I got excited on the spot and he even offered me for a test drive. I turned it down because I was just visiting them and had other meetings that days. Anyway, hoping a discount from them later 🤣🤣🤣
How you get that fuel consumption is beyond me. The most I have ever managed in traffic is 7 km per liter and on a run of 160 Kms, I only achieved 12 km per liter and I am very light footed. (All in normal mode). I still think the original is the best looking version. The new one looks like a Geely Expander! I have had my Coolray sport for 22 trouble free months and it always puts a smile on my face when I drive it but would I buy another? Unfortunately not as the possibilities of using its full potential here in Cebu are non existent. My previous car was a Peugeot 3008 and my next buy will be a Peugeot 2008.

what set this apart is what reviewers dont talk about too much NCAP SCORE!!!! i chose between ford territory titanium (much beefier for the looks which i loved) and GCR . but the deciding factor since i have kids is SAFETY FIRST. 5 star NCAP for the geely while 3 star for the territory AND 5 years warranty for the geely and VERY SADLY 3 yrs for the ford not helping with all their transmission issue reviews. i took a 3 yr loan so while im already paid my coolray is still 2 yrs warrantied. peace of mind and that speaks of how OCNFIDENT they are with their product. but i still love how the terriroty looks about isang paligo ang lamang kay coolray. hope that helps to deciding people out there
as a Coolray SE owner,i wouldn't complain if the gas consumption gets high especially if you put it sport mode. if gas consumption is your top priority maybe it's not the car for you. in terms of parts availability there are really cases that it could take you months to get a replacement or even a year,but that would depend on the dealers cu'z some of them got it pretty quickly. it's not just geely that had part issues, but also established brands. but yes,it would really bring back the fun in driving 😁

Fuel consumption is only bad when you have a heavy foot.. if you just cruise @ 70-80+ kph, it is actually good..you can get 13-18 km per liter depending on the road condition and traffic..

Geely Coolray very nice car. But once parts get damage you have to wait 4 to 6 months or a year to replace the parts. Which is headache for some owners.
Pano ang may problema minsan yung gumagamit. Feel na feel nila pang Ricing Ricing yung dala nilang crossover tapos maninibago di madali macontrol gaya ng sedan. At pag oras na ng ayusan. Iyakan na wala daw pyesa.
My friend has a 2014 Vios 1.5 sport special edition and he wanted just a headlight bulb. He waited 4 months and Toyota woul only sell him 2. They cost him 10,000 pesos! No dealerships carry parts except for normal servicing stuff. Another friend needed a interior door handle for his Sportage. Waited 4 months.

Yes, it's the COOL variant, but they removed the paddle shifters. This current variant we have here has a front under seat aircon vents for the rear passengers, though it might take longer to cool the back part but at least there's cool air blowing to them.
Hi, would like to ask the average aircon temperature when you tested the coolray for normal mode? Because my 2022 coolray premium consumes gasoline like 8km/L on eco mode city driving with 25 degrees aircon temp fan speed 2.
I'm guessing they are both owned by the same person. They park that close as a bit of security. The old Land Rovers don't have very good security features haha.
had the chance to test drive both vehicles and I chose CS35 Plus Luxe in the end, same chinese car, for me mas value for money lang talaga yung changan. Air vent sa likod, larger trunk space, ADAS and ACC talaga yung nagin deciding factor ko dito sa dalawa.
Finally, improved spoiler haha! though I stil prefer the expanding cosmos haha. BTW, I thought they changed the shifter? or is that only applicable to the comfort and premium variants? Anyway, nice review Caco, as always! :)
I love my original coolray fascia, the expanding cosmos grille and fog lamps are what make it COOL...and man that fun power, I will not trade it with a little difference in fuel savings.
I really want this car but i am really afraid that i like other car brands which is not as popular as the other brands. I would have problem in finding spare parts. I had this issue with my hyundai car and same for ford. How does this car brand fair on their spare parts availability on the market? In the event i need part replacements? Fuel consumption ain’t that bad for a 1.5 Turbo with 177hp and 255Nm of torque. My 2.0 Mazda 3 is a tad worse in terms of fuel consumption with a slightly less power and torque than the Coolray.
For some reason the variant here na review although its new SE sport but the shifter knob is still the old one.. mine kasi bago na same variant SE Sport but I prefer the old one because it has the light gear indicator. So many of my family was so confused and had to teach them to look in the dash instead, to know what gear they are. Whats reason na old shift knob pa din itong na review? Did they changed it?
Nilampaso ng Raize ang ford territory sa sales, DOes tha mean Raize is better? There are many buyers that rely on brands and not the actual/up to date QUALITY/Performance/per peso.
I think vios has a different market from coolray since vios is a sedan, while coolray is a subcompact crossover. But based from tech introduced on 2023 vios, might be a good comparo. But I assure you that in terms of power, coolray is the clear winner 😆

A 2 year old, low mileage Coolray sport is selling for around 900k so your comment is absolutely wrong. Show me another car that only drops 25% after 2 years.

Ang mahirap kasi sa Geely is that practically ALL of the coolrays they have sold are still within free PMS kaya it’s easy to still keep the cars checked and the reliability perception feels like on par with Japanese vehicles. After the PMS expires diyan usually susugod sa talyer yung mga gustong maktipid, or napapabayaan na kadalasan.
Almost all CASA naman mabagal sa parts kasi daming document and legalities bago ma move ang piyesa even from local warehouse lang sya manggaling. Toyotas parts availability is not about GREAT CASA but about almost all Autoshop/TALYER e merong parts kasi marami sa toyota vehicles e gamit sa Public (taxi/PUV/delivery/etc)
Pano yung target market mga Jologs na gusto naging Ricer. Mabilis dahil malamang sa turbo pero bagito o di marunong magmaneho karamihan ng may gusto nyan. Non car guys na bano kaya nagkalat mga nag aantay ng parts.

The head unit is very capable of those apps through modifications. Its just a copyright/manufacturers partnership that dont let them use those apps by default.

9-11 km/l sa mga mpv. Malakas pala sa gas itong crossover na to. Ginto pa naman gas ngayon.

They did change it to a 'T' bar type in the 1st facelift model but nobody liked it so they went back to the original.

I really want this car but i am really afraid that i like other car brands which is not as popular as the other brands. I would have problem in finding spare parts. I had this issue with my hyundai car and same for ford. How does this car brand fair on their spare parts availability on the market? In the event i need part replacements? To all the geely owners out there hopefully you could bring light to my question regarding the spare parts and modification availability. Thank you. Hope you respect my questions.

Fuel consumption ain’t that bad for a 1.5 Turbo with 177hp and 255Nm of torque. My 2.0 Mazda 3 is a tad worse in terms of fuel consumption with a slightly less power and torque than the Coolray.

For some reason the variant here na review although its new SE sport but the shifter knob is still the old one.. mine kasi bago na same variant SE Sport but I prefer the old one because it has the light gear indicator. So many of my family was so confused and had to teach them to look in the dash instead, to know what gear they are. Whats reason na old shift knob pa din itong na review? Did they changed it?

I think vios has a different market from coolray since vios is a sedan, while coolray is a subcompact crossover. But based from tech introduced on 2023 vios, might be a good comparo. But I assure you that in terms of power, coolray is the clear winner 😆

Modifications can be done. The head unit is big (10+inches) is very responsive (good specs).

A 2 year old, low mileage Coolray sport is selling for around 900k so your comment is absolutely wrong. Show me another car that only drops 25% after 2 years.
Listed price vs actual sold price is different. Could be listed at 900k but no one bought or someone bought it but negotiated at a much lower rate.
@@chinarider5569 exactly my thoughts din. Resellers typically overbloat the prices with the tech justification but the price still feels expensive. Ang mahirap kasi sa Geely is that practically ALL of the coolrays they have sold are still within free PMS kaya it’s easy to still keep the cars checked and the reliability perception feels like on par with Japanese vehicles. After the PMS expires diyan usually susugod sa talyer yung mga gustong maktipid, or napapabayaan na kadalasan.
Medyo 5 years narin ata Geely sa PH. Kaya na ba ayusin ng mga talyer o third-party shops? O kailangan sa casa parin talaga?
Geely still has a supply problem though. Potential buyers should also factor that into their purchase decision.

Almost all CASA naman mabagal sa parts kasi daming document and legalities bago ma move ang piyesa even from local warehouse lang sya manggaling. Toyotas parts availability is not about GREAT CASA but about almost all Autoshop/TALYER e merong parts kasi marami sa toyota vehicles e gamit sa Public (taxi/PUV/delivery/etc)

Too "Rice" looking with all the red accents. I still prefer the more mature and simple looking pre facelift model.
Pano yung target market mga Jologs na gusto naging Ricer. Mabilis dahil malamang sa turbo pero bagito o di marunong magmaneho karamihan ng may gusto nyan. Non car guys na bano kaya nagkalat mga nag aantay ng parts.

The head unit is very capable of those apps through modifications. Its just a copyright/manufacturers partnership that dont let them use those apps by default.
