I just want to correct a few things from the video first. 1. They fixed you not getting healed when going into an Arena match - you get full healed now. 2. If you level up the wrong skill you have skill transfer books which they give you for free like 25 of them, to swap the levels of a skill to another one. 3. Leveling 1-50 does not take 35hrs. You can easily do it in 10hrs and even less while doing all side quests. You also did not mention you can get premium currency with doing in-game stuff and selling on the AH, meaning you can buy skins and Battlepass without paying real money. I think if you don't care for the PVP that much it's a solid 8.5/10 game. If you care about PVP and you aren't a whale it's a 5/10.
+ people still dont understand that this game, at least in t1, is definately not p2w. Its p2befirst at most, since all you can do with lucent is buying items that f2p players can obtain 2-3 weeks after for basically free...all the whales did was buying items for 3k+ lucent that 3 weeks after cost 300 lucent...its just so stupid to call this game a p2w. People always come up with examples such as new world, since it "doesnt have p2w"...oh wait, RMT is a big thing there and most pvp players just buy their gold from third party websites without ever getting punished. And even the Archboss weapons: ok they are harder and more expensive to obtain, and many f2p players might never get a chance to play them, but they are mostly not that far superior to other normal t1 weapons. Yea, they are an upgrade most of the time, but not so much to actually quit a game solely for that reason
@@r3load403 there definitely needs to be a distinction between what you called p2befirst & p2w. I personally think p2bf is a good compromise since f2p peeps can get exactly the same gear with some grinding. p2w for me means you can buy stuff that you can't get from playing for free, or that the grind is ludicrously long such that you basically can't get it ever. I've not spent any money on T&L as I'm just a casual player, but I actually like the direct option is there should I want to progress faster by spending some money. It means I can play with everyone else if I want to, rather than being completely trapped miles behind as a casual player. In fact, I'd probably have given up by now if there wasn't that option dangling in front of me keeping me telling myself that I _could_ catch up any time if I wanted to, rather than feeling like I can never catch up.
The game is a true grind it has its flaws, but it's extremely early, and the developers actually listen to the community it will get much, much better over time
ya the hopium is justified especially since they re-vamped their combat system at launch when everyone was exposing how the garbage the original combat system was.
Idk I think this is the best mmo on console right now. It has room for improvement but we can not overlook how well this game plays. Recovery would be easy for such a well made mmo.
GW2 does an excellent job in hybrid action/tab targeting, and personally has the best overall combat in any mmo right now that lets you dodge, block, sprint, stun break, CC, etc (BDO has excellent combat but is strictly action and pvp is usually lop sided and always favors the player with the first grapple and with the highest gearscore/crystals/buffs)
Reminds me of warframe which is also free to play. ALOT of players sell items to get premium currency and use that to buy whatever they want. Everyone loves to gush about WF but it probably gets a pass due to no one caring about its pvp at all.
Man people saying this p2w is literally just trying find something complaining about yes it have a pay element but man this game is no where as near predatory as other p2w game and im genuine enjoy this game besides it issues. Ppl only hate this game because everyone else does, ppl dont play game for themselves anymore, if they see video of people hating this game they will fall into that crowd with them, with no valid reason.
@@jesseparra1988 Official L2 nowadays is a trash. But saying that TnL isn't p2w is like pretending that the problem doesn't exist. You can literally buy everything for the real money. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the game by myself, but it is what it is.
@@przemczan12361 you cant buy almost nothing with lucent. Runes, Growthstones, Skillbooks, Trait Unlockstones (convertionstones, extractionstones) etc. are all not obtainable with lucent and are crucial for your build to work out...but since people then have no reason to complain, they start to complain about the game being to grindy. So what do people want? An MMORPG, that has no real money transactions, but also does only take you 1 month to have BiS Gear and therefor quit because there's a lack of content? do people use their brain?
problem for me that was the reason to leave was the healing changes. I wish mmos like this would add more support classes. Tired of the hundreds of pvp options
I don't call 58,904 24-hour peak as dead and 36th highest population on steam. Is it less than launch, of course every MMO decreases more than half it's population after launch. Bad take man.
This MMO has absolutely the weakest social aspect ever. U would think u were playing a single player offline game. Nobody even talks to each other in towns and in group dungeons. Outside of the world chat, I really have to go out of my way to initiate conversations with any few players I come across and most of them dont even say anything. I joined a guild & it’s basically empty with few players online and all I talk to is the guild leader and some of his guild officers thru their discord server.
@ and then wats worse is how ppl leave the dungeon so quickly or kick players out of the dungeon group they r new to learning mechanics. I havent experienced this yet cuz im still new to the game but i hear there is some awfully toxic egotistical elitism already taking over the endgame experience and gatekeeping it in a way. Very disappointing to see this happen to a MMO’s community.
@@catspiracytheorist2138 So all doin their random dailys should take up to 2hours to clean a dungeon instead of 10min with the right ppl? I don't know what's more antisocial expecting everyone to wait till someone learns the dungeon from scratch instead of just watching a guide before queue random coop or simply kicking someone.
You are missing a whole topic: the anti social behaviour that is encouraged. I was pk-ed during the grind at level 32 at the freaking quest hub. And that was the game for me. I do not want to play a game where the endgame consists of keeping others from reaching the endgame. Isn't Amazon smarter than releasing a seal clubber's wet dream? And from what I have heared, that is only the beginning. Guilds can take away your loot, they lure you in with the promise of lucent, only to kick you when you are eligible to receive and ask to be paid. Higher ranking guild members stealing items. So what is this? EVE Online, just not in space? And what about all the freaking bugs? The game is out for 1 year in Korea now. How the heck could the whale still not spawn correctly for like a week? 3 sieges so far, and all have been an exploit festival from what I watched. Glitching through floors, jumping golems, access to areas you shouldn't have,.... Amazon knows, yet they choose not to punish. It is not RMT after all. And the whole clown fiesta that is guild pvp, e.g. giga alliances by using the feud mechanic.
@@allthatishere Also to a lesser extent, ESO. Once you get end game gear in ESO it will always be viable as the gear score is never increased. But unlike GW2 they do increase vertical progression slightly over time.
Combat and movement feels average at best. And too much focus on large scale open world group pvp content. Played for few days at launch and I'm pretty sure that will never come back to it unless there are groundshaking changes.
The ridiculous number of currencies and stupid skill system was what made me leave. Microtransactions up the arse too... Just not something I am going to devote my precious free time on. Deltia, you are having bad luck with the Wayfinders and T&L not succeeding. Hopefully you can find a successful game to do content for. You do good stuff.
I agree, I'm disappointed with this game too. I expected more from NCSoft, especially after Lineage 2, with its great skills, classes, and PvP that were far better than in Throne and Liberty. I don’t like how you always get stuck in textures when using hooks or small rocks can stock you for 5 seconds. The balance in PvP is broken, even after a couple of patches.
I don't really agree with this video at all, most of them are pointless because this game is this game, the most we could compare anything out of this game is its contents.. That being said.. let me get straight to the point as a 5.5k player from ncsoft... Steam TNL is so twisted. Amazon is milking all of u way too hard, and all of u I mean p2w players.. All the items that u guys are trying so hard to get as a p2w or f2p right now are super useless, they are worth nothing, except for a few weap.. Let me just put it this way, except for archboss items and crafting items, and some world boss items, basically everything else is cheap af.. u want to max out ur epic 2 purple? Less than 2k lucent.. u want to get some lithography item that u think u will never get? Cheap af.. Seriously.. another way to look at it is that p2w players in ncsoft, are spending so they can get to 6k or more. Anything below that for full trait epic2 u can get it in 3months just by playing normal daily.. and u can do ALL CONTENTS as a f2p and actually enjoy as u progress because if u think u need that trait unlock? Hey it's not ex. It's like 10lucent for range evasion lol. What about max health? Just 25lucent. What about attack speed on weap? Just 100lucent lol
I’ve been playing for about a month; My biggest issue with the game is that it does a horrible job explaining boss mechanics. When you have to do “research” to figure out how to beat bosses, it automatically creates a system of aholes bashing newer players, who then just leave the game as no one comes to a game to be harassed. PvP is impossible as a newer player who can’t hope to catch up to players who had early access. This creates a caste system if players, dividing the player base, and kills the game. Every progression in the game overly convoluted, a turn off for newer players. Time gated content is lame too. No one has this kind of time to invest anymore in video games. Overall good take on a lot if the issues.
The game isnt dead but dying. Things they did wrong - Allowed Pvpers to stop people from going after end game bosses by standing in the way when the portals should have been there a while ago to stop this - the Toxic people who became kick happy once they were allowed to kick and most people were kicking people like it was a fucking achievement!! - The toxic players that would talk down to players that didnt pay to power level or didnt cheat their way to the top or when 2 stars came out would kick you if you didnt have 3k power lvl, you had blues or you blocked your characters gear / if you didn't have a setuo rotation that they considered meta - pvpers with cheating mods that there are TH-cam videos showing that if you clicked stun on a player theirs would autocounter it and stun you after counter blocking (if you need a mod to cheat you are a micro penis virgin "Facts") - lack of more story / i mean you could become 50 in 5 days (it took months for other games) (this was a bad idea) In 1 month, I comepleted every story sidequest. Wow has YEARS of story, lore, side quests, RAIDS, dungeons, etc etc But the major thing was Toxic Elitist gamers who thought they knew it all and would talk down to everyone. This should have be curved quickly on the forums and games, but they did NOTHING!!
The toxic egotistical elitism is perhaps BIGGEST issue in the social aspect of MMOs. Sad to see that Throne has it to the max. I am still new to the game and no looking forward to the endgame elitists’ toxicity.
TnL doing well and improving all the time based on player feedback. It's not dead like ESO is. ESO is full maintenance mode and already a walking dead game.
I personally believe in the game's potential but I feel the developers need to take your feedback and even a few more suggestions so they can rework the game. They should rework the game. Keep the character creation, keep the weapon's determining your class, even keep the skills but rework everything else. I rather run faster, have a full 360 roll dodge capability, and mounts to ride instead of morphing. Give us i-frames. And after the rework have everything saved for the people that invested a significant amount of hour's into the game so we don't miss out on our progression.
I enjoyed my 30ish hours before the time gating and guild focused endgame killed my enjoyment. It's a fun game for sure but performance issues and end game design turned me away from it. Maybe I will check it out again if there are improvements in the future.
Main issues are imo: - Combat animations still suck, there's still way too much desync as well - It went from daily tasks to daily chores, there's too much stuff to do now after 2 start dungeons and contracts feel way too repetitive and boring - It's just another gear treadmill MMO, once you reach a certain GS there's no much to do but wait till the next GS increase Btw a quick counterpoint to your "hybrid doesn't work". Gw2 has one of the bests, if not the best, combat system in any MMO imo, and that's pretty much an action/tab target hybrid. The problem with TL is the targeting sucks, the animation transitions suck and there's way too much desync.
Mega alliances are the biggest issue. When 9 of the top 10 guilds are working together to keep 1 guild out of castle it really ruins the integrity of the game. 4 of the top 5 guilds on my server are basically all just 1 massive guild full of scripters. In their guild messages it has a link to download the pvp block script. Any and all integrity this game has is non-existent. It had so much promise but after 2 months it just became a unnecessary full time job with convoluted systems designed to gatekeep loot and the power gap just grows wider the more you gatekeep the best gear in the game. PvP is flooded with block scripts, auto aim hacks, health exploits, players completely immune to damage, and after all that you finally get to weapon imbalance. Its not worth the time invested
Combat is ok, it does a few things different, storytelling is amazing, they even narrate the story while running to next quest, story is good/cinematics/visuals zones. BUUUTTT you realize straight away that it has an purposely created EXTREME grind to frustrate you and just P2W. Toxic, unethical game design probably corporatism entering firing the lead dev and monetizing. NEW WORLDS road map for 2025 looks fire questing in New world is really fun now.
Real mmo vets love the grind. If something new comes in they dont frustrate me. They motivate. The p2p = pay to progress faster is for lazy people who want to be endgame but not put in the effort. Im making around 700 to a 1000 lucent each week with dropped items i dont need. I sell them and with the profit buy myself the battlepass and buy traits for my build. Easy does it. Grinding pays. And it makes you master on how to use your abilities 2 the fullest. Faster then if you wouldnt do that. And im talking about the real mmo skill not ingame character.
As first this is Korea MMO launched to world, dont expect ESO or WOW style on korea MMO. Second if you have problems with targeting just open options and use auto snap XD. For the last grind is always wins on MMO, this is the core.
....what's with the obsession with getting to the end game PVP/PVE content? Honestly, that wasn't the fun part for me at all. I enjoyed the campaign, and I enjoy the group dungeon trawling, and I enjoy the various timed events. Mind you, I haven't played an actual MMORPG since City of Heroes, and I guess Diablo III, if that counts. I spent $10, one time, on a battle pass. After hitting level 50, you can make plenty of lucent for each new battle pass, a few cosmetics, and various other items, just by selling the epic level drops you find as you play. This guy is also completely ignoring the instanced dungeons and boss fights (Dimensional Dungeons) that have almost all the good gear. Anyway, I disagree with a lot of what he's said. But then, I don't enjoy all his favorite games, so different strokes...
not anymore in fact both devs working together behind the scenes and u can see that in recent expansions for both games and the weapon ''Spear''. Also NCsoft is making Guild Wars 3 now
Shitty review with misleading information. Many issues stated in the video were already addressed and fixed. Amazon and NCSoft have been communicating and addressing player’s feedbacks very well. The dev also said they are working on improving the movements. This guy makes a review video with minimal knowledge of the game and the mmo genre lmao. The purposes are clearly to shit on the game, find sympathy and drive people out of the game with his narrow perspective of the game.
I just made a similar comment to the guy. Like wtf he doesnt know how to cast aoe without a target? He didnt went into optuons and selected free target option. He doesnt know shit about the game. And hes bashing it. If someone who hasnt played yet sees this he will never give the game a honest chance. Cant heal people outside ur party? Duh u cant. Cannot select partymembers hard to click them? Edit ur hud and place party window near char on screen and just click in that list to select. This is so unfair bashing a game without even the basic knowledge of the game
@@RobinvanOudheusden-h1x I don't play it. The game has lost like 80% of the player base and I doubt the ones that stay will be enough to make the game financially viable.
The fact that to get any enjoyment in endgame .. true endgame is that you must become hardcore and be in the top 10 guilds basically log in at required time and do pvp events lol or good luck you will get booted if you don’t play for a week 😂
Screw the haters. I'm a ESO player of 9 years and love T&L. I enjoy the hybrid combat and the story was good enough to stay engaged. The flexibility of making a build is also done well. Had no issues with the movement while in combat at all. Zero. The world is gorgeous and fun to explore. Love the vertically of the world and flying/floating system. The upgrading system is extremely easy to learn and have yet run into a grind that is anywhere close to countless other grinds in games these days. This is my opinion from a mostly casual and non-pvp player thats paid zero money into the game. To say T&L pay to win? It's as pay to win as Warframe. You can buy all the power with zero wait. So if your a pvp player, sure, stay away maybe. If you are a pve player, I say give a play. Is it perfect? Heck no. Yet it's far and beyond better than the majority of the other mmo offerings that have died already or been on life support for years. Deltia, my brother, I'm not sure where you are going with new world numbers. It's died off wayyyyyyyy harder. Once you beat the game, there really isn't much left to do. It's end game has been a complaint since launch. It's player base right now is a fraction of its player base. 14k currently on steam as I'm typing. I wouldn't use it as an example of a healthy or well done experience game is all.
Samesies, I enjoyed ESO for a few years (PvE only) & I'm enjoying T&L PvE as well. I'd actually say the p2w balance is really good for a PvE player, since you can earn Lucent by playing or by buying, & it's bloody expensive to buy compared to the time it takes to earn it so that feels like a nice balance to me. I'm not sure how long I'll stick with it, but I'm still having fun with it.
Tired of P2W games. I prefer to pay to play games I want to play. At its core, TNL is pretty good...but the cash grab is a turn off in today's video game market.
@@abdelrahmanrad if a game allows gamers to buy in-game currency with real money to buy weapons, it is the sterotype of P2W. TNL may not be as bad as others, but a non-P2W game means gamers have to grind everything, beat the big bosses and hope for the the RNG drop.
Played through the MSQ and hit level cap, never once was compelled to spent a cent. Where's the p2w? Btw your definition of P2W means literally every MMO is P2w as there's always a cash shop where you can buy in game currency to buy gear in game. Name me one MMO that doesn't let you do that, I'll wait.
@@Btechdom Sure -- here's two: 1) New World and 2) Path of Exile 2. Gamers can buy all sort of cosmetics, pets and other visual trinkets, but gamers are not allowed to buy any weapons.
Hello! For me being GM of my own Guild level 30, with 40 active players and a combat level of 4300, I love the game but knowing that the focus of it is more PVP when doing large-scale combats there are too many people using scripts like: Autoparry, Autotarget, people throwing skills at you while transformed into an otter or a bird (which is not possible but the scripts allow it) NCS0FT has known about this for a long time, every time someone uploads a video or a post on reddit about this topic the company reports it and they take down the video or the post, all to hide this huge problem that the game has due to its terrible ANTICHEAT system. Being an honest player since the moment of launch, this demotivates me and my guild seeing how everyone uses scripts, brags about it and nothing happens to them... in my opinion this game is destined to fail if they don't take action on the matter, in the end only the SCRIPTERS and the PVE HARDCORE players will be left to make content.
The grind has actually started to get to me Runes have my head spinning omfg.... If they allowed us to use multiple coins at once that would help a lot and get to more PVP rolling
It’s NCSoft, they have a track record of eventually having games full of bots and pay 2 win. Nothing new, just the same cycle over and over again. You may like the game and enjoy it, but it’s for sure declining in population everyday.
I put maybe 2 hours into it and it looked beautiful, I think the systems and MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER part of MMO just wasn't there for me. Guild Wars 2 still makes me feel like I'm in a real world with thousands of other people.
This maybe bc I’m used to playing dead games but, I’m totally clueless in mass PvP, this is the only game where I’m fighting 60 ppl at a time, I’m used to 5v5 or 10v10 at most but holy too much ppl on screen I can barely concentrate and when I do get someone, I die before I can finish my kill bc of long range attackers
The Monetization no longer works for western audiences. Most of my friends hate (HATE) grinding for materials to upgrade gear instead of grinding for gear with specific rolls. and it's the exact opposite for a few of my friends that love that model, but the gap is growing even for the eastern audience. T&L is doing too much and trying to appease too many audiences along with their investors. Can't please everyone so it will fail
@@dayoftherope1690 except you don't play "casually", you're forgetting most adults who have a job and responsibilities, don't have 5 hours to drop on a game every single day like you do.
It has a lot to do, with who they ask about their games in development. Unfortunately streamers have become the go to for what gamers "want." Disregarding that streamers only care about what people watch not the actual structure of games. It's a terrible way to make a game. No one wants a second or third job, we play video games to escape the world and enter another one. I want to find Excalibur, I don't want to build it.
I played for 120 hours to give it a shot and there were three main issues I had. 1. The instanced dungeons sucked. The reliance on wipe mechanics and not being able to help down players made the experience toxic. You can't go from ESO to T&L and be happy with the dungeons. The community really turned on itself over the dungeons. 2. The game would be a job. You'd have to log 80 hours a week to be in the top tier guilds. No casuals allowed because you drag down the guild's rank. 3. Only a small sliver of the population will get EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING! YES EVERYTHING! and all the other players might as well not play.
the grind was awful... All that shit no one wanted to do in WoW is the exact thing you are required to do in TnL to end game gear and they were promising a level increase was imminent. HOLY FUCK NO
@@ronniepaulinc dude im a f2p player playing casually 2 months. Im all epic very far on traits and got blue rune synergy. GS 3630. What grind mate? Your doing smth wrong
doing story and getting lvl 50 is only 5-10h it can even be done in 3h actualy but that more kr harcore stuff xD. so that arguement is bs. you can just run the side quests etc the recommends to gain the lvl for next main quest. i had no issues with this on my alt. game is very f2p friendly too. you can just grind your gear for free.. unlijke some other games. you can either swipe to save time and get bored or actualy play the game.
I don't know where to stand with p2w in games, 1st off grinding all day to get top gear is fun, but working all day to get top gear may not be the most fun but it's to have fun on equal footing, some may abuse this system which sucks but not everyone does, remove the p2w from the pvp somehow like a dueling system that will equalise the gear during pvp, but other than that "the player always pay for power, be it with time or money the player will pay"
Let's see! 🤔. So the options are: Do i play a new mmo game (TaL), a game that is basically half baked, or do i go to an old mmo game (10-20 years old) and get destroyed by veterans. 🤔🤔🤔
I haven't played in a few days, and don't know if I will again. But it's really not a "pay to win" it's more a "pay to get ahead temporarily". My main is over 4100 gs without spending a dime... But yes mega alliances killed the game.
Considering I got the best items possible in 2 months of playing, without spending anything, I wouldn't say the P2W aspect of this game is worth complaining about. Plus there are no "item loss mechanics" when you're trying to upgrade. Imagine if upgrading a trait using purple items wasn't a guaranteed success. Or it required the use of a time-gated item that you could conveniently buy from the auction house. This is what you have in Lost Ark, and that's why Lost Ark is a lot worse in terms of P2W mechanics. The biggest issue with T&L for me is there isn't much to do once you're finished gearing, other than PvP. Except the PvP in this game is garbage. It places too much emphasis on crowd-control, and because of that, PvP gets dumbed down to who is able to stun the other player first. This just isn't fun. Then there's open-world PvP, which is all about who has more numbers. One thing that amazes me is how they haven't introduced a 1v1 mode in arena. It's what kept Blade & Soul alive for a ton of players, and yet here you have T&L, FROM THE SAME EXACT PUBLISHERS, not realizing that a 1v1 arena mode would be a huge success with a lot of players. So many people hang out in the open-world dungeons at night with the hopes of finding someone they can 1v1. It's honestly baffling and infuriating.
Another issue is the reward system solo and with guilds, if you are in a incredible guild and you put in allot of work during boss raids and you aren't as high in lvl then obviously they have a better chance of obtaining boss gear than you especially if they are paying to win also if you are in a guild with a reward system that will never favor you then you will never get the great weapons that will benefit you for pvp against large number of people who already obtained it also if you chose gs dagger instead of staff wand, or staff long bow then your chances of good drops are 0 even if you have all traits because they can stand back out of harms way and just spam long ranged attacks....smh, if I would have known in the beginning I would have started with long range, spammed my ass off until I received the desired gear then change but playing with up close based weapons are way difficult
Great video. As a 5 year ESO veteran I found this game to be really fun and refreshing when it first came out. It got stale pretty quick though after playing for a few weeks. The time gated content is ridiculous and I could never really get on board with the weird combat systems. I ended up switching over to New World when it was released on xbox and I haven't looked back. It was just a better fit for me I guess.
The game is poorly balanced and the pay to win while expensive is still excessive pay to win. The killing blow for me is when they left the server transfers fully open for mass transfers which lead to a massive discord clan taking over our low pop server. It ruined tax collection and I was done after that not worth the headache for no reward. The trait system was also just a pain to deal with and I put up with that because the other parts were fun. The game is not about adventure it's just a spread sheet with a checklist and the only thing that matters is how efficient you are. You also can't get any new players because the moment they make a mistake someone quits a dungeon and everything falls apart. Anyone still playing this is either a lizard brain doing weeklies for their Pavlovian dopamine hit or someone who cannot afford the early access to or is waiting for the full release of path of exile 2. Without sounding mean this game will wind up being a Toxic containment zone for kids and ESL third worlders like other free to play mmo's. When Dune comes out that is where everyone will get their eve like pvp fix and anyone who is still playing this trash fire will be doing so because of a mix of the sunken cost fallacy and Stockholm syndrome.
I'm over 1000 hours in it's not completely dead however very time costly really hard to pvp without a huge group doing the same tasks over and over will get boring really quickly for most especially when you turn up to the 100th world boss and get nothing or que random dungeons only to get blue loot drops.
Uninstalled after 5 hours, its 2024 why give me this crap unfun combat. 90% of my time in mmo i will be doing grinding, if 90% of my playtime wont be fun there is no point.
All that I heard is not true. You dont need to p2w, of course will take longer, but definitely not like other games . The market is actually great because you can earn your money and buy stuff, even batlepass . Yes, there are bugs, but the game is only 3 months out.. What I think is that your video wants to just put this game down because there is so many other games like POE , Diablo 4 etc...and this game is one of the best PVP mmo on the market. I agree with the guild system thats bad
I only agree 70% of this person take on the game. I've been playing this game in the beta phase and release. So the first point heavy on monetization. in the video you made it sound like there's no other way to buy cosmetic or battle pass in the game. That you have to buy with real money. But actually this games have plenty of options for you to get the pay currency by just playing the things that you want of course there is pay to win because mostly 80% of MMOs have that sort of type of system. And when it comes to no life guild/player. That's an issue that any PVP base MMO will face regardless. The same thing that happened even with Black Desert too. Is going to happen in any PVP oriented MMO. Any surprising for me in this video for someone like yourself to be complaining something about that is common at this point in MMO. PLUS you saying that that you cannot be a known life in a game so you can be competitive in a PVP base MMO and the people who cannot put the same amount of hours will always fall short in that aspect. Again I'm pretty sure if someone pay to win or put a lot of amount of hours to get what they needed for their gear and a PVP MMO to keep emphasizing it I'm pretty sure you got to get stumped regardless because I don't think any other MMO that has PVP will reward a player that is casually playing and expect to have the same results like the person who put more than 3K of hours or pay to win. Lastly I don't think it's a fair to put certain standards of different MMOs what they have and they don't have and keep comparing it because one MMO have one thing and the other doesn't. And the way how you worded in that video. It's like if I were to take this example. Elder Scroll Online combat and fluidity it's not like Black Desert online. There's a lot of MMOs the offer better things than other that's for sure but we cannot just expect same standard or expectation with different MMOs and apply them on a new one.
nothing happened. literally mmo of the era. we just got started lol wait for that massive expansion update. this game will die only when GW3 drops in 5 years.
Absolute true there so many stuff need get changed for me no battlegrounds like capture the flag (war games is the same zergling bullshit like every pvp in this game beside arena) its a cc mess with Aoe garbadge you play longbow or tank thats basicly it. Chest from open world bosses are a myth
I like the game but at least for me the story was trash and short ot felt it was made in a rush. The other part you always need people to be able to complete missions and season events which is annoying because then if people aren't playing you are screw. And the content is very little. I have paly other grinding games that are good but this one has lots of flaws so and gets boring to fast. I thought it was going to be better.
Dude ur video has some big flaws. U can use aoe without a target. Go into options target tab. U can select partyembers to heal click on name partylist. U can deselecr targets with x and ctrl x . U got some good points but u also clearlt havent fully have the understanding on a lot if basic game components. And id youre right youre right but things that are not an issue whilst u telling they are..... those are destroying playerbase. Cause if someone watches this and takes everything at heart he wont give the game a chance... i mean dont get me wrong good vid u only got like 4 to 5 points totally wrong.
Calling a 28k active player AT THE MINIMUM a dead game is straight up crazy. This is either a bad take video or youre looking for reaction from people who actually play the game. also people need to accept that p2w is just part of the mmorpg genre now. all the new games in this genre coming out soon will have some type of micro transaction, it is now just a matter of how fast does the game allow f2p players to catch up to p2w. i'd call TnL pay for convenience instead of p2w since most f2p players have caught up to p2w players after 2 months
I miss Ultima Online pub 16s mechanic design. Never seen it since the late 90s early 2000. Wow clones or anything even close to it. Gear grind. Etc.... immediate MMO death these days.
Such a biased review. As a real MMORPG player, this game was top notch. Yes, it's far from perfect but coming from past MMORPG games, this is much better.
Exactly how I feel.
This is a perfect comment, totally agree on all points!
Biggest issue for me is the amount of block scripts being used in pvp..
For me it’s the worst class balancing to ever grace the mmo genre

ya the hopium is justified especially since they re-vamped their combat system at launch when everyone was exposing how the garbage the original combat system was.
Guild Wars 2 has hybrid tab target/action combat and it works very well.
The main problem with this game is there isn't enough loot to feel like a mmo and then end game is only pvp
the expansion in Korea introduced so much loot that you can't even stick to 1 build anymore and it's getting overwhelming there lol
Idk I think this is the best mmo on console right now. It has room for improvement but we can not overlook how well this game plays. Recovery would be easy for such a well made mmo.
Game doesn’t even play well on console
GW2 does an excellent job in hybrid action/tab targeting, and personally has the best overall combat in any mmo right now that lets you dodge, block, sprint, stun break, CC, etc (BDO has excellent combat but is strictly action and pvp is usually lop sided and always favors the player with the first grapple and with the highest gearscore/crystals/buffs)
gw2 large scale pvp in wvw where any1 can jump in and take part is miles and beyond anything T&L can offer.
This game is way less P2W than something like ESO .. you can literally make money for battlepass by selling items in game
Ppl only hate this game because everyone else does, ppl dont play game for themselves anymore, if they see video of people hating this game they will fall into that crowd with them, with no valid reason.
comming from Oficial Lineage 2 servers I can say that this is not pay to win.
@@jesseparra1988 Official L2 nowadays is a trash. But saying that TnL isn't p2w is like pretending that the problem doesn't exist. You can literally buy everything for the real money. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the game by myself, but it is what it is.
Just because TnL is “less” p2w than some other game doesn’t mean TnL “isn’t p2w at all”. Less shitty than something else is still shitty.

So what do people want? An MMORPG, that has no real money transactions, but also does only take you 1 month to have BiS Gear and therefor quit because there's a lack of content? do people use their brain?

I wish mmos like this would add more support classes. Tired of the hundreds of pvp options
I don't call 58,904 24-hour peak as dead and 36th highest population on steam. Is it less than launch, of course every MMO decreases more than half it's population after launch. Bad take man.

its literally going down 50k in peak every month
Huffing pure columbian copium. Its dead.
ITS DEAD
Yeah it's definitely dead
Best Loot based on damage.. don't get me started on guilds.. smh
Facts
@ and then wats worse is how ppl leave the dungeon so quickly or kick players out of the dungeon group they r new to learning mechanics. I havent experienced this yet cuz im still new to the game but i hear there is some awfully toxic egotistical elitism already taking over the endgame experience and gatekeeping it in a way. Very disappointing to see this happen to a MMO’s community.
I’ve experienced this in ESO on and off for years which Deltia champions.
@ very true but at least ESO has a built in voice chat. Throne does not.
The power progression system feels like a hamster wheel
Isn't that all MMOs, tho?
@@allthatishereNot Guild Wars 2
@@australienski6687 Well, yeah. Guild Wars 1 and 2 are some of the few exceptions, seeing as they focus on horizontal progression.
Performance wise it’s pretty bad on ps5 & the loot drop rate is a crime. But the game is not bad but not worth to spend money on.
Good thing it’s free and you can play completely f2p 🥸
Combat n gameplay, i dont want to turn to an animal just to sprint, combat is boring this is not 2004 its 2024
I don't really agree with this video at all, most of them are pointless because this game is this game, the most we could compare anything out of this game is its contents..
I hate the stat system… 1 stat to rule them all!
If you want PVP, a good guild will help its newbie players gear up for it.

The game isnt dead but dying. Things they did wrong
- Allowed Pvpers to stop people from going after end game bosses by standing in the way when the portals should have been there a while ago to stop this
- the Toxic people who became kick happy once they were allowed to kick and most people were kicking people like it was a fucking achievement!!
- The toxic players that would talk down to players that didnt pay to power level or didnt cheat their way to the top or when 2 stars came out would kick you if you didnt have 3k power lvl, you had blues or you blocked your characters gear / if you didn't have a setuo rotation that they considered meta
- pvpers with cheating mods that there are TH-cam videos showing that if you clicked stun on a player theirs would autocounter it and stun you after counter blocking (if you need a mod to cheat you are a micro penis virgin "Facts")
- lack of more story / i mean you could become 50 in 5 days (it took months for other games) (this was a bad idea) In 1 month, I comepleted every story sidequest. Wow has YEARS of story, lore, side quests, RAIDS, dungeons, etc etc
But the major thing was Toxic Elitist gamers who thought they knew it all and would talk down to everyone. This should have be curved quickly on the forums and games, but they did NOTHING!!
The toxic egotistical elitism is perhaps BIGGEST issue in the social aspect of MMOs. Sad to see that Throne has it to the max. I am still new to the game and no looking forward to the endgame elitists’ toxicity.
aslong as the dev can make fixes fast it should survive. but if they don't its going to that massive mmo graveyard.
Whole video is paid propaganda lol
Especially after you made a eso puff piece
the problem of this game is target system..
TnL doing well and improving all the time based on player feedback. It's not dead like ESO is. ESO is full maintenance mode and already a walking dead game.
The game has its issues but this felt more like a “hit piece” than a game review 😂
I'm still playing the shit outa this
spent 300 hours in the first 2 months and 300/400 euros, but it dindt met my expectations so i take my money and time elsewhere
This is a bad take, throne will survival because people are already predicting its downfall. U can legit sell stuff and make money urself lmao
Reading this gave me brain damage
I enjoyed my 30ish hours before the time gating and guild focused endgame killed my enjoyment. It's a fun game for sure but performance issues and end game design turned me away from it. Maybe I will check it out again if there are improvements in the future.
Main issues are imo:
- Combat animations still suck, there's still way too much desync as well
- It went from daily tasks to daily chores, there's too much stuff to do now after 2 start dungeons and contracts feel way too repetitive and boring
- It's just another gear treadmill MMO, once you reach a certain GS there's no much to do but wait till the next GS increase
Btw a quick counterpoint to your "hybrid doesn't work".
Don’t you love Zerg flash wave spam?
Yep, you are spot on.
For the last grind is always wins on MMO, this is the core.
and for use money to buy items, THIS IS STILL KOREA MMO but we are in better situation. We have a minimal part of what is on korea servers
I DL'd it two months ago and keep it updated but still haven't made a character yet. I suspected something weird like no jump.

This is a strange take. I have the opposite opinion on almost everything he said.
Depends what u play, if u play with a good guild/alliance for open world pvp its dope, for casuals its prob not
....what's with the obsession with getting to the end game PVP/PVE content?

Yea this video is dumb like most of his videos no knowledge of the game probably played 2 weeks listen to ppl and made a video lol
Duh u cant.
Lets talk about the abysmal jank of controller on PS and Xbox

It's not dead but it has problems. So does every mmo. Go play apex or something you cant get a perfect mmo

Are the guilds bigger? And they have the ability to take your drops?
You are very negative in your view of a good game.

IT has the same problem Black Myth Wukong and Skull and Bones had, the bosses are to hard and in S and B's case it's pvp.
HOLY FUCK NO

doing story and getting lvl 50 is only 5-10h it can even be done in 3h actualy but that more kr harcore stuff xD. so that arguement is bs. you can just run the side quests etc the recommends to gain the lvl for next main quest. i had no issues with this on my alt. game is very f2p friendly too. you can just grind your gear for free.. unlijke some other games. you can either swipe to save time and get bored or actualy play the game.
Not Death at all. Game it's alot of fun just don't grind like it's your second job.
POE2 happened…
Great video man! I've been wondering what was going on with T&L, Thanks for sharing.
What went wrong? People have choices.
I'm over 1000 hours in it's not completely dead however very time costly really hard to pvp without a huge group doing the same tasks over and over will get boring really quickly for most especially when you turn up to the 100th world boss and get nothing or que random dungeons only to get blue loot drops.
I stopped when I got to the P2W. Fail? Fail what?
"When you thought you were good, and realized you suck and want to blame the player base."
50k peak players with 50+ servers 😅. A lot of servers are dead
nothing happened. literally mmo of the era. we just got started lol wait for that massive expansion update. this game will die only when GW3 drops in 5 years.
Final fantasy 14 blows it up easy.
this is pure cope and delusion
the copeiume is crazy
@@GhostOfBuscemi ff14 sucks ass. and is not free.
Bro i have 911 hours in tl and i think its so dead tbh every time they tri fix something they broke 5 more its unplayable
The targeting system is awful. Completely turned me off the combat. The action combat was way to clunky and the tab system was not reactive enough.
The fact that green/blue gear/weapon look better than purple.
I should be able to use a white/green/blue skin on purple lame ugly skin
Still loving TnL best game out there imo.
Reading all this comments it’s pathetic, what a bunch of crying babies nobody wants to put in the work anymore
I think thay should continue with the story mode
A lot of copium here in the comment section 😂😂😂
You're spot on deltia, as always.
He is nowhere near close, doubt he even played much of this
Calling a 28k active player AT THE MINIMUM a dead game is straight up crazy.
It’s dead if it hits the 10k-15k range imo
I miss Ultima Online pub 16s mechanic design. Never seen it since the late 90s early 2000. Wow clones or anything even close to it. Gear grind. Etc.... immediate MMO death these days.
Such a biased review. As a real MMORPG player, this game was top notch. Yes, it's far from perfect but coming from past MMORPG games, this is much better.
Game is great and i didn't spend a cent on it, coming from gw2. Don't agree with you on most points.
The combat got boring real quick, something every mmo needs to work on.
Guys come to new world next season pvp servers best mmo and combat ever :D
