I actually tried this diet about 7 years ago. It wasn't called the Military Diet then though, I heard about it from someone who needed to lose some weight quickly before a surgical procedure. I don't think it was intended as a long term diet, but I managed to follow it 5 days per week (mon-fri) and then on Saturday and Sunday I would eat normal meals and normal sized portions of healthy foods and have one of my meals on either Saturday or Sunday that was a sort of "cheat meal" like a burger or some pizza, then back to it again on Monday. I did that religiously for 8 months and lost over 70lbs. The first couple weeks sucked but after that it was like my body adapted to it and it was fine. I even found that after a while I felt like crap after I had a "cheat meal" of burger and fries or a big burrito when a few months earlier I was eating that sort of food for most meals. It works, but it can be hard to stick to all the time unless you can work a couple day of eating larger portions in there somewhere.
i tried this diet for 12 days over xmas 2015. I used the list of substitutions as i dont like cottage cheese and i only excercised 2 days a week, and I lost 23LB in 12 days so this definately works
It literally has nothing to do with the specific food you're eating.. the diet works because your'e eating less than 1000 calories a day... you can change things if they are the same ammt of calories.... the diet is working because you're basically starving your body

Everyone of these military diets I've watched they only lost 3 pound. I am going to try it but honestly I can lose that much by just taking a walk everyday on my regular diet. Thank you for sharing your results.

Congratulations! This is really a tough one. When i tried this, I lost 4 lbs. But the diet does not really end after 3 days. I read in another blog that you need to limit your food intake to only 1000 calories. And i am still at it. Eventually, you'll get use to the limited amount of food
I lost 10 lb since I started drinking Weight Loss Green Store Tea product !! of course you have to be conscious of it and not eat as often if your body tells you youre not hungry. If you keep eating the same amount, whats the point? but you will not feel as hungry and I stand by it

Every time you say you're hungry 😋 I laugh because I ate only two times a day and I feel super good, I even go to the gym every single day work for 1 or 2 hrs.
I just did it and lost 4lbs. Not easy as meals get smaller but I must say after the 3rd day for me cravings subsided a lot. I think drinking lots of green tea, water and adding grapefruit will definitely boost weight loss. I will definitely try this diet again.

I recommend the south beach diet from personal experience. It totally removes carbs for the first stage, and slowly adds more on as you go on. I was losing 10 pounds a week for a full two months until I stopped doing it and gained it all back. The diet was actually meant for people with heart problems, but really does help with weight loss.
So I did this diet for 3 days and it went good. I lost bodyfat ( I think) because I look more thinner now in the mirror. I was hungry af day 2 but I did it and it was really good. I'm feeling morr healthy and happy. I don't know if it will work for you but it worked for me and I'm going to repeat the diet some day.
I'd loose 20 lbs in 5 days if I ate this amount of food...but I do workout so that's probably the type of diet that's not for very active people.. you'd faint
I have found that weekly colonics help the most but only eating fruit and veggies during the day , except fiber with breakfast,and having a sensible dinner worked best for me. Never eat more than a handful and eat every two hours to prevent your blood sugar from dipping and your body thinking you are starving. Most of these diets work great once you empty out your colon and have a practically empty stomach, but the first time you eat a full meal the belly is back.
i see many misquoting the 10 lbs in 3 day diet. the diet is supposed to be with working out. you can still lose a couple pounds or so with just the diet.

For peanut butter, you can substitute the same amount of almond butter, pumpkin butter, soy butter, sunflower seed butter, hummus or bean dip. Two tablespoons of plain sunflower seeds also works. For one whole banana, substitute 2 kiwis, 1 cup of papaya or 2 apricots. Plums, grapes and apple sauce also work. Just make sure you eat the same amount of calories and not more. As a grapefruit substitute, you can put 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it. Alternatively, you can squeeze the juice of the grapefruit and add Stevia. Other than that, there isn’t really a grapefruit substitute. Hope this helped :)

Orange is a very bad replacement for the grapefruit, it's more about the pH level of the food, You can visit ' themilitarydiet.com ' to check for replacements but there really is no food to use as a replacement for the grapefruit.
I tried this diet, with no substitutions and lost only 4lbs. I workout 6 days per week, i run & do 3 30min cardio classes per week. It actually felt like i only lost water weight with this diet tbh results vary, some people loose 10lbs some only a few. My body must've thought "hey...i know this trick! Haha nice try dude!"

Could it be the type/brand of food I'm eating or the sleep I'm getting. I have worked out at least once during the three days but i read no excerise required.
Possibly! Are you keeping track of how many calories you're eating? Also, are you adding any additional dressings? Those could be reasons. 3 pounds and 2.6 pounds are pretty good results though :)

Having a job helps your diet because it helps you manages time. If you are sitting at home doing nothing, you may eat more because time isn't moving!

Thank you! For measurement I used a measuring cup. So you could get those at the store. That's roughly around 227 grams!

Why did you say that's 2 tablespoons of peanut butter when at the very most it's 2 teaspoons (IF that)?
I measured it out and it was 2 tablespoons. It might not look like a lot though!

Look at the calories. If it is more than the vanilla ice cream, then no. I wouldn't recommend it.
