when my endo suggested exercise after my dexa showed osteoporosis is when I finally knew this whole endo system is rotten and hatefulI'd been dicked around for 5 years. I went to the norman center in tampa 3 weeks later. They took out two large, ugly, brown tumors. It has been four months and a long journey so far. Why won't doctors treat hyperparathyroid? Why won't they care about people who obviously are sick because their calcium is "not that bad?" Isn't there a duty to care? They sure care about an artificial calcium benchmark but ignore the patient's request for surgery. When you're too ill to advocate for yourself, you are taken advantage of to not do anything until what? I'm in a wheelchair? it's ok for old women to just suffer.

Thank you for these informative videos. I am a 70 year old woman. After having decades of calcium numbers at 10.1 - 10.3, my number finally jumped out of the “normal” lab range last year, and my internist referred me to an Endo group. After further testing, six months ago I was referred to a surgeon who removed three hypercellular parathyroid glands. My calcium has since been checked twice and was 9.1 and 9.2. Other than having osteoporosis for many years along with reflux and irregular heartbeat, I seemed to not have any other symptoms that could have been attributed to my calcium levels. However, for 7 years prior to the diagnosis, I was visiting dermatologists because hair was thinning on my forehead and my fingernails were growing out curved downward. I wish physicians knew that these are also symptoms of the parathyroid problem. Now that I’m 6 months since surgery, the nails are finally returning to normal. I’m hopeful my forehead bangs will come back as well!!

Thank you for your extremely informative content. I have learned so much from your videos on TH-cam and TikTok. Many of my symptoms have improved since my parathyroidectomy 10 days ago. Much less frequent urination, no bone pain, no muscle twitches, much less anxiety, and I sleep so much better.

Before even watching ...I know the answer. It is a process. Isn't an easy journey. Takes time...
If you need the surgery, this is the doctor to go to. Caring and compassionate and knowledgeable on a whole other level. Be prepared if you have a more extreme case tho to be patient with your healing.

What does it mean when your pth is 300 before surgery goes down to 30 as tested in surgery then just over a week later I had pth levels of 185?
