also
Also in the movie adaptation of Christine ( Stephen King)😉
The first time I heard this song was in Stephen King movie CHRISTINE.
