I recently bought the LG 27GS60QN on sale for 200CAD. I already put the buggy garbage back in the box after testing it for two days. I would give it 0 stars if i could. - The monitor refuses to work via HDMI until you set it to a lower resolution first like 1080p. (you need another monitor in order to do this). DisplayPort works fine though. - Sometimes, the resolution changes randomly after alt-tabing from a game. - LG's garbage auto brightness algorithm can't be turned off on this monitor. WTF? (this issue alone makes the monitor unusable) - Ghosting. - Terrible color accuracy and a wonky gamma. I was planning to post a proper review online, but this monitor is not worth reviewing. @prod_mystery the only way to avoid autodim at least on this model is only by turning on HDR. Some will be fine with it, I just changed monitor because I don't like the HDR and i bought a Samsung. I dont recommend the rog strix. I had one but it was the ugliest monitor i ever had. Yes the display is nice colors are good but It’s really bad for your eyes and has a common flickering problem.
Coating thickness does not determine how clear the image is, it is rather the texture of the cape itself what does it, if it's more grainy or not. For example you can have a very thick glass but you can see through it crystal clear because it's still glass. Also VAs being cheaper than every other display is not true, IPS can be dirt cheap too, or TN. Manufacturers make VAs curved because it's a way of reducing the angle loss when viewed from center thus improving gamma and color shift. I think that 1000r curve is very aggresive for 27 or even a 32 and will make anything other than gaming a bit weird on the screen.
Am I doing something wrong? This monitor does not feel like a 1440p panel to me. Like the aspect ratio is correct and displaying in 1440p, but it has the clarity of a 1080p monitor. Text is hard to read. I have it in dual-screen set up with my other monitor (a old cheap 1440p Acer) and comparing side by side, the LG looks like it's 1080p to me. Messing with sharpness settings doesn't fix it. Also, the LG does a weird auto-adjust on the brightness, is there any way to get rid of that?
Just bought it and having the same sharpness issue. If I use the sharpness settings it just seems to artificially increase it, like boosting the edge contrast. Did you find any fix for this or switched for a different model?

I haven't ran into any of the first issue but did you ever fix the auto brightness adjust?
There is the auto-dimming issue as well. I'd return it if i were you.
Just bought it and having the same sharpness issue. If I use the sharpness settings it just seems to artificially increase it, like boosting the edge contrast. Did you find any fix for this or switched for a different model?
