Asia & BJ, you'll love his "One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer". Its an great updating and combo of two John Lee Hooker songs, "House Rent Boogie" and "One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer". I saw George in concert 11/20/82 a few months after this song/album came out.
George was a great ball player to. He played minor league ball in the Braves organization, and was considered a top prospect, hitting over 300 in back to back seasons before giving it up to pursue a music carrer
That is simply not correct. He played semi-pro for the Delaware Destroyers, who have never been affiliated with the Atlanta Braves. He was never even remotely close to being a top prospect, and I have no idea where you got these stats from. So you've either been lied to or you're just making things up.
One of the finest blues rock musicians of all time, he was always helping out old blues legends by inviting them to play with him, George is a good dude 👍
Iconic riff, great song. Be sure and check out his song, One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer, another great bad boy song. And, speaking of iconic riffs, if you're not already familiar, you should check out the song Mississippi Queen, By Mountain, with Leslie West making his guitar scream defiantly. It's only two and a half minutes long, but it'll kick your butts in those 151 seconds.
Love this song! Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood 1982. I was 18 just graduated High School started Beautician school in July of that yr!! I was 20 when he performed it! Such a good song about BAD BOYS! Just loved it!
Lots of cuts from this concert available to watch. There used to be lots of clubs/venues like this where the audiences were 10 feet away from the stage. --- Don't know if many are still around. --- Saw these guys perform about 4 years ago in Laughlin NV. Last I heard George was still performing.
I saw George Thorogood back in 1981 when he opened up for the Rolling Stones and J. Geils Band and this band put on a show I had never heard a single song from him at the time but after the concert the very next day I got his move it on over album and there is not one single song that isn't a hit and shows how talented this band is. I suggest you listen to the whole album and you will see how he can take a song called Cocaine Blues by Woody Guthrie old country song covered by many including Johnny Cash and make it just incredible by putting his spin on it. Then check out who do you love , another bad boy rock song.
Rolling Stone Magazine wrote about George Thorogood if rock music was like food, that George Thorogood is a Deluxe Cheeseburger with Fries. When I was in High School in 1981 or so my friend had an 8 Track tape of Thorogood's greatest hits as the only music in his car. We spent hours upon hours listening to it while driving and partying.
You'd heard the song before, but live like this, with that killer riff, and those killer slides where George's face reflects every sound? Just brilliant. I was introduced to this band way back in the '80s but to my regret, never got to a live show. He certainly could kick a... onstage.
"Who Do Love", and "I Drink Alone" are two more songs you should check out live🎶 Also, One Bourbon, One Scotch One Beer", live, showcases his great story telling🎸 George is a dynamic performer for sure!!🎶🎸🎶🎸
Was a teenager living life, school, working and chasing tail. Never had a thought that life would be what it is now. Those we good times, a golden period in time.
I saw George and the boys in the '80's. It was the only concert I ever left deaf. Hearing returned later that night...mostly. Great concert. He was louder than Hendrix and Cream live.
Yes! George embodies that bad boy swagger that some girls love ❤️ In truth, George is a very sweet, decent man and it was a pleasure to meet him. I recommend another one of his hits called “I Drink Alone.” It’s just as entertaining as this one.
I lived in Delaware for a while in the early mid-80s and George Thorogood would show up I live down by the beach in Rehoboth and there's a place called Dewey Beach and a little bar they're called the Bottle & Cork on the bay you could be sitting there at the end of the night and all the sudden you would hear jamming out on the Piazza and you go out there and George Thorogood just cranking it drunk off his behind he used to drink hard. You guys really should watch this whole concert it is freaking phenomenal
Ah yes. Fantastic song, fantastic performance. If you go and see The Yardbirds singing a Bo Diddley song called ,I'm a Man. "The Yardbirds I'm a Man (live 1967) ", you may see a similarity to this song by George. (You may also spot a young man named Jimmy Page on guitar)
George is still touring.I just read the other day that he and Sammy Hagar are going to tour together this year. I love George. I saw him play several times when I was in college. I destroyed many brain cells while attending his concerts. Good times for sure! 💯
For obvious reasons, I will forever associate this song with Al Bundy on Married… With children whenever he was about to do something cool. This was always the music that would “hit” for brother Al ✊️😎
Saw him in concert back in the 80's in Tulsa. Bought tickets at the door and got front row center section. Came off the stage and was walking up n down in front of us playing. A rockin' concert for sure.
I saw them live, 2001 in Milwaukee. Harley Owners Group National Ralley....absolutely the best concert I have ever seen! They played for an hour and 45 minutes, and just rocked the stage non stop, interacted with the crowed, just awesome!!
Love George, I'm lucky enough to grow up in a city that had a small venue old theater with a balcony that held only about 600 people and saw George Thorogood and the Destroys and many many other great bands/musicians!!! Now check out One scotch one bourbon and one beer song!!!
What was I doing? I'm 76 now and I remember like it was yesterday. I was in my basement drum room with the door closed beating on my TAMA ROCKSTAR DOUBLE BASS with all the cymbals, sizzler, hi hat, cow bells, click track, speakers blasting, sweating, singing along with my head set mic...MAN YES!!! All after a hard day working at the bank. Yep, never forget that basement drum room with carpet on the ceiling, walls, and floor to soak up all the vibration and sweat. It was the old coal room next to the furnace and still had the shaft for the bin re-fill from the driveway. BTW...nice reaction you two.
Saw him at the Fox in Atlanta spring of 86. Was probably the coolest rowdy show I have ever seen! Everybody grooving, passing whiskey, shine and a few other things (smoking in theaters was still a thing)! Was a F'n blast!!!
George facial expressions and bad boys attitude reminds me of Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison, all great musicans and performers. Great reaction to Bad To The Bone 🦴. Thank you.
LMAO!! Put those wings down and eat some vegan food!! George was the first dude I caught up with on MTV, back in the day. He killed it back then!! Within a year’s time, I was playing guitar, too... RIP to Bo Diddley and Willie Mosconi from the Bad to the Bone” video, which is hilarious, too... Great choice!!
This was the USS LaSalle's pull away song, and extra volume when the Admiral wasn't onboard or when the targeted audience was a foreign ship(s). The memories...on the Great White Ghost of the Arabian Coast! For those who don't know, the LaSalle was painted all white when it was in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf. A pull away song is the song played on the 1MC (sound system) when breaking away from another ship(s) or pier.
Lol! Made my day! My husband loved this guy and this song. Brought back happy memories! Ty for this reaction video. Luv your channel, even tho it's hard to watch someone as beautiful as you Asia, and not feel just a little jealous! Lol! 👍😊
A bad boy image, but in real life, as I understand, he is a pretty nice guy from Delaware. He's 71 now, but in the 70's he played semi-pro baseball (2nd base) and his drummer played in the outfield.
One bourbon…. What he said…. Great song ❤️came back to say - hey Asia I saw him live in a place like this one right here. ❤️ Still one of my favorite reactions from you 2❤😊
The Capital Theater was in Passaic, New Jersey. Built in 1921 and seated 3,000 plus. It was bought by a Rock promoter in the early 70’s. Lots of great bands played there. The theater was demolished after a fire in1986.
I was about 19 years old when this was out. I had the whole album and he killed. He's a master of that SLIDE guitar technique (see the metal on his fingers) . He was fresh slice of nice. Could not believe his attitude and humor. His lyrics BITE. He's basically playing BB and Albert King style of blues. Play "The House Rent Blues", it's every bit as good as this and has some HILARIOUS lyrics.
Quite a few years ago, a co-worker of mine asked me if I ever saw George... I said I hadn't. He said that it would behoove me if I ever had the opportunity. I saw him front row ten years later, and it is my mission to thank that man for insisting that I experience GT...
Lucky you bro , I've listened to him over a long period of time , and just came to realisation watching this video and having a listen to his tone and grit again , throw in a "Yehauooo", does anybody else hear James Hetfield from Metallica ! They could easily pull off singing each other's songs ! 😀
This a great song! It was featured in movies such as John Carpenter's "Christine" & "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" & the wrestling tag-team of "The Dynamic Duo", "Gentleman" Chris Adams & "The Handsome Halfbreed, Gorgeous" Gino Hernandez used this song as their music entrance in World Class Championship Wrestling fueding with The Von Erich Brothers. Classic old school wrestling! You have to check out the hair match where whatever tag-team lost the match, both wrestlers would have their head shaved bald in the middle of the ring! Also, George was a wrestling fan as well so check out his music video "Willie & The Hand Jive". It's on TH-cam
This whole concert is off the chain he's got the dancing feet of Fred Astaire in this concert he has Elvin Bishop special gas John Lee Hooker I think. I think like three special get big superstars in the day Blues
Sadly underated but a great story teller and beautiful guitar player!! Bravo guys for taking a listen!! His wife died in 2019 ovarian cancer he set up foundation in her name, their daughter RIO plays guitar as well Just a lil fyi :)
Another great reaction. I love y'alls connection. When this song came out, parents in my town started getting upset with us young teen boy's response. To be honest, we were too ignorant to really be bad. Thank you.
This song is, was and will always bee so totally, totally cool. Guess that's why they played it in The Terminator with Big Arnold. Arnold doesn't play. Cool.
Welcome to the world of down and dirty roadhouse blues/rock. Another good tune by Thorogood was "Night Time" more bad boy lyrics and he cuts loose more. Oh, and in 1984 when this came out I was 14 and going to Thorogood concerts.

To your generation won't be able to enjoy music/concerts like n the 80s/90s, can't understand todays music
That's a favorite ❤
George was a great ball player to. He played minor league ball in the Braves organization, and was considered a top prospect, hitting over 300 in back to back seasons before giving it up to pursue a music carrer
You mean the 2021 World Series Champion Braves
@@soulcrusher0357 no this would have been more like the mid to late 70s
I never he was a baseball player that’s cool
@@richardcranium5048 ok thanks for that tidbit

I saw George perform last year on Fremont Street here in Vegas. 72 years old and STILL rockin' just as good on that guitar as he always has.
I saw him in concert in 1983. He put on a great show! One of the great entertainers of all time and a real rocker! Love your reaction!
One of the finest blues rock musicians of all time, he was always helping out old blues legends by inviting them to play with him, George is a good dude 👍

I agree Mississippi Queen is pure gold.
Definitely check out One Bourbon One Scotch and One Beer. I however prefer the cover of Mississippi Queen by Zakk Wylde
Yes and make sure it's the one from the Capital with Elvin Bishop.
I wonder how many films and TV shows this song has been featured in?
Has to be a bunch.
Love this song! Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood 1982. I was 18 just graduated High School started Beautician school in July of that yr!! I was 20 when he performed it! Such a good song about BAD BOYS! Just loved it!

My oldest child was conceived at a his concert on 11/01/91. Great concert! Her dad and I had a Awsome time!
I was never a bad ass but this song made me feel like one. Should try " Move it on Over"
move it on over was written by Hank Williams SR.
we framed houses to music such as this!
I saw George Thorogood back in 1981 when he opened up for the Rolling Stones and J. At one of the concerts on that tour, when the Stones left the stage, before their encore, the crowd was cheering for George to come back
Rolling Stone Magazine wrote about George Thorogood if rock music was like food, that George Thorogood is a Deluxe Cheeseburger with Fries.

"I Drink Alone" is hilarious, and a great number.
One of the most memorable guitar riffs in rock. George Thorogood threw down back in the day!
Thank you for playing this, my husbands in a nursing home and this was his favorite song.
Was a teenager living life, school, working and chasing tail.

At 5:45 when George sticks his tongue out like VENOM, Asia is like "ohhh", I almost fell out of my seat!
My Son knew every word to this song by the time he was 2 1/2-
Thanks for the great memories- I’d forgotten all about it! Awesome

My mom took me to my first rock concert; it was George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers at the Fox Theater in Atlanta in 1984.
About 40 years ago me and my bud used to roll around in his Convertible Chevy Camaro listening to George’s Very Best Of. This is the song. RIP Boy.
Saw him at the Spirit Fest in Kansas City. Great live performer! Nice reaction.
Such a classic! Bad to the Bone! So awesome you reacted to this.
I have seen George live twice. He legit ages backwards in any show he does. For real.
I just love this guy!!!
His facial expressions tell the story.
This has been my younger brother's theme song since 1987. He was born with health issues, but he fought through it. 💙 from a couple hours south!
George facial expressions and bad boys attitude reminds me of Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison, all great musicans and performers. Great reaction to Bad To The Bone 🦴. Thank you.
Love me some George Thorogood. Love this song!
Seen him in the House of Blues in Houston, a few years ago. A great performer 🙂

I saw him open for the rolling stones in early 82 in Phoenix. He's definitely bad to the bone
Saw George at Oklahoma Zoo Ampitheater about 13 yrs ago,
he is still bad to the bone lol. He was opening for ZZ Top.
Was an awesome evening!
Check out Terminator 2: Judgement Day. When Arnold puts on his shades, this comes on the soundtrack. One of the great moments in film history.
Outdoor summer double header George Thorogood & The Destroyers and Stevie Ray Vaughan was just something we did one night in the 80s. 😊
Great song and live performers which I believe took place in Passaic, New Jersey..
I freaking love you guys! You’ve always got me smiling watching you react. Please keep it up, you look so happy together and that makes me happy.
I went to one of his concerts in the 80s in LA
The Capital Theater was in Passaic, New Jersey. Built in 1921 and seated 3,000 plus. It was bought by a Rock promoter in the early 70’s. Lots of great bands played there. The theater was demolished after a fire in1986.

I heard this song about 4 or 5 times at Seattle Mariners games when Jay Buhner played for them it was the song played when Jay was coming to bat.
One of the best slide guitar players out there. Great entertainer, too.

Some of the funniest ending discussions. Am cracking up about the chicken and how it went off on a tangent. Love it!!
Hot Number! I think that song has been used in more movies than any other song I have heard. George is still a thoroughly great stage performer.
Love the old school
Watch Thorogood’s live version of the Chuck Berry classic “Reelin’& Rockin’………epic!
Every song from him is bad boy rock lol. Seen him twice he kills it live
Cool.
Super Country, Super Rock, Super Hardcore. Our like they use to say in the Fifties, "Cool Daddy'O" Cool.
I was in high school when this came out
You like him, then you need to see Joan Jett live - she is a female version of George Thorogood. She is wild to watch.
I've seen George Thorogood at least 10 times. You should really catch one of his shows, you won't be disappointed.
George and the Delaware Destroyers! Many good songs suggested below. Keep rocking!
Hahahaha Asia's eyes when he gives her the low-down on being Bad to the Bone!
Saw these guys live in Australia in the eighties - smaller venue - great gig the crowd was heaving ! Just too good live - still touring.
Asia , your face was a picture during this . U enjoyed it so much . Great .
THE pool hall tune.
Welcome to the world of down and dirty roadhouse blues/rock. Another good tune by Thorogood was "Night Time" more bad boy lyrics and he cuts loose more. Oh, and in 1984 when this came out I was 14 and going to Thorogood concerts.
